I tried Curry Pizza House and honestly, I loved it. The tandoori wings were the highlight, super flavorful, a little smoky, and cooked just right with a nice char. Definitely something I'd go back for. I also got the BBQ chicken and bacon pizza which was really good too. More on the classic side, but everything worked the sauce, the bacon, the chicken, all balanced well and the crust held up nicely. And to top it off, the lady there was SUPER nice and helped me the very first time i was there. I had Curry Pizza House before in the Bay Area (Fremont). I've always loved their pizza. I wanted to try the one in Manteca after my move and I can honestly say that it still hits every time. I don't typically write reviews for Pizza joints as they all taste the same. When I opened the box I saw absolutely no grease and the smell from the ham, devine. We bought an all meat and Hawaiian. For the Hawaiian, the ham was perfect. Not too cheesy or muddled in sauce and the crust, oh my!!! So soft and NOT greasy. I can't eat all meat but my husband and son said that it is one of the best as they love how they don't have to dab the top of the pizza to get rid of grease. You can probably see my pattern here. This place was pretty good! Our go to spot is Bombay pizza in Fremont and this was pretty close to it. Better than Chicago with a twist. The flavors here are good but not as spicy or strong flavors as Bombay pizza. We tried half desi bbq (my fav) and half tandoori pizza and a side of tandoori wings. Overall service was good and the cashier was helpful and nice. We ordered the butter chicken pizza to go, which was totally loaded with mildly spicy dark meat chicken, a light curry sauce, thin sliced red onion and diced tomato. My kids gobbled it up! We read about Curry Pizza House in a recent edition of The Record (Stockton), and decided to try it while we were in Manteca. We had never had Indian-style pizza before, but always wondered whether it was a match made in heaven or an abomination. I'm here to tell you that it's a match made in heaven! We had half a chilli paneer and half curry chicken masala, and I can't decide which side I liked better. Traditional Indian flavors really did well on a pizza, and it was a combination of something really different with something really familiar. It's too bad we live 30 miles away, or Curry Pizza House would be in our regular rotation. PS - it's great that they use paper plates - which are compostable - rather than styrofoam, too! read more
