Placed lunch order online, drove 20 minutes each way only to have the restaurant closed with no reason listed! The open sign was illuminated but doors locked lights out. As much as I love their food the fact that open/closed hours are inconsistent makes eating here very difficult. So food great but inconsistent supply will lead to a quick death to this type of eatery when trying to establish itself in a community. read more

I cannot give this place enough praise. This restaurant is truly exceptional. It's spotless from top to bottom, from the moment you walk in you can tell how much care goes into the place. The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and beautifully put together. The staff deserves their own paragraph. They weren't just polite, they were phenomenal. Attentive without hovering, genuinely friendly, and always two steps ahead of what we needed. I've been to plenty of great restaurants, but this kind of service is rare. They made the whole experience feel personal. Then there's the large menu and I didn't even include pictures of their pizza menu. Every single dish that came out was cooked to absolute perfection. The flavors were layered, rich, and balanced. You could taste the care and authenticity in every bite. I've gone on food tours through various big cities across the country, but this place holds its own. My favorite cuisine has always been Mexican. Always. But after eating here, I can confidently say Indian food has stolen the crown. read more

We took visiting relatives and our neighbors out to dinner last night at Curry King. Almost all of us were quite new to Indian food. We each ordered something to share, and we ordered three kinds of naan, too, all to share. Every morsel of every dish was absolutely delicious! We will try this again soon. My skeptical husband got the chicken wrap, which was extremely generous. Half of it came home with us, and he will have it for dinner tonight while I eat the scant leftovers of all the other items we ordered. All servings were generous, enough for five of the six of us to get tastes as well as seconds, served over the very generous bowl of rice. Good beer served in the can with frosted glasses to pour into. How fun to have such an exciting new option located so close to our home! read more

Ove the past couple of weeks I have dropped into the restaurant for take out and relaxed each time with a comped glass of wine while I waited for my food. Each time everything was excellent. The second time, the chef came out with my food and explained to me that they have improved the recipe for my butter chicken (which was already quite excellent) and it was fantastic, yet again. Folks, you gotta try the Butter chicken with rice and garlic Naan!! We are lucky to have this in Brookings! If you are not familiar with Indian food, I can tell you that there is something here for everyone. Everything was absolutely delicious! We tried the fish pakora, dal tadka, paneer makhani, paratha, naan, and chai. They have a large vegetarian section with vegan items marked on the menu which we really appreciated. Our server was so sweet and helpful. We stayed in Brookings during our road trip. We tried Curry King and surprisingly it was great. To be safe, we ordered the Chicken tikka masala which tasted as good as one in Los Angeles and Orange County, CA. We took a risk and ordered Goat Karahi. Oh Lord! The goat dish was amazingly awesome. We even missed it now. We'll be ordering Goat Karahi at other Indian restaurants to compare. Maybe the dish itself is great. We don't recommend you to try it if you've never eaten goat meat before. read more

This visit wasn't the same positive experience as our first. The butter chicken was disappointing, with very little meat--just a few small shreds of chicken. Additionally, the service wasn't as attentive or friendly as it was when the restaurant initially opened. We'll probably choose the new Curry King spot in Crescent City from now on, as their food offers more flavor and a more generous amount of meat. Tried this place out for dinner for the first time and was not disappointed. We had a table of four and two of the guests had never tried Indian cuisine before. Our waiter was very friendly and helped describe some of the entrees. We ended up ordering a variety of 4 dishes to share among us all. I had the pleasure of trying Curry King on their opening day in Brookings, and I'm excited to have a new Indian restaurant in town! They kicked things off with a buffet for $19.99, and while they're still getting into the swing of things, I'm sure with time and practice, they'll find their rhythm. Where do I start? We have been wanting to try this restaurant since it opened and my daughter just tried it yesterday...she called and told us it was AMAZING! So, we went today and it was just that...AMAZING! Every dish we tried was so delicious and WOW-they make an AWESOME BBQ chicken pizza!! The naan was perfect and the samosas...YUM! We were craving Indian food and were pleasantly surprised to find an Indian restaurant in Brookings. We had a few custom requests on the dishes we ordered, palak without paneer and dal tadka with no chili. Our lovely server was very accommodating and the kitchen staff did an amazing job of fulfilling our requests, and delivered us food that very tasty. We came to celebrate a late Valentine's Day dinner and went all out! We got the Cajun chicken tenders, Chicken Biryani, chicken spring rolls, Gol gappa, Cheese naan, and mango lassi. 10/10 on the food everything was so flavorful after every bite my husband and I found ourselves saying oh my god this is so good! The service was amazing granted we had the place to ourselves, however the server had extensive knowledge of everything and even talked us out of the garlic naan and into getting the cheese naan because he had noticed we had no curry based items he suggested the cheese naan and oh my gosh again SO GOOD! The chicken spring rolls were a shock, we were expecting the crispy little spring rolls but we were impressed when we bit into this flavorful blend of chicken and sautéed vegetables in spices all wrapped into a naan bread/wrap. The gol gappa was something I have been wanted to try forever and was so excited when I saw it on the menu, these crispy little puff balls with veggies like sweet potato and cilantro it comes with a delicious light and flavorful broth you put inside and then pop into your mouth. My husband and I found ourselves coming back to the Gol gappa after every couple of bites it was the star in my opinion. The cajun chicken tenders are going to be a go to for us sweet and spiced chicken with onions and peppers you really can't go wrong! The biryani was something I wanted to get because as much as I'm talking them up now when they had first opened up we weren't fans, like every business they had their issues to work out and boy am I so glad they did and made us eat our words! Brookings needs more diverse restaurants, I love to see us slowly adding more options than just pizza, burgers and Mexican food. What a wonderful addition to the Brookings restaurant scene! This Indian restaurant's food is really good!! Delicious and fresh...not prepackaged or processed. The staff are very sweet and kind. Some other places around town have really rough staff with poor people skills. Definitely, kind folks with good people skills. We ordered several items to try things out. Oh, man! Can you say nom nom nom? Most importantly let's talk Allergens: NO soy or peanut oils in the restaurant. The food was delicious and made to order. Prepared freshly for us. They even discussed options with me to replace an allergen in various dishes and yet still keep them tasty and authentic. The chef came out to share with us that the lamb was "cooked properly, slow cooked 8 hours " and to reassure me that it was allergen free. He took real pride in offering his best cooking. Man, let me tell you...that lamb was excellent! We're looking forward to returning with family and trying out the breakfast as well, hopefully outside on the patio. Ambiance: the remodel from the previous restaurant is very nice. It's very clean and up to proper standard. Comfortable and warm inside . The restaurant is sure to please if you give it a try. Amendment to original: This building and parking are totally ADA accessible and compliant. For disabled folks, wheelchairs and walkers parking is just a few feet from the flat wide covered walkways leading to restaurant entrance. We've been trying to get to this restaurant since the opening,we love Indian food. Finally we stopped in for lunch and we had wonderful food. Nice setting with lighting, a very extensive menu with the addition of fried chicken and pizza . This time we had Indian. My husband ordered Navratan korma with garlic naan , I ordered the gobi pakora appetizer with lamb vindaloo dish .Gobi pakora was delicious so fresh, and the 2 sauces for dipping were so flavorful,plenty for 2 . Then the dinners arrived Hubby loves veggies and this Navratan Korma was full of them,along with the naan was great. My lamb vindaloo was hot and the spice level was great too, it came with a bowl of rice. Everything we tried was excellent and fresh. On June 25, 2025 I had dinner at the Curry king restaurant in Brooking. The food order was palak paneer, Daal Tadka, rice and Aaloo Kulcha. Everything was exceptionally good, very tasty and mouthwatering yummy. The service was excellent and very courteous. They went an extra mile in making sure that all the spices were added as per our request. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic fantastic Indian food. Eating here was a great experience. The staff was amiable, and the food was delicious. There was a good variety of meat dishes. Chicken tikka, butter chicken, lamb curry, egg curry, shrimp curry, and, surprisingly, goat curry! Palak paneer had a good taste. The food has good spices but is not overtly spicy. The naan was delicious. The mango lassi was refreshing. My first time visiting the restaurant for lunch with a girlfriend. We were greeted, seated,and given menus. I ordered the last wrap on the veggie wraps which actually had lamb in it. It was served with a delicious green dipping sauce and the bread/ wrap part was so fresh and delicious! I tried another sauce that was sweet. It was good also but the green sauce was the bomb. The wrap had some spice/ heat to it but not overwhelming. We both enjoyed our meal with a soda. The service, portions and atmosphere were great. The cost was just over $32 minus a tip for both of us, and we had leftovers to take home. Would I go back? In a heartbeat! Yum They are open on Monday's when some places are closed too. Looking at all the wonderful reviews I couldn't wait to go and try out our new Indian restaurant. They feature a buffet for $19.99 and my friend and I decided to try it out. It was a huge disappointment. The goat curries were very gamey. The chicken and lamb dishes were basically sauce with a little bit of meat that was so over cooked and shredded as to be hard to find. The spinach (Saag paneer) had very little flavor. There were no Indian condiments. They offered catsup, mustard and Mexican hot sauces as condiments! The Samosas were overcooked. What was good were the raita and garlic naan that were ordered off the menu. I wonder if the food is better if one orders off the menu? Sadly, I'm not sure I want to go back to find out. Staff were very friendly. There is a language barrier with some, and service was at best mediocre. read more
