    Okra curry
    Chan C.

We stop by here a few times traveling to Washington. We ordered okra curry. My husband's choice not mine. The onions in the curry were really good. The okra.... If it was the small, tender pieces the okra was great, but the larger pieces were chewy and woody. The chicken Saag: The saag was really good. The chicken they use was just tandoori chopped up and put in the saag. I prefer it when the chicken is cooked in the saag itself. The naan is luscious and fluffy. They're chai tea needed a bit more milk and I like heavier spices but that's just my preference. I would stop by here again.

Atmosphere: okay. The place is small and it can feel a bit crowded. Service: good! The staff were very friendly. Food: delicious! Portions are quite big we took our leftovers home. Everything tasted great. I will say, the lady (owner maybe?) standing in the front near the door was constantly looking at us which made us feel a bit uncomfortable as we were trying to eat in peace lol. I suggest maybe doing something other than stare at your customers eating but other than that, I recommend this place and will be back.

Went for dinner while on vacation. Was great. I had the mango curry dish with chicken mild. My husband had tandoori chicken medium spice. Also order garlic naan. Food was excellent. Service was great. Place was busy but we were seated right away.very happy we tried this.

Why do I always forget how much I love Indian food. So often sis and I want to go out, can't think of anything we want, and we end up at the same places we always go. But last week I had a yen for Indian food and when Sis asked if I wanted to go out for dinner, I suddenly remembered that I wanted Indian. Being in Lacey, Yelp recommended Curry House and I'm so glad it did because this place is great. It's a small restaurant but the decor is welcoming and they really use the space well because there are lots of tables and chairs. The food is Deelicious! That butter chicken was so good and Sis loved her chicken Korma. The samosas are super spicy, which was a little too hot for me, but the main entrees made up for that. We will definitely be back and we will return often, especially since we found out that they have a lunch buffet for $15 per person which cuts the dinner price in half. So good. Let's go!

    Paneer Pakora

Stopped by Curry House this week for a quick weeknight dinner with a few colleagues. Good indian food but I have had better at other places for sure. We stopped by around 7:30 PM and there was plenty of seating available. We ordered their paneer pakora, fish pakora, butter chicken and eggplant bharta along with garlic naan. For beverages we tried a local Indian beer - Flying Horse (delicious lager). Overall the food was good but I had a few observations. 1. Butter Chicken: Excess of ketchup and alot of food color added. Check pics for validity. 2. Fish Pakora: Both fish and paneer pakoras were good but the chutneys on the table also had food color in them especially the green chutney which had a raw onion kinda smell in it. 3. Eggplant Bharta: This was a better dish out of all things we ordered. 4. Garlic Naan: Super soft fresh garlic naan and very tasty. However, the garlic is orange in color on the naan. Food color for garlic too? I honestly thought it was grated carrot until my colleague pointed out that its garlic so not sure! Service was super quick and seemed like the server was in a hurry to serve us fast and make sure we leave fast. Ample parking in front of this place. Overall though the food was good I am not sure if I would stop by again cos I can see them add food color to the items and some items were okay.

    Goat dish

We visited for the lunch buffet today and, while the food tasted good, I was very disappointed to find two hairs in the goat dish. I politely brought this to the server's attention, suggesting that they should be more careful. Then he explained it might be a "supply chain issue" or that the hairs could have come from the goat itself. This response sounded unprofessional to me, as it seemed like an attempt to shift blame rather than address a food safety issue. I hope this matter is taken more seriously in the future to ensure better hygiene and service standards. Don't recommend this place and will never visit again.

Doesn't look very fancy. The interior is a rather small space but the service is great & the food is even better.

I wish I had gotten the chicken. I had gotten the lamb and the lamb was very firm. I couldn't cut into it with a fork or a knife and when I chewed it it was just like very chewy and you just had to keep chewing so I didn't eat it. I did let them know about the meat early on and towards the end and then I asked if you could order the sauce by itself and if I can get a small $4 container for free since I didn't like the lamb. And he said yes at first and put in the order and got it for me and then was trying to charge me for it. And then I mentioned writing a bad review and then he was going to change his mind. But at that point I just said it was too late. Very disappointing. But for Smithfield it's probably all right but next time I think I will go ahead and travel to Clayton or fuquay. There was two gentlemen sitting next to me though and they ordered something that looked really amazing but they weren't sure of the name of it but it came on like sizzling platters. They said it might have been chicken tandoori and that's probably what it was. So maybe I'll try again another timing and order that to go.

The portions have gotten smaller while the prices have gone up, the lamb is very tough and fatty and no longer tender, and the spice level is not what it used to be. I used to order a spice level 5 and barely be able to eat it, now I order a 7 and almost asked for hot sauce on the side because it tasted like a 1. I love the chicken 65 but it is now less than half of what I used to receive. The server was nice but walked away mid order to answer the phone, it just felt off. The restaurant is clean. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side, and I noticed a lot of people were ordering takeout online while we were there. Food Portion sizes were fair for the price, and they offer many vegetarian and vegan options. Highly recommend getting the garlic naan with any dish. Foods tried: Garlic naan - Hot and fresh, slightly crispy with a nice savory flavor. Samosa appetizers - Comes with two, but they are pretty large and very filling. Chicken tikka masala - Served in a deceptively large portion and very savory. Lamb biryani - Kind of like their version of fried rice, served with a mild yogurt sauce on the side. Service Servers were friendly. The only downside was that the food took a little while to come out, but the wait was worth it. Overall I've been here twice already and will definitely be back again. The food I've tried so far gives me confidence that you can't really go wrong ordering anything off the menu.
