When we first went, the restaurant was running special promotions--$49.99 per person for the dinner buffet and a Wagyu steak for two (with the full all-you-can-eat buffet included) for $155. We tried both during two separate visits, and the food was so delicious we couldn't resist coming back the very next weekend. (According to the restaurant, these promotions have since ended, but the quality of the food makes it worth visiting regardless.) The service was equally impressive. Felipe, the manager/host, was welcoming, patient, and very thorough in explaining the menu. Our server, Lays, was outstanding as well--she made our anniversary dinner feel so special and even surprised us with a complimentary dessert. Food-wise, the ribeye, sirloin, filet mignon, and garlic shrimp were my favorites--perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. The grilled pineapple and fried bananas added the perfect sweet touch. On our second visit, we ordered the Wagyu steak, and it was phenomenal: tender, juicy, and melt-in-your-mouth good. Even as I write this, I find myself craving it all over again. I highly recommend Show De Carnes under its new ownership--it's one of the best dining experiences we've had in San Jose!

The meat selection, temperature and cook style was right on par with any Brazilian Steakhouse outside of Rio de Janeiro or São Paulo. Price was super reasonable.. You first go to the salad bar, which is a meal in itself, and a delicious one. I would not be exaggerating to refer to every item in it as a delicacy - and it's all you can eat! But you don't want to eat too much of it, because what comes next is better. Waiters start coming to your table with skewers of meat - chicken, pork, and beef - lots of beef -that have just come from a rotisserie in the kitchen. They cut off slices for you, and they keep cutting them off until you tell them to stop. And they have sixteen different kinds of meat so a different waiter shows up at your table every couple of minutes with a different skewer. I have never said this about a restaurant before, but everything I ate was delicious. Not just good, but roll your eyes up in your head and moan out loud good. And the service was fantastic. They didn't just wait on us, they doted on us. Needless to say, I give thus unpronounceable Brazilian restaurant my highest recommendation.
