CME initially did a good job of installing a new stereo and speakers. When my amp blew from water damage, they quickly took care of the problem by removing the damaged amp. When I called the shop shortly afterwards to schedule the installation of a new amp, I received no call back. The second time I called I reached them and was told I was on the list of jobs to be done. After a month or so passed, I left another message and never received a call. Marty came to my rescue yesterday and fixed (e.g. Removed and installed properly) the Valentine One radar detector install the "fools with tools" at Best Buy messed up the day before. I was able to get a same day appointment, the work took about 1.5 hours as estimated and the price was competitive. I had intended to write this review in May, 2019, but I forgot to do it. I am delighted to give 5 stars to Marty and Custom Mobile Electronics. This shop had been highly recommended to me for a custom V1 install, and I can now pass on that high recommendation. Marty was a pro all the way. His shop is impressive as there was a Porsche, a Ferrari, and a McLaren in there waiting to be worked on. The shop next door was a Ferrari garage. I've had custom V1 installs in my Porsche 911SC and Carrera4s, but my former installer had retired, and I wanted a V1 hard-wired in my BMW X3M. Finding Marty's shop was great. He was fast, professional, answered all my questions, and was truly a pleasure to see in action. I can give a 5-star recommendation to CME without hesitation or any reservations. Marty Barry is great to work with - he helped me with two difficult issues that the Mercedes dealer couldn't and he saved me a lot of $$$ and I had a better solution. the first time a CD was jammed in the CD player and couldn't be extracted. the Mercedes dealer wanted $5,000 to replace the entire system and that was their only solution. Marty was able to get the unit re-built and the offending CD removed for at least one "zero" less than Mercedes wanted and I had a new CD player for thousands less. the issue was caused by the way Mercedes installs its entertainment units. at the same time I also wanted something that ws at least close to 2020 in technology and that could use it to access the music on my phone and other devices. Marty was able to find an elegant solution, costing less than $100 that upgraded the 2005 technology in my 2012 MB and allowed instant, automatic access to my own music. Marty is a straight shooter - no BS - just wants to help you solve/fix problems and make your day. I'll always go to CME first to get my mobile electronics issues addressed. read more

Got a wireless aftermarket Apple CarPlay interface installed in my 2015 Audi A3. Integrates rights with my stock media center and works great. You can hardly tell anything was installed. All I have to say is Marty is The Man!! He installed my sub unit (mind you very low-end compared to what he's used to dealing with - when I dropped off my car there was a Ferrari and brand new 911 Turbo in his shop) at a very reasonable rate and my car sounds just the way I wanted it to! My sound system is in an '08 and was 'premier' as stock, but I felt it needed a sub to round out the low-end, and sure enough this unit does the trick perfectly! Workmanship looks great! Marty and his crew kept my car very clean, etc., and he was very prompt. Highly recommend! (Side note: something tells me Marty doesn't 'need' this review - when I went for my consoltation a few weeks ago his shop was packed with cars then as well as when I dropped off my car last Friday, so something tells me he's getting plenty of business via positive word of mouth and rightfully so, but if you do plan to have your car stereo work done by him, just be forewarned that he 'may' not be the type of shop that will wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am and take you on the spot - you'll likely have to do like I did and schedule a few weeks in advance.) read more

I was referred to Marty from Franzini Bros. Both are awesome. I was a bit scared when I looked at all the high end cars he works on. My 91 Porsche Targa considered vintage now just needed an updated stereo that was updated sometime in the 80's with big rear speaker and huge amp that took up half the cargo. He cleaned it all up and also worked with Franzini Bros to rebuild the whole back deck. It now looks factory and sounds great! It's also Bluetooth and can be hands free in car. He covered up any past holes for all the 80's wiring and put everything tight and concealed. The best part is that he didn't try to up-sell me on anything and just let me know what they did and explained everything about them. He quoted me a price on whole install and take out and then came in under budget! Never really write a lot of reviews but this guy is definitely a 5 Star! Thanks Marty! I have known Marty since he installed cell phone mount and portable navigation mount in my Audi in the mid aughts. Great work then. Recently, I wanted to upgrade the audio in my '05 Jeep Rubicon. I started looking primarily for Bluetooth so we could stream music on a trip. Then I discovered that I could put in a 2DIN module with cameras. Marty looked at the Jeep and recommended a Pioneer which could support 2 cameras, Bluetooth and more. (Why 2 cameras? We off-road and think a low forward view would be good for spotting rocks/obstacles and when all you can see is sky looking over the hood.) The installation is great. He made camera mounts front and rear, and installed 2 USBs for CarPlay, plus of course the Pioneer itself. The rear camera had to be mounted on a swing-out tire carrier. These guys bent over backwards to create the perfect subwoofer situation for my Maserati Quattroporte since the factory system has very little bass. They even worked in a hidden adjustment knob near my audio controls.
