Sitting in my drafts for way to long is Curran's. We are no strangers to both the Bensalem location as well as the one down on State Road, we haven't gotten to try the new Rockledge location yet, but I am sure it is just as good. If you're going to Curran's... You're having wings! It is a must. Top of my list of best wings around. Always plump. Always juicy. Always packed with flavor. The rest of the menu is bar food. Nothing that stands out, nothing we have ever had to send back. The Bensalem location is noisy, especially on game days/nights and the fans are HERE to CHEER, so if that's not your vibe - Curran's is not the place for you during those times. The staff is always helpful and attentive, and the place is always clean and comfortable. Plenty of bar seating and more than enough tables to accommodate all the diehard and Fairweather Philly sports fans. Currans remains on our go to list for a drink, a meetup with friends, a quick bite, but most importantly when that wing craving needs to be satisfied. read more

Ordered a pick up order for 4/19/26, we PICKED UP. The next day we see the Tracey D added a 10 dollar tip to my order. How are you going to tip yourself when I picked up my order and charge my account more !! Apparently this is an ongoing issue. Found out it happened to others from the same place. The sad thing is I had gone there and the tacony one for years and I always tip good. I haven't been there in probably over a year and half but this is ridiculous! My son and I stopped in for lunch on a little road trip we were on. Overall the service was good I believe Tracy was behind the bar she was very pleasant. The bar was clean as far as I could tell we were also one of their first customers of the day. My son's draft beer tasted off I don't think the line was cleared maybe the beer was sitting in it all night but it definitely was a little funky. We both ordered wings and got the sprouts. Wings came out first sprouts came out second which didn't matter to us some may have wanted it the other way around. The sprouts were awesome !! The wings were just ok. Average bar wings nothing about them stood out. I was told they were excellent and we had to come here to get them and I was disappointed. They definitely weren't bad they were just ok and a little over cooked. A few were pretty dry. Overall I'd stop back if I were in the area but I wouldn't make it a destination for wings. read more

It's Tuesday and they have a wing special! Yay! That's the good part! Wings were great. The sad part is that it was not busy. We sat at a table near the bar area and were ignored for 7 minutes. Moved to empty seats at the bar, ignored for another 2 minutes while the bartender checked her phone messages. Finally flagged her down for a couple bottled beers and then had to grab a menu off of a table and ask her if I could place an order. Ugh! I was always a big fan of Curran's "aka" Pudgy's wings when I was working in NE Philly a couple decades ago. I had never been to the location in Bensalem before, so a Friday evening wing craving led me in for a visit to see if they were anything close to what I remembered. They have a decent sized parking lot behind the building and entrance doors are found in front or at the back. The inside is your typical sports bar. Lots of TV's plastered on every wall, a long bar, high tops tables, family style tables in the back and regular seating near the back of the building. They have a small patio out back and the front windows open up on a nice spring/summer day. The men's room was bright, clean and well kept. I liked the Vincent Vega/Pulp Fiction and Harry Dunne/Dumb and Dumber toilet themed portraits they had hanging on the walls The food menu is simple and has typical pub grub with some entrees. There are two items on the kids menu (chicken tenders or grilled cheese). The beer menu is simple and limited to macro brews plus a couple big beer micro brews. The service was pretty slow, but the servers were nice. The lady server on my second visit was very personable and thorough, but overwhelmed .... younger guy server on my first trip was helpful with the menu, but more of a get you in and out type. Adding another server would be a big help since they seem to have a lot of to go orders that were completely handled by the two servers working the floor. Just my humble opinion. I ordered the spicy crab soup and hot wings on my first visit. The spicy crab soup wasn't bad at all. It had a good quantity of shredded crab, veggies, a spicy bite and a balanced flavorful broth. The hot wings (on the menu as best in Bucks) were fresh, averaged sized and had a typical hot sauce on it. I was hoping for larger portion sizes, but I've certainly seem way worse. They were OK. On both visits my son had the grilled cheese with fries and gave it a thumbs up. On my second visit I had the Baby Back Ribs that came with two sides for $20. Normally I wouldn't order entrees from a bar, but I noticed the description had "Smothered in our famous award winning bbq sauce" so I had to see what that was all about. Unfortunately the ribs were a miss. The meat itself was overcooked on the ends, they badly needed a rub to penetrate the meat because it lacked flavor and the sauce although decent (I detected Dr. Pepper in the ingredient list) didn't do enough to bring the meat together. The green beans were seasoned and pretty good. The mashed potatoes were also good just a bit over salted. I wouldn't go out of my way to hit up Curran's, but it certainly had an OK neighborhood bar type of scene. Friends, families, folks celebrating a birthday, people out watching the Phillies game and locals at the bar engaged in locker-room talk with the bartender. Wife and I came here after the major snow last night with some friends celebrating a birthday. We had a great time with good food and conversation. We didn't get to hear the live music as the band cancelled out due to the weather, but our waitress advised that they have live music just about every Saturday so we might be back. Curran's has a pretty large selection of food; larger than I expected. Burgers, roast beef and pork, wings, all your bar fried food, and of course a full drink selection. Because of the weather the bar was not filled up but there were other adventurous souls who made it out. Maybe regulars? We had a high top table all to ourselves in the back corner with no one else in the large room. We had a burger, boneless wings Cajun and hot, regular wings BBQ, onion rings, a roast beef sandwich, and chicken wraps. Everything we had was good. Nothing outstanding, but fun food and drinks. The boneless wings were crispy, roast beef sandwich was piled high with some provolone, burger was grilled the way my friend wanted, and everyone was happy. The total bill came to about $185 not including tip for the four of us. Service was friendly and attentive. Maybe we'll be back for some live music! read more

Stopped in with another couple on a Friday night pub crawl up and down the Old King's Highway, aka Bristol Pike. Plenty of parking right next to the place. It is hard next to I95. Ally our server was great. Delightful and patient. We got 50 wings of Pudgy's wing sampler. With Cajun, medium and garlic Parmesan. The wings were delicious obviously just made. A bit messy but we were with dear friends so dug in. Draft beers were also tasty Yards Pale Ale. The place was crowded it was about 615p on a Friday. The crowd was simpatico. We noticed that a band was setting up. We did not stay too long after our meal. Looked like there was going to be a cover charge for the music. The wings man....wtf. Ordered 18ish wings with blue cheese and ranch dipping sauce added on for around forty dollars. Forty dollars my issue is this, for forty bucks I got some baked wings which had to been tossed in hot sauce then dried off with a towel. The wings I got had absolutely no hint of sauce, outside of the red stained skin. Also sauce was just hot sauce, for forty dollars I bought some of the driest wings in the world and brushed with tobacco sauce Never ever ever again, threw those fuckers straight in the trash and made my own. Delicious! I love there huge portion of Shepherds Pie. It has to be the tastiest pie I've ever had. The potatoes are real and hand mashed and it's always delicious. Curran's is just a run of the mill Bensalem/Northeast Philly bar. They have a decent beer selection but nothing to write home about. The food menu is actually pretty decent for bar food, I'd recommend the cheese steak. The staff is usually pretty friendly and gives effort, but they ALWAYS seem to be understaffed, which always causes you to wait forever for food and drinks. I often go for quizzo night and that's the night they always seem to be understaffed which is a shame. read more

This is a great place to go grab a few drinks, but their food is a hit or Miss. I ordered a cheeseburger last week, medium well, and it came out burnt to a crisp. Took a bit and it was so dry I could not eat it, so disgusting, not juicy at all. Hubby seems to like the ribs there, they are tender and fall off the bone. Chicken cheesesteak wraps are pretty good as well. Just don't order a burger here or you will get a hard hockey puck. read more

Husband placed an order & showed up to pick the order up and was told his order was placed at the Tacony location. He asked them to cancel that order and make the order at the Bensalem location. The owner refused and stated my husband needed to drive to Tacony; which by the way is 45 minutes out of the way . They refused to provide him service because of this. I picked up some wings before the eagles vs falcons game. I've been here before. Usually pretty boring inside, a lot of regulars and service members who don't pay much attention to you. The wings don't come with bleu cheese or celery which I find quite odd. The 20 hot wings were cold and very bland. No crunch and were in desperate need of more hot sauce. Pretty disappointing. My husband and I came here because we heard they had good wings. The wings were average and honestly nothing special. Their fries weren't bad. The most disappointing thing though was their lack of COVID precautions. We seated ourselves and chose a seat away from others but could have chosen to sit closer if we didn't have the sense not to. I could give you many stories, but to keep it short I'll mention only one. My wife and I went there after our wedding (It was down the street from the ceremony) as an after party idea with some family and friends. I was in my tux and my wife was in her dress still. We get to the bar (excited), and the bartender says "what can I get you?" I respond with "we just got married!!" I know it was obvious, but I was excited dammit. LOL The bartender responded "Well I hope you guys don't expect free drinks" I didn't even ask!!!! P.S. They do have one live band that plays there (I think on Fridays) that's really good. The original Curran's is on State Road, in Tacony. This Curran's, on Bristol Pike, opened up in 2007. Now, as someone who loves dive bars, this is not anywhere in that category. I'm just a frequent customer when it comes to this place because I live so close by. The place doesn't have a huge bar. Don't get me wrong, it's a long bar. But they could have layed out the bar better, maybe a wrap-around bar, to accommodate more stools. Plus, the bar has 2 video game machines on it, which kind of eat up a little room. The beer prices are pretty decent here, better than you'd expect. Not a huge selection on tap, but most of the customers drink Coors Lights or Miller Lites, especially the regulars. I've never ordered a mixed drink here, so not sure about those prices. When it comes to the food, they've got some winners. The wings are very good - especially the garlic wings. You have to ask for them, they're not on the menu. And another tip - I'm not a fan of their steak fries, so be sure to ask for curly fries, or shoe string fries. But, they have a solid selection to pick from, otherwise. And, the bartenders and wait staff are all cool to deal with. Overall, it's a really good spot. Like I said, I'm a bigger fan of dive bars, which is why I gave this place 4 out of 5 stars. read more

I went there to see the band, "The Real Fugitives" and they were fantastic. We got there early so that we could have dinner. Big mistake. I ordered the French Onion Soup. It was very sweet and the cheese was the consistency of bubble gum! Then, I ordered a well-done hamburger and it was pink and squishy in the middle. The server didn't come back so I couldn't tell him. I ate around the edges. The hamburger was salty and so were the fries. The bar stool was very uncomfortable. They should, at least, have regular chairs for people who want to have dinner. The water was not filtered so the ice cubes made the drinks taste bad. If I go back there to see a band, then I won't order dinner and only get something bottled. read more

My review is based solely on takeout food for the wings just so everyone knows. My wife and kids were looking to do wings one night as we had a major craving. We stopped ordering from the fresh works as they were unpredictable anymore. We checked out Hooters as it's our favorite but for $1 a wing and us having 6 in the family we thought we would pass. We decided try Currans as our neighbors have said they are the best. We ordered 100 wings since they were only $55 and hoped for the best. What we got was the best. The wings were un breaded but super thick and meaty. The Cajun and the medium were fantastic. We needed up having enough left over for all of us to each lunch the next day. They definitely have some of the best wings around, and for the price it makes it even more attractive. By the way the waitress went out of her way to help me when we figured out we ordered from the wrong location. She had an order rushed to accommodate us. Thank you for that! read more
