First time here and the food was INCREDIBLE! Got the ox tail plate, jerk chicken stuffed plantain and the crispy cups!! Staff was super friendly and efficient! The ambiance was great! I will be back

Curry Chicken

First time trying review: The food was full of flavor and good. Cabbage was SO good. Only downside was the rice was a little undercooked and hard. Will definitely give them another try.

Birthday celebration for a group dinner at Curry's.

I had my birthday celebration here with 15 people and everyone loved the food and the service! One of my favorite places in Richmond! My family being from Trinidad this place felt like home. Even if you are unfamiliar with Caribbean food they still make you feel like family explaining every meal. And beautiful decor!

Stuffed plantain w/curry chicken, collard greens and cabbage

Great vibes! They have a nice outdoor seating area and a small balcony. Food was great! One of the owners (there's 3) came up with his own creation. The crispy cups! It's filled with cabbage or Mac and cheese (yum) and topped with a protein. They were so good! I could eat them all the time. I barely had time to snap a photo. Everyone was very nice. I think they're a new business. Let's give them a warm Richmond welcome!

An iconic RVA classic. If you know you know. This place has been a neighborhood favorite for ages,…read moreand I remember coming here with my mom when I was just a toddler. Whenever I come home to Richmond, I still make sure to stop in even if it's just for some empanadillas and some of the tres leches cake. The staff is great and the ambiance is very nostalgic for me. Be prepared to wait if you're coming in around dinner time, especially on weekends.

I was really excited to try Kuba Kuba. Being from Miami, I'm always on the lookout for great Cuban…read morefood outside the city, though I'll admit my years there may have set my expectations higher than most places can meet. The restaurant itself is really cool. There's a ton of character to it, lots of decor and signage, and pots hanging in the open kitchen. I didn't try the coffee this time, but I was glad to see the traditional Cuban coffees on the menu. The food was good, just not what I'd personally call traditional Cuban. I started with the beef empanadas, which came covered in a mango salsa and a crema. Not traditional, but they still had good flavor. For my entree I went with the picadillo. The beef itself was tasty, though it came topped with that same mango salsa that I don't think it needed. The rice was on the plain side for me. The dish also came with a plantain of some kind that was hard to place, somewhere between a maduro and a tostone. We also tried the yuca frita, and the texture was a little different than what I'm used to. There's clearly a following here and the flavors are good in their own right. It just leans more its own style than classic Cuban, so I'd go in expecting a fresh take rather than the traditional version.
