I was tired of getting bills endlessly and not knowing when I was paid up to. the final straw was the billing calls, so I told them cancel my subscription and send me a final bill because they kept insisting that i make a payment. What they failed to tell me was they couldn't cancel my subscription. I got another call from their billing center and told them I canceled 2 weeks prior when they called, again they insisted I pay what was still owing and they told me they couldn't cancel and that I needed to call customer service which I did. They wouldn't take no to canceling. They rep said she couldn't adjust my bill reflecting I should only be billed for 18 days ?? They are a headache to deal with.

Well i never had a chance to call them or dispute it so i decided i'm just to cancel them. So as i read everyone's review on their customer service issues i was shocked. So the best thing to do is don't call them just have the bank stop payment on future payments. As for me i just changed my credit card # and got it replaced and they never got another penny. I'm glad i done that. If your dissatisfied do what i did. Cut them out monetarily. :)

I subscribed to the LA Times to keep local newspapers alive. This one deserves to die a slow…read morepainful death. It's an amateurish local news put on by high school students rag, so I cancelled my subscription online. I was pleased that they made cancellation easy. So easy that they don't even send a confirmation that you would need to look at. I had not been checking my credit card statements and just found that they never cancelled and have been charging me for about a year after I cancelled. I called customer service and was refused a refund even for the current month that they just charged yesterday. Don't give any money to this sleazy outfit.

I paid for a two year digital subscription to the LA Times a few months ago. I had previously…read moresubscribed to the delivered. paper for about 25 years, and my parents always got the paper delivered when I was growing up. It used to be a great paper with very high quality articles, opinion pieces, sports, and entertainment. In fact when I went away to school in the 80s I would buy the Sunday edition at a liquor store in Cincinnati, at great cost, because I missed the writing so much. I thought it must be like that now when I recently resubscribed. Sadly, the current newspaper is of very low quality in terms of the writing. There are still a handful of great writers but most of the articles are poorly written with no cohesion, little useful information, and no obvious editing; essentially terrible writing. And often there is an accompanying photo that has nothing to do with the article. At first I thought AI was writing the articles but I believe AI would do a better job. I already knew that the subscription price of $160 was not refundable but cancelling just now felt so good just on principle. I can only recommend that you don't waste your money like I did.

I'll start this review by saying I don't think it's fair that other yelpers gave this entire…read morepublication one star based on one staff member writing a bad review of a band they like. I did contact these yelpers to see what their issue was and after hearing their side understand their frustrations, but don't think it's right that they dole out one star reviews when even with their own admission they've only ever picked up the one issue that included the review of the band they like and considering none of them live anywhere near the community this publication serves. Bearing in mind that this is a local weekly paper I think they do a great job at keeping the community posted on things happening in and around the beach cities. I can always rely on the Easy Reader to let me know what events are coming up, what the hot issues are on each City Council's agenda, whose running for office, what new businesses have come into town and what bands are performing in my area. (Even the ones with irrational hot headed fans) The Easy Reader offices have also served as my polling place : )

She was so sweet, when I came in, she was on her way out but since she is the one processing the DBA then she went back and helped me out. She called me the next day to tell me that the docs were ready and that I could pass back anytime. I went back and she was waiting in the driveway, I even didnt have to get of the car. That was a 5 star service! I really appreciate nice people who care about other and helping. Good job EasyReader and Judy for providing this service!

Easy Reader - So over folded, you can't even read it. Their advertisers should realize nobody reads a wadded up piece of paper!

The pearl in the oyster of a bookstore. It makes me sad I do not live closer so this could be my…read moreregular book haven. The world needs more book stores like this. While I was purusing, I heard the sales associates helpiing others with book searches and book club information. It sounds like they have a number of book clubs going at the same time which makes me green with envy. Somebody please open a bookstore like this in Santa Clarita Valley, Ca.! At the time of my visit there was a children's reading event going on in the children's section. There were young adults picking out their spring break reads. There is also a courtyard and coffee shop somewhat attached. I did not try the coffee, but will the next time I am in Manhattan Beach. This is a charming bookstore, well designed, with sooo many staff picks and recommendations. Make sure to pay them a visit when you are in the area. And if you live close by, I hate you :) I paid to park on the street very close to the shop, however there may be other parking I am not sure. Happy Reading!

We walked in, she glared at us- I tried not to think much of it, but as she was finishing ringing me up I looked up to thank her and she was literally grimacing at me, and this was after she tried to hurriedly ring me up without even asking if I was a rewards member (I am) or anything else. I keep trying to give her the benefit of the doubt because I also work in retail, but girl just seems miserable. Literally I have NO other issues with any other employee there, everyone else has been so kind so I brought my review up to 4 stars from 3. But if you're going to give me a dirty look Jasmine, wait until I turn around. This is a smaller location but I'll continue to visit, I just really hope Jasmine isn't there- it's always uncomfortable when she is.

Honestly so disappointed in the customer service of this location now…read more This is a long one. I used to go to the previous location and customer service was always on point. Sales associates were friendly, helpful, and always down to talk about books. Now... I feel like I'm a bother for just wanting to buy my books and leave. This experience was the one that kinda left me wondering why do I bother with this location... (It's the closest location to me soo I guess there's that) First waiting 5 mins when multiples registers are open and only one other patron making a purchase for an associate to finally walk back to their register to help us. Young lady ended up being super friendly and all was fine - she's why this gets a redemption of 3 stars - Stardew pin gal you're cool. My family and I walk out I see a bookmark I wanted and u turn back in line. I get helped by a different woman - blond curls (really pretty hair, also I know both your names but don want you in trouble just disappointed) - who seemed completely bothered by helping me. Ok whatever we all have our days. She lets me know my membership is expired...something stardew lady missed. I ask damn ok I wasn't informed can I bring back my books return and repurchase and re up my membership. Now she seemed doubly annoyed and bothered. Come back in a few days she says. I let her know: no no we just walked out with the books they're here. She responds I know just come back in two days..... I look back at the line - empty. Umm so you want me to come back?? Yeah and just talk to whoever is here and explain what you want. Confused I walked out and hear her sigh and when I looked back the three sales associates went back to being huddled and chatting. Double checked policy.... Nope not a policy thing returning books.... TO REPURCHASE WITH MY REUPPED SUB is not against policy. Called a different store they said yeah they should've just done it in the moment. Checked stores hours not close to closing so that's not it. There have been other instances of weird stand off behavior that has left me wondering WTF is going on... Look y'all I'm not gonna tell you how to live your lives or where you should be working, just remember both sides of the counter are human and in a world where being a BIPOC is getting more and more dangerous, a friendlier attitude can go a long way.
