Marty is a great guy. Does exactly what he says he will do. He is cut from the old cloth where service matters. I even got a follow up text from him the next day asking how everything was. If you are going to have a full radar system installed in your car, this is the guy to have do it. Six stars. read more

I had a list of things I needed done. I installed a GPS/stereo myself. I did do most of it right, but f****d up the steering wheel control - Custom Mobile Electronics fix that. I had a cell phone booster I wanted hard wired in, not through the cigarette lighter - Custom Mobile Electronics did that. I wanted a front/rear dash cam. Marty had a better suggestion than what I thought I wanted and Custom Mobile Electronics installed that too. I also was interested in an old school auto alarm. Those are a time vampire to install as you need to tie the brain to a LED, siren, door locks, dome light, starter relay and power. Custom Mobile Electronics did the entire job on the one scheduled day. Great honest shop. Excellent job and I am super happy. Best of all, the job was clean. (Tech talk for done correctly) read more

Marty's attention to detail is A-one. My Porsche now has 21st century audio, nav and hands-free phone at great price. Also, he got me heated seats, which my convertible lacked. All this and he's a really nice guy! read more

Marty is committed to excellence in what he does - He gave me some options and made a recommendation fro my 2004 BMW 330ci - just fantastic results, very pleased with the installation and how Marty followed up to insure everything was working properly. The upgraded radio/cd replacement came with a recharging deck for my iPhone - it works great! This is the place to go for your car - he will make it work and does a custom install job per your own vehicle's needs - Great service, and the pricing for what I got was competitive - but it was Marty and his commitment to service and excellence that sold me. This is my 2nd car to his shop - he did a Parrot in my 2004 Lexus which I use frequently. Can't go wrong here - Steve Petaluma read more

Fantastic service: got a great Alpine head unit installed in my ten year old Audi. Marty was knowledgeable, super easy to work with, came in under his original estimate and generally great all around. Don't even think about going anywhere else. read more

Highly recommend this shop Marty and his team are top notch! This is the one stop shop for your car needs. The shop is always working on high line cars. Marty's shop is clean and well organized. There is no better place to go when you have Custom Mobile Electronics. read more

Just finished my third vehicle over the past decade with Marty. Every time, my expectations are exceeded. He provides a 100% quality job and is easy to do business with. My only negative is that I do admit to some vehicle envy when I bring my more humble transportation to his shop. Regardless, I could not imagine driving both locally and elsewhere without the help of my Escort system. read more

Amazing! I had my car in and out of there on the same day, saving me an extra day on the rental. Total professionals. (I tried to trade my Hyundai for the Porsch they had in there but NO GO!!) Anyway, I second the yelp that states "Randy is the Man". Indeed. Jeanie Baxter read more

I don't often leave reviews however, I will this time. I found this place online and read the Yelp reviews. So here goes, Marty was polite, knowledgeable, honest and does the best damn work in the business. He's the first to say he's not cheap but, if you want cheap, go elsewhere, if you want the best, then go see Marty. He made my new truck sound like a sound studio. Thank you. read more

Marty and his team fully deserve all these 5-star reviews. He is a man of integrity who will do whatever it takes to make sure his customers have a terrific experience. Having had him install a backup camera and wire in a radar detector on my car, I will definitely go back to him for any future projects. read more

I have a 2004 Ferrari 360 that I purchased a few months ago and found that the CD cassette player was not working correctly. It seemed to load and play the cassettes but there was no sound. I was referred to Marty at CME by a radio shop in San Rafael because they specialize in radios for Ferrari, Porsche, and other European cars. Marty saw right away that the radio had been retrofitted by the previous owner to play audio from an iPhone through the CD Cassette player. He also checked things out and found that the sub woofer speaker was blown. After some discussion I decided to reset the CD Cassette player to its original condition rather that use the iPhone workaround in order to avoid interference with an escort radar detector that I had recently installed that also communicated with the iPhone. Marty took care of the CD Cassette work and also installed a new sub woofer speaker at a fraction of the cost that it would have been if done by Ferrari. Highly recommended. Bob K read more

Marty and his team are awesome. Took a used Porsche Boxster to a whole new level. I called multiple stores who told me they would have to open up the car before they could tell me what system could be compatible. Marty new right away and he didn't try to oversell me things that are above my needs. Now our little Boxster can rock-n-roll! Leah was also so attentive to scheduling and organized. Love these guys! read more

Marty installed a new system in my Escalade a couple of years ago and did a fabulous job. I recently got a new phone and could not for the life of me pair it with my system. I stopped in today and despite his being extremely busy, he took the time to walk me through the set up. Within 5 minutes he had me back on the road and paired. He actually cares about his customers and does great work. I'm a customer for life and recommend him highly. read more

Working with Marty has been awesome. What began as adding iPhone capacity to my car ended up with the installation of a new, current touch screen radio. There were a few bumps along the way due to technology. There was no hesitation on Marty's part about dealing with it, helping me recover the cost of parts, and making sure everything worked. Recently, when a new battery was installed in my car, a number of radio problems occurred. Marty fixed everything under warranty without hesitation. Marty and his guys get the highest recommendation possible. read more

Marty is really the best ! He did a great install on my cayenne and even took the time to run through the functions with me when I was too busy to come down till later ! He even took the time to run through what I wanted in detail and didn't rush me. I really appreciate ! read more

I've been a customer of Marty's for a couple of decades and have always come away feeling satisfied. Recently my equipment stopped working that I'd had for years. Marty found it only needed a battery replacement and sent me on my way in short order. Not only do you get high quality work with CME but leave feeling you have a relationship with Marty. Exceptional customer service. read more

I purchased a BMW, my 4th one, ASSUMING that it had a beeper for locking and unlocking the doors as all my others had. It didn't as the package for the car did not include this feature. I went to my local BMW dealer who stated that it was not an add-on, therefore not doable. No independent could do it either. Marty and Diego INVENTED on their own a system to work perfectly. To say that I am happy is a massive understatement. This is electronic genius level! This is my 3rd project on this car that they have done (back-up system, better speakers) perfectly. read more

Simply the best in quality and service. I was referred by a number of other shops that stated he was the only one to do high end europeans. He and his crew are great1 read more

Custom Mobile Electronics is top shelf. Marty Barry is a expert in his field: he is up on the latest technology, understands the need for an easy user interface, and cares about aesthetics. Marty's customer service is excellent; he really cares about his clients. Why spend hours trying to figure out the right product or whether you can DIY it when you can take advantage of Marty's many many years experience and get it all right the first time. I am so happy with my new hands-free phone installation. I would highly recommend them. read more

Custom Mobile Electronics installed my sound system in my van several years ago. I bought a new phone and Marty helped me program my new device, no problem. Again thank you for great service! read more

This is an overdue review. Marty upgraded my 2002 M5 a couple of years ago with a new navigation system, Bluetooth, rear view camera and an upgraded radar system. In addition, I had my windows tinted darker and dents repaired. I was thrilled with the outcome! I went back recently for a few issues with the camera and Marty took care of me at no charge. Marty and Diego are professional, knowledgeable and customer friendly with prices that are reasonable for the work they do. I highly recommend Custom Mobile Electronics for their expertise and stellar customer service! read more

I had a great experience working with Marty to install a radar detector and camera. I was hearing a noise a couple of months afterward and called him about it. He said "bring it over and I'll take a look." He went for a ride with me and diagnosed the sound even though it had nothing to do with his install. Attitude is everything and Marty is very customer focused, fair and knowledgeable. He has me as a customer for life and I would very much encourage you to check him out! read more

I went to Marty to change out my factory radio because I wanted to hook up my ipod. Turnout I got a lot more than that. I now have blue tooth for my iphone, and amazingly the sound of my BMW sounds better than before. "Professional" is the word to describe the finished work. All the details are account for with the installation: complete steering wheel controls and radio light turns dim when headlights are on. I'm very happy with my services at CME! read more

I was listening to the car stereo that Marty installed, what was it, maybe three years ago? Its been a long while since the installation of new speakers, amplifiers and d/a converters (to play my iPod). Anyway, I'm listening and the sound is so great, even after these years. I was enjoying the ride so much that I wanted to thank Mary for assisting me with the choice of equipment and the professionalism of the installation. I even remember once that Marty took fixed a problem with a loose wire without charge although the equipment was out of warranty, He stands behind his product. So thanks Marty. You run your shop and do your job in the most professional and friendly manner. I live in Berkeley but its is with the drive for Marty to work on my car. read more

Marty is very professional and provided excellent advice and service. My Porsche PCM system was broken and I wanted something more useful compared to the PCM system. He helped me install a new Pioneer system in the car and it works flawlessly, all steering wheel button work as well just as before. I would come back with another vehicle for "upgrades". read more

I actually haven't had any work done on my car yet.. But I will be very soon! I've never written a review like this before, but for this business, I felt it was necessary. I called this shop today expecting to get just a rushed half-fast answer regarding what options I had for upgrading my sound system in my BMW e46 to accommodate a sirius radio. Marty answered, and he spent 10 minutes on the phone with me explaining ALL my options including how he could work with my budget. I could tell he has a keen knowledge of performance and luxury cars and average cars. He is concerned with the aesthetics of the new head unit and which would work best for optimum sound quality for my speakers. I look forward to getting work done on my car by this business. I can tell that they not only have knowledge of the industry, but also a passion for what they do, and seek to go beyond the bounds of the standard. read more

I was simply amazed with the service I received from Marty. It's rare to find a business owner so professional, competent and enthusiastic about what they do. He diagnosed an functional issue with an Escort installed by someone else. Found the issue, fixed it and gave me a thorough lesson in the system... all for an hour's labor. I couldn't recommend him more highly! read more

I went to Marty because he was recommended to me by the dealership when I asked if I could get a backup camera, sensors, and an OEM alarm installed in my car. He did an amazing job. He was polite, knowledgable, timely, considerate of my schedule and my budget, and even offered to accommodate getting me into a rental car while he had mine. The system works flawlessly and the sensors look integrated because he made sure they were color-matched to my car. I'm very impressed with Marty and the great job he and his team did on my car. I highly recommend him! read more

My 2006 Mercedes had no auxiliary port to play music through the sound system. For hands free phone operation, I used a unit attached to the visor, which was unsatisfactory. Marty at Custom Mobile Electronics installed a system he told me about (that I didn't know existed) that would fully integrate my iPhone output (telephone music, Pandora, audio books, everything that produces sound) so that it now works just like it was factory installed. The music automatically stops when I make or receive a call and automatically resumes when I hang up. The sound, whether I connect the iPhone directly or use Bluetooth, is perfect. The system couldn't be more slick. Decisions had to made about interface location, and by going with Marty's suggestions, the whole thing looks like it was there when the car was built. Marty did everything he said he would do, when he said he would do it, and for the price he gave me up front. I have a great system that I couldn't be more satisfied with. It's what I wanted and then some. And the whole process left with a good feeling about doing business with Marty. read more
