I had a list of things I needed done. I installed a GPS/stereo myself. I did do most of it right, but f****d up the steering wheel control - Custom Mobile Electronics fix that. I had a cell phone booster I wanted hard wired in, not through the cigarette lighter - Custom Mobile Electronics did that. I wanted a front/rear dash cam. Marty had a better suggestion than what I thought I wanted and Custom Mobile Electronics installed that too. I also was interested in an old school auto alarm. Those are a time vampire to install as you need to tie the brain to a LED, siren, door locks, dome light, starter relay and power. I have a 2004 Ferrari 360 that I purchased a few months ago and found that the CD cassette player was not working correctly. It seemed to load and play the cassettes but there was no sound. I was referred to Marty at CME by a radio shop in San Rafael because they specialize in radios for Ferrari, Porsche, and other European cars. Marty saw right away that the radio had been retrofitted by the previous owner to play audio from an iPhone through the CD Cassette player. He also checked things out and found that the sub woofer speaker was blown. After some discussion I decided to reset the CD Cassette player to its original condition rather that use the iPhone workaround in order to avoid interference with an escort radar detector that I had recently installed that also communicated with the iPhone. Marty took care of the CD Cassette work and also installed a new sub woofer speaker at a fraction of the cost that it would have been if done by Ferrari. Highly recommended. Bob K read more

I purchased a BMW, my 4th one, ASSUMING that it had a beeper for locking and unlocking the doors as all my others had. It didn't as the package for the car did not include this feature. I went to Marty to change out my factory radio because I wanted to hook up my ipod. Turnout I got a lot more than that. I now have blue tooth for my iphone, and amazingly the sound of my BMW sounds better than before. "Professional" is the word to describe the finished work. I was listening to the car stereo that Marty installed, what was it, maybe three years ago? Its been a long while since the installation of new speakers, amplifiers and d/a converters (to play my iPod). Anyway, I'm listening and the sound is so great, even after these years. My 2006 Mercedes had no auxiliary port to play music through the sound system. For hands free phone operation, I used a unit attached to the visor, which was unsatisfactory. Marty at Custom Mobile Electronics installed a system he told me about (that I didn't know existed) that would fully integrate my iPhone output (telephone music, Pandora, audio books, everything that produces sound) so that it now works just like it was factory installed. The music automatically stops when I make or receive a call and automatically resumes when I hang up. The sound, whether I connect the iPhone directly or use Bluetooth, is perfect. The system couldn't be more slick. Decisions had to made about interface location, and by going with Marty's suggestions, the whole thing looks like it was there when the car was built. Marty did everything he said he would do, when he said he would do it, and for the price he gave me up front. I have a great system that I couldn't be more satisfied with.
