I went to Curry King with some friends and we were treated well. We all liked the food and service

---Worst restaurant in crescent city from start to finish---- --Please read before attempting this place ..(((this is for Monday 2nd 2026 12-pm))-- --Please know I've been eating Indian food since I was 16 and I'm 50 now i know good food --I also know how some treat women second class -this is that place everyone --except idk about the manager he wasn't there to be fair-but it shines bad on him either way -First called in an order he doesn't speak English clearly so that's hard...then instead of letting me order everything he kept cutting me off -then I asked can I pay now? He puts the phone down and walks away no word...sat there 10-minutes on the phone I finally just hung up...called back there phone still wasn't hung up..so I sent someone to the restaurant to order there and bring it home ...AGREEING with other bad reviews (1) food was wrong every single item except the naan bread...the chicken curry dishes came in a micro mini container and the contents are what you expect to find at the bottom of a pot at the end restaurant hours that you throw out REALLY?? The base looked like cooked down salsa And the chicken one tiny bite size chicken that was fatty -The lamb dish also only had one bite size and tons of piled on rice -The tandoori chicken no flavor they literally baked it and through a piece of onion and green bell pepper One tiny scoop of white (not the typical rice)for 3 dishes? Now mind you they charged me (110.13)$ ((((Shameful)) but it doesn't stop there --We got a personal number called them let them know the food is wrong he kept talking over me and down right bully...i decided i would like a refund i don't like arguing and seeing as there was no responsibility on there end..he said: will make more i said no thank you he got louder...so i sent someone to take care of it...and all of a sudden they don't know how to refund you...then when i said cash is fine.... someone mentioned health department------boom my bank was refunded ?? I see you ! sketchy as..!!!! If you decide to go ahead just make sure if you're a female you have a guy with you maybe they will treat you like a human ordering THERE food that THEY advertise ...don't let them bully you or try to control the narrative.. (2) dirty inside and out no one was in there the parking lot is always empty I should've listened to those signs and bad reviews ...I don't see this place staying open..maybe that's why there aggressive (3) -naan bread is 2.99 they charged me 5$ I bought 4 flavors -Lamb charged me 10$ higher then stated They lost my money-my returning-and a positive review read more

I ordered food to go. The woman who took my order was very friendly, and the place seemed clean. I ordered the dinner entrée of Chana masala at ~$20 I was surprised by the small portion given that it didn't come with rice. The spices were good, but it was so overly salted that it was almost inedible. I had to add steamed broccoli to it at home to "spread" out the salt. I also ordered the $20 vegetable biryani, the same thing with the salt, it was so overly salted and the portion was small, tiny specs of vegetables and a few pieces of carrots. The "large" side of rice, that you have to get to go with your entrée was rice. I wouldn't go back. I'm leaving 3 stars because they were friendly and clean :) read more

Delicious Indian food in Crescent City? Well - yes, actually! Curry King offers an extensive selection of North Indian dishes, including both vegetarian and non-vegetarian (lamb, goat, fish, chicken, shrimp) options, appetizers, breads (naan, roti, parantha), biryanis, and desserts. They also have wraps, fried chicken, and Cajun tenders if that's more your jam. The decor is reflective of previous businesses who have called the building home - a variety of antlers and taxidermied creatures line the walls. There is plenty of seating and a dance floor (which we didn't use). Our server was patient and knowledgeable - without hesitating she knew which menu items were vegan, if not what specific ingredients kept them from being so, and whether they could be customized to be vegan. We sampled a variety of dishes, including garlic naan, onion parantha, dal makhani, dal tadka, aloo gobi, mushroom korma, and baingan bharta (my favorite). The dishes were served with perfectly cooked jeera rice. Although there are not many vegan items, I do appreciate the ability to veganize many of the vegetarian offerings. Pricing is reasonable for the quality, and the staff are truly special. read more

I was craving Indian food and decided to try this place. I ordered the butter chicken and the garlic naan, which are two of the most basic Indian dishes. However, these had no flavor. The naan had no garlic flavor whatsoever and the butter chicken didn't even have any spices. Really disappointed, but I guess this is the best Crescent city has to offer in this area. read more

I've ordered food from here 3 times now and it is always wonderful. Huge selection to choose from on the menu, so if you are hungry, it might be hard to choose. The food is always ready promptly and I feel like they are always cleaning when I am there: the place is spotless. Plan to eat there again soon. Should note that I have never eaten at the restaurant, so I cannot speak to the table service. Came back to edit this and add something after reading a one-star review of this place saying they treat you differently or bad if you are a woman. I am a woman, and every time I've dealt with one of the men there, they have always been extra helpful and kind to me. Never has my order been wrong. We ordered doordash and i right i received someone elses order because basically nothing was right. I reached out to the restaurant to see if I had gotten someone elses order and they said they couldn't make what I ordered so doordash offered suggestions. When I contacted doordash they said that they wouldn't do that but my order had changed. Whatever they sent was awful. And by the time it got to us to realize the mistake everywhere else in town was closed except fast food which we have sworn off. The new Indian restaurant in the old, now long deceased Chinese Karaoke Upstart restaurant Baimugarden's location sharing their north wall with the longest surviving Far East Chinese take-out restaurant in the same rustic street mall in the far north of Crescent City is a Gem. These new young entrepreneurs from Brookings, Oregon took over the huge empty building space with new decorations by failed Chinese upstart and made five star Indian go to restaurant in the small community that was starving for one. For the life of me in the last seven years that I have been here living the dream life in the Redwoods Forest I never imagined that I will get to see an authentic Indian restaurant let alone Five Yelp Big Star quality. The four of us started with the best crunchy and healthy appetizer that used chickpea and savory sauce, and began our first gastronomical journey to heaven with Goat, Chicken, Chicken, Chicken, free rice, two different Nans and two delicious deserts later, we all agreed for Fat Five Yelp Stars. I recommend that you try! I love my Goat dish. Butter chicken was outstanding. Nan bread delicious at $2.99 and butter Nan at $5.99 (I am not sure why this butter Nan is so much more expensive than the garlic Nan - since the four squares were the same in quantity and the taste) was absolutely amazing. We enjoyed garden salads, tandoori chicken, butter goat with white basmati rice, fried chicken, and chicken biryani rice. Everything was prepared perfectly. Portions were generous! Avoid at all costs! Horrible horrible service and zero respect for the customer. We arrived to the restaurant around 8:50 pm. About half the tables were empty. Till 9:15 pm, nobody brought us water or came to take our order, so we finally went up and ordered at the till. 35 minutes later, our food had still not arrived. We were there with our toddler and it was getting close to bedtime, so my husband went up and told the lady at the reception that we had been there for an hour, we were with our toddler, and could they please try and expedite our food? Instead of showing even a hint of apology, the woman instead turned around on us and started accusing us of shouting and saying we didn't need to eat there if we couldn't wait, and threatening to call the police on us and throw us out! It was almost 10 pm at that point and most other places were closed so I literally folded my hands and asked her to please just bring us our food, which they finally did past 10 pm, and also missed one of the things we had ordered. Although the restaurant closes at 10 PM, they asked me to arrive by 8:45 PM to be served--which I did. Despite arriving on time, no one took my order or even offered water until 9:15 PM. The food finally arrived after 10 PM. When I inquired at 9:50 PM--more than an hour after arriving--I was told they were busy with takeout orders. The staff then curtly said, "You don't have to eat here," and that I was welcome to leave if I didn't want to wait. I had my 2-year-old with me, otherwise I would've left immediately. When the food finally came, it was nothing special--completely ordinary. Do yourself a favor and skip this place unless you want to end your day frustrated and disappointed. read more

I am not even exaggerating. This might be the worst Indian food i have ever eaten. First, they make you pay when you order. After waiting for 1.5 hour- we got boiled milk and sugar for masala chai. After 1.5 hour they said they are out of palak for palak paneer. All dal/ chicken/ paneer had same gravy. Not kidding. Really bad. I am not a hater and have eaten bad food- but this topped it. I got the lamb curry and it was delightful. The layers of flavor within the sauce were a delicious blend of aromatic spices, salty lamb juices and fresh vegetables. The lamb was melt in your mouth tender. The service was great as well. Our server made sure to check in on us periodically and asked us if the spice level was okay. Crescent City needed more choices, flavor, and culture! Even if you're scared of Indian food you gotta try the different naan choices. I'd recommend ordering 'family style' so everyone can try different dishes and meats with the bread. You can request milder spice levels. So far the butter chicken, mash potato stuffed naan, lamb biryani , and fried potatoes were all amazing. And lots of vegetarian options! There was a bit of a wait for the food, but it was worth it. The food is absolutely amazing at Curry King. They serve on the mild side fir spice if you don't indicate which I appreciate. They are happy to spice it if you prefer it your food with some heat. Large menu and portions size is good. We always have left overs. For the amount of food you get the pricing is reasonable. They are very kind and service is attentive without hovering. The space is quite large and it is very clean and open with lots of seating. Could easily handle large group dining. Go hungry, your belly will thank you. read more

So upon entering and ordering after being there multiple times we noticed that they have reduced the quantity of their dishes and rice per dish. Yet the price remains the same. At the register they over charged for my dish. I questioned the waitress and she lied and said it was a new dish. I pointed out the dish in the menu and she reluctantly agreed that I was right. The service was great!! The server was polite and treating as well. The food was disappointing. The tandoori platter was not tandoori at all but just some chilli sauce coated meat. The chicken tasted like old and re-heated.The briyani was not briyani at all.. it tasted like some chilli sauce coated rice.. shrimp tikka masala was not with shrimp tikka but just cooked shrimp.. the naan was ok. The food is amazing! I had the goat vindaloo, goat curry ,chicken curry, garlic naan, and the gobi pakora. I have had goat before in other restaurants. The goat was nice and flavorful. It is on the bone which enhances the flavor to the vindaloo and the curry. The gobi pakora which is a cauliflower appetizer was so good. For a drink, I recommend the mango lassi. Nice and sweet. Please ignore the 2 hangry-out-of-towner-who-shows-up-10-minutes-before-closing reviews. This joint serves delicious Indian food, and for having been open for less than a month, they are doing a great job listening to customers and taking suggestions. My family previously lived in an area of CA that has a huge Indian community and tons of wonderful Indian grocery stores and restaurants. When Curry King opened up in Brookings we were overjoyed, and joked that even if it was crappy Indian food we would eat there regularly. But it wasn't crappy, it was pretty good, and we ate there regularly. Lo and behold, Curry King Crescent City opens up shortly thereafter, and guess what? The food here is great! It's typical northern Indian fare with lots of meat options as well as vegetarian, and honestly for whatever reason this location has taken their cooking up a notch from the Brookings location. Service is not bad, wait time is what you would expect for cooked-to-order food (and we eat here with 6 kids in tow, including 2 toddlers, so wait time is important to us). Here's what we've tried so far: Matar Paneer: delicious sauce, paneer tasted fresh and homemade. Lamb biryani: tons of lamb (and no gristle!) and great flavor. Chicken tikka masala: spicy and rich and had plenty of chicken in it, rice served with it was lightly spiced and perfectly cooked. Naan: chewy and tender with lightly crisped edges, served hot as it should be. Fried chicken: fried American style but spiced Indian style, delicious and a steal of a deal for a big family. Butter chicken: super mild and creamy with lots of chicken, this is what we get for the littles. Mango lassi & sweet lassi: perfect, tangy and not overly sweet, great for cooling the heat if you order your meal on the hot side. Here's to many more years of Curry King in Crescent City! read more

The food is tasty, but somehow skimpy. Like they really don't want to give you much. I ordered a fish wrap, and didn't seem to get more than a few small bits of catfish.the vegetables were also like that; cut up tiny. I mean, aren't you guys in the business of feeding people? The service was of the sort that I dislike. A woman sat me down, took my drink order, glared at me, pretended she didn't know any English, called a girl over to finish taking my order, who acted in the same way.
