Curtains and home is a wonderful place that I have shopped at. They currently have 50% off items as the lovely man who is the owner is retiring. So this location in Levittown NY will be closing. Ithe ladies who work there seem to know their stuff and have been there along time. I believe there is still one store in Shirley out East that still is open. Sad to see them go. I was a little apprehensive about shopping here after reading the reviews but I ventured in and was immediately greeted and asked if I needed help. The two women took the time to help me and my wife select our new kitchen curtains. They did inform me of the no return, no exchange policy and i assured them I read the sign as I entered. The employees were awesome and deserving of 5 stars but the no return policy knocks the rating to 3 stars. I'd be leary of making a very expensive purchase because of their return policy. Overall they had what we needed and they're conveniently located. read more

I have had such a great experience with this store. I had purchased a bunch of curtains, but accidentally threw out the receipt before taking them out of the packaging. It turned out that I needed to exchange a couple of my purchases. I went back to the store and they were so helpful, and exchanged my purchases without any difficulty. However, one of the new curtains I purchased was from a different dye lot than the other curtains I had already hung up. They went above and beyond to find me a matching curtain from the same dye lot. I cannot express enough just how helpful every member of the staff has been. I had a similar experience with Steve. He came to my house to measure windows brought in the books of samples and in two minutes wanted me to pick out shades verticals and fabric for three rooms. When I told him I needed more time he said in his arrogant tone you are the first person to ask me that. I should have asked him to leave my home that very moment. He went on to criticize my existing shades from the previous owner and told me that my crown molding was severely outdated. I cannot believe that he is the owner of the company and prides himself on customer service. Instead of getting shades I got a miserable unhappy jaded business owner hurling insults at me. Steve is in bad need of an attitude adjustment. No wonder he stated that he cannot keep staff working for him and is short handed. All I can say is wow ! read more

Their return policy is terrible ! I purchased curtains on December 7th today is Jan 3rd and they will not refund my money after 14 days . I have my receipt, curtains never opened and they will not refund my $200.00. Won't even make an exception that it was Christmas. Never again ! read more

Ha, I can see the argument being made that Steve needs an attitude adjustment, but at the end of the day, he's a hard working man and true to his word. In today's climate where money is so tight. the fact that anyone can even go in this store and purchase these expensive curtains is beyond my means. My son however chose to shop here and spent a mini fortune. Not knowing how and why of window dressing, he purchased the wrong sizes, valances, etc, packages not even opened . They will not exchange. Bad business practice. The young people are the future of the business. My son would have been a great customer $$ for them but now i will advise him never go there again and i will advise no one else too as well. There are MANY stores who would welcome any kind of business and certainly treat the custom better and expect exchanges, returns or even store credit, This store is not that special and the customer service certainly doesnt stack up and as i am reading the other reviews, arrogant is fitting. If I could give this no stars I would but Yelp won't let me write without it. This store is a disgrace. The owner Steve is the rudest most unprofessional business man I have ever dealt with. My husband and I went into store was helped by a woman who barely could help us was told we would get a call which we did by Steve telling us he was going g on vacation and would call us when he returned. No call we gave him the benefit of the doubt and called him. He was rude on the phone and when my husband stated we would measure and install since we have custom windows but just needed him to come look at them so we knew we are measuring correctly he told my husband he didn't want to do business with us. Who does he think he is. We were kind and respectful but he didn't want to deal with it. I would suggest NEVER EVER using this store. I don't know how someone like him is even in business. read more

Steve is horrible to deal with. Ruined the experience and is the reason why I will not shop here anymore. He is absolutely obnoxious and has no idea how to communicate with people. When picking out our curtains, he was so condescending towards our opinions. He tried to charge us a ridiculous price before we negotiated him down using a competitor's pricing (a true sign of dishonesty). When we had an issue with one of our curtains he was so rude and unwilling to help. It isn't worth shopping here and dealing with him. read more

I purchased a set of 4 valances at the time my windows weren't done. Finally, after 45 days was putting I up my curtains and bam one was dark maroon. I purchased brown make a long story short I went to the store and the owner continued to argue with me that the color was brown. He said and plus its over the time why did u wait so long and what do you want me too do for you.. Well I told him nicely I would like another brown one. He tells me well your only losing 14.99 you can purchase another one. I felt my temper boiling. customer always right. Guess you missed that .. Well he gave me the brown one got home and the tassels were a light brown instead of dark. I always liked to go there too I bought a table cloth throw pillows and other curtains . The blond lady that works there (used to work in kohls) is very lovely and always very helpful. I will never ever go back there bad customer service. read more

Absolutely Awful! ! My Aunt and I checked it out when it first opened, they sell odds and ends as well as products that seem to have fallen off the back of the truck or, overstock from clearance stores and charge full price! We saw it for what it was and tried to give it the benefit of the doubt... My Aunt went back and bought valances. After her construction was done her contractor (my husband) had some difficulty installing them, due to the way the windows were situated; she decided to return them. When she went back the owner was rude, and nasty to her saying her contractor must not be very capable being these are very easy to install! He also gave her a hard time being they only have a 14 day return policy and this was 45 days later. He reluctantly and nastily gave her a store credit, which was all she was asking for. I then called him myself to say who are you to bad mouth someones ability when one you don't know who your talking about and two are not privy to the facts. Your job is customer service and sales, neither in which he does well! He told me he was nice enough to do what he did & hung up on me! I myself prior to this event went back twice to pick up novelty dish towels for Christmas gifts. While I was making my purchase the owner ringing me up openly commented that he can't believe people are buying these things. I laughed and said they were cute and he had no comment. The second time he was openly discussing his dislike of household animals and said but it sells so.... I will not be returning to this location and frankly could go on about my experiences here for pages but, will leave it at that! read more

This has to be a front for something because they clearly don't want to actually sell anything. Staff completely ignored my husband and I when we entered, no one offered any help, we weren't able to look at anything or ask any questions. After about 10 minutes of waiting for help I lost my patience and walked out. Chalked it up to my husband and I looking young and maybe they thought that we were not serious buyers, so bought all my curtains else where instead. Recently we decided to give the place another go, you get an attitude like there is no tomorrow. Staff seems like they just wanna sit around and look pretty and not actually do any work. Was told you can't return an item if it is not folded and place back into bag the same exact way it was in the packaging, you know how hard that is with curtains?? I've worked in retail, if I ever told a customer they couldn't try on a shirt unless they folded it back perfectly and placed it back I would have probably been fired. Who runs a business this way? I bought a shower curtain from the Levittown store. All I can say is that it looked like it was sewn together on the high seas in a row boat in a storm. This company sells seconds that the discount stores wont even touch! And he charges full price!!! I heard him telling a customer on the phone that NO ONE else knows how to install blinds and his price is $500. Really? Nobody is ever in the store. After I return my purchase I will not go back. I had called Curtains and Home yesterday to ask them if they could shorten one of my valences and make one longer. The owner Steve said we can do anything. I brought in my valences and he told me you don't need to do that at all. You want your valences nice and full.He saved me a lot of money. I recently bought a new home, and needed a lot of window treatments. I shopped around, got many prices and suggestions, but I was not pleased with the cost, or the business establishments, all well known. I first went to Curtains and Home in Commack to look for some off the rack curtains for a couple of windows. I was very surprised at both the variety and quality of the curtains in the store. I returned to get an estimate for wood blinds as well as Roman shades and custom drapery. Steve, the owner, was very helpful, helped me pick out the blinds, and roman shades in a quality fabric that I love. He then came to my home again with his installer, and together they came up with the perfect solution to fit my unique situation. It looks wonderful! I am very happy with the quality, as well as the installation. It is wonderful, and well worth a few extra dollars to work with professionals who know their business, and perform it perfectly!
