However, when I came in last week, I picked up book after book, and all the used book prices were exactly the same as the listed price for a new book. These are also relatively common books, not rare or special editions - not to mention, the condition was far from new. Considering that a lot of books are traded in for a substantially lower value, this doesn't seem like a very customer-friendly business practice.

They had a great selection. I was in there to find a birthday present for a friend and easily found the perfect book and cute little bday card. Prices were pretty much on par with new books these days, probably between $15-35 for the majority of titles.

Now, Easy Street Records and cafe still has the old style charm of open booth seating with every bit of sitting space used. There's always music playing and the staff has the quirkiness you would expect as they're to hold on to an old record shop that remains a popular place in the area. I am typically on the go in the morning, so I call ahead to get the Dolly Parton. The cafe is always accurate about the prep time of the food and the wait is minimal for pickup. The staff greets you with a smile that is believable and works to keep the tradition of the place going. The Dolly Parton is two pancakes, 2 pieces of bacon, and eggs any style. The pancakes are fully, but slightly spongy. The works with the syrup. I always get the scrambles eggs and typically don't get the bacon. The eggs could be cooked with a twist of salt and pepper. I hope Easy Street Records and cafe remain in West Seattle as part of the history and tradition of an old style cafe the rocks with music.

I ended up purchasing per a staff recommendation, 'Attempt at Exhausting a Place in Paris' by Georges Perec Reading the first couple of pages instantly transported back to Paris, a place I know extemely well, and I saw every bus, man, woman, child, server worker, and heard every klaxon and shouted obscenity. Do yourself a favor and search out Elliot Bay Book when you visit Seattle, you'll be supporting a local business and feeding your mind and soul.

This store is massive and is in a warehouse style building. The selections for vinyl records are is extensive with a mix of both used and new. I ended up picking a few vinyls during my hour of exploring through their racks. I was excited to finally acquire Santana and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Pricing was on the higher end. There were a few vinyls that were priced lower from other online retailers. I also explored their dvds and books section. They offer both used and new copies. Service was excellent. The staff assisting me provided some great information on their rewards program. Customers can accrue a rebate of 5% in the form of points on any purchases. The points can then be used to purchase any item in store or website. Lastly, there are both street and private lot parking available.

I have been a Kinokuniya Bookstore member for many years and recently renewed my membership while…read morepurchasing 10 books. At the time of purchase, I specifically asked about the return policy and was told that returning books would be "no problem" as long as they remained unopened in their original plastic wrapping. When I later returned to exchange or return three of the books 10 days later, I was told that I could not do so because I did not have my receipt. This requirement was never mentioned when I asked about returns. As a longtime member, my purchase is documented through my membership account, so it is disappointing that this record could not be used to verify the transaction. I find this level of customer service unacceptable. If a receipt is required for returns, customers should be clearly informed of that at the time of purchase, especially when they specifically ask about the return policy.

I ended up with two records from Donna Summer and Rick James. Not a popular genre for some, but I love disco! And who didn't dig such a catchy tune, Super Freak?! I asked the barista with curly hair if it was made with oat milk, it was just made so they should know, but they paused and looked at the ticket and said it was made with oat milk. I had three other friends try it as well, clearly whole milk. I eventually got the attention of another and asked them to remake it since I have bad lactose intolerant issues. They did, but it still didn't have an oat milk taste, just not like whole milk. The rest of the day and this morning I've been having stomach pain and issues while not having dairy from any other place. While the vibes of this place are nice and they offer fun events, I'd caution anyone with dietary restrictions to double check everything is good. Insane to charge $1.25 for alt milk and not get it.
