Don't think twice. Just go!!!! You won't be disappointed :) I went in not knowing this place had won on cupcakes wars. I can definitely understand how they win the judges over. I love the ever changing variety and the cupcakes have always tasted super fresh unlike some other places in the area. read more

After hearing so much about this place and always walking past it, I was finally able to come in and try cupcrazed cakery ! I was so excited considering I heard they won cupcake wars. So I walked over and bought about two dozen and a cake pop for me and my coworkers ! We loved it! Cupcakes are my favorite desert and now I found my favorite place to go to! I used to go to Gigi's in charlotte but this one is close to home and has so much more to chose from. I had the red velvet cupcake and my my. There title as cupcake war winners are deserved! It was moist, creamy, sweet, and the ingredients mixed in were just right! It couldn't have been any better! There cake pops too were also amazing! I absolutely love this place and there beautiful little shop! I am so happy they are close cause I have a sweet tooth for you guys! I'm coming back soon and congratulation on your title! read more

I was really excited to see Cupcrazed Cakery at the Brewer's Ball and even more excited that the owner encouraged me to take one of each! Yes, my dates dietary restrictions stopped him from eating any but I had no problem scarfing down bites of all 5 (hey they were mini's!) - here's how they stacked: In order of favor: 1) Red Velvet - oh.my.god I would give CC 3 stars but this delicious cupcake is the reason this business gains a fourth star from moi. Perfect in every way...this was the only one I ate in it's entirety. 2) Hummingbird- Muffin meets cupcake. I suppose this had more traditional muffin flavors (cinnamon, nuts, fruits) but I thought these were tasty as well. 3) Oreo - tasted very much like an oreo...they had the frosting down. I needed some milk for this one though that's for sure. 4) Shrimp Creole- I'll give them props for providing a savory cupcake, but this wasn't something I would purchase myself. 5) Sweet Tea- To be fair I am not a huge fan of regular Sweet Tea (GASP!) I like tea a little less sugar-crazed ...these cupcakes were enough to cause instant cavities ..and therefore I didn't care for them. read more

I did it! The search is over (well for this month) and everyone can thank me later. I am pleased to announce that I officially had the best cupcake in the Charlotte area at this point in my search. Cupcrazed made a peaches and cream cupcake this past Friday and it was just beyond words. Literally, I can't even describe it. It was just perfect. It tasted like peaches and cream oatmeal that somehow magically converted into a cupcake. It was done very well. I would have loved a few more chunks of peaches and maybe a peach compote center of some sort but overall, very very well done!!!! 2nd runner up is the Chocolate covered strawberry cupcake at Polka Dot. I will continue the search throughout the year but Cupcrazed certainly deserves to be mentioned for this fabulously crafted cupcake!! read more

Call me a Cupcrazed crazy; I dream about this place and have been known to drive 30 minutes out of my way to satisfy an itch. Before discovering Cupcrazed, I was wary of cupcake establishments, as I have often discovered that a bad cupcake is easy to find. Too many times, I've bit into a dry and crumbly disappointment, or grimaced as the icing has been too sugary sweet - not so with Cupcrazed. As many have noted, Heather McDonnell won the Food Network's "Cupcake Wars," and one bite proves it was an award well-received. Each bite is moist, rich, and flavorful and kicks all other candidate's depressing attempts. The flavor options change daily (although chocolate, vanilla, red velvet and classic carrot will always greet you with a smile) and are simply mouthwatering; today's flavors include Strawberries n Cream, Cinnamon Fritter, Cafe Mocha, Blueberry Pancake (Regular and 21+), 24 Karat, and Caramel Bacon. Cake pops and themed cookies are also available, if those sweets are more your speed. Speaking of speed, free wi-fi is a nice bonus for customers looking to comfortably hang out and pass the time in the super-cutely designed store. read more

This shop is amazing! It is so cute and cozy inside with nice couches to sit on. Very nicely decorated! I was so impressed with the friendliness of the staff. Heather is great and I was very glad to meet her. You can tell she puts a lot of care into what she does. The cookies are sooooo delicious! Perfect desserts and awesome environment!!!! read more

3.5 I seriously can't give any cupcake stores anything less than 4 stars. I love cupcakes! But living in DC, I know what good cupcakes taste like! I got a red velvet cupcake. The cream topping was perfect. It was smooth and creamy. I only wish they put slightly more on top. The cupcake itself was slightly dry in the inside but I can tell they were trying to compensate for that by putting more oil on the outside of the cake which made the outside too greasy. I almost felt gross eating the last bite because I can see the oil glistening on my fingers. Not a great sight. I got two other cupcakes but I didn't try them and gave them away. Guilt got the best of me. :) read more

Who would have thought cupcakes could be so delicious.. So many flavors and so delectable. Decor of the place is great too, staff was very friendly. read more

A very delicious and reasonably-priced cupcake! As a baker myself, I give kudos to Cupcrazed for having a very tasty product! On my visit, there was an extensive selection available from which to choose. After perusing the very well stocked display counter, I settled on a Heath caramel and a PB&J cupcake. The cake crumb wasn't fine but it was quite tender. The cupcakes had a little weight to them, but they weren't dry or heavy. They were just filling enough! I would love for the batter to have a little more buttery rich flavor. And, while I have tasted many frostings with much more sugar and shortening, it would be nice for their frosting to have just a little less sugar. Also, by way of confession, I had plans to have the cupcakes up in my bed later that night. However, I had only a sample of each before I feel asleep. But no worries, this is a good thing which allowed to me to test for next day freshness... and they passed! They were still quite delish the next day! The bakery is a little small and cramped, but I get the decor and mood they're trying to set. But I really wouldn't advise that you consume this goodness on the premises. Trust me, you will want to take these home and partake in the privacy of your own home with your feet elevated! The biggest problem I have is that the location is just down the street from my house... not a good thing!! read more

A friend recommended this place to buy me a birthday sweet after our lunch. I had the snickers cupcake she had the chocolate vanilla one, if I remember correctly. The place is cute and small and business was pretty steady while we were there. I think it's great that they offer the little cartons of milk which goes well with the cupcakes that are quite rich. I would certainly return for a sweets fix if in the area. read more

These cupcakes are average cupcakes with no flavor. They're pretty and great to look at and that's about it. Was excited to buy after watching food network, now I question food network judgement. Ordered a dozen cupcakes and they all have the basics icing with too much butter and topping. Cupcakes are dry and not moist like they should be. I purchased the sour patch which was a basic cake with sour patch candy on top. Triple caramel which was butterscotch and plain icing drenched in salt. And I purchased vanilla which taste like Walmart cupcakes. The staff is friendly but the cupcakes make your mouth dry and the icing is very sweet. I personally will be sticking with Fuman Chu cupcakes with flavored icing and cake. I have to stop comparing cupcakes in North Carolina to those in Colorado. read more

Amazing and delicious!! They have a huge variety of cupcakes, cookies and cheesecakes. The service is always nice and everyone is so friendly. They have a cute and eclectic sense of style. My favorite is the Pineapple Upside-Down Cake Cupcake, and the Cherry Pie Cupcake is great too! read more

So many great choices it's hard to pick just one! I never had a cupcake I didn't like. The cake is insanely rich and moist and the frosting is perfect. Really no bells and whistles about the place. What you see is what you get. Not a bad thing per se. Get in, get your cupcakes, get out. Cupcakes are a bit pricey but they are always worth it. If you want to try more than one be sure to come on a day where they run quantity specials. Be aware that on busier days (Friday, Saturday) they close when they are out of cupcakes. Rarely on Saturdays are they open until their advertised closing time. To ensure you get the cupcakes you want get there early! Cupcrazed does a great job updating their social media pages with the flavors of the day and the latest news. Be sure to check out Facebook before coming. I take all my out of town visitors to Cupcrazed upon arrival. A must visit place in Fort Mill/Baxter. read more

Eh... cupcakes can be dry and just not good. Maybe I've had off days? I think they are expensive too.

Paid $30 for a dozen cupcakes. All of them except for the 4 chocolate ones I got were rock solid and dry. Every time I order something other than chocolate, it turns out super dry. The chocolate ones are delicious, but I wasted $30 on 8 hard cupcakes..Disappointed. read more

The cupcakes were okay. My favorite one was the Oreo, it was a moist chocolate cake with a fluffy creme frosting with oreos on top. The Reeses was just chocolate cake, the frosting maybe had a pinch of PB, not too sure. The rest of the cupcakes (pic attached) were dry. The banana pudding and coconut creme had a little bit of filling, but not enough. They were good, but not as good as they look. read more

LOVE this wonderful, cozy, small-town sweet shop. Not only are the employees incredibly sweet and the atmosphere positively perfect, the cupcakes are to die for. I've sampled quite a few and my favorites are Strawberry Shortcake ( absolutely the best cupcake and shortcake I've ever had in my life) and the Pina Colada (pineapple filling is heaven.) This is my go-to spot for a quick treat for the kids, a gift certificate for teachers, or a little pick-me-up for a friend. YUM, people. YUMMMMMM. read more

Drove all the way from Charlotte today (7/5/16) at 11:45am only to find the D*mn place did not open today!! I had already called and there was no indication that they were gonna be closed. I even went to their website and saw the "Daily Flavors" of the day but no indication that they were going to be closed today. Had they bothered to post on their website that they would be closed 7/5/16 I would have saved myself 1 hour of my day, wasted gas, and frustration! No, I don't have an Instagram account and no I don't consult social media before I go shopping or to a restaurant. read more

It's amazing what a little imagination, a lot of creativity and heaping amount of baking know-how will get you. Like, yummy and moist cupcakes. Not only are the cupcakes, cookie cups and other snack delicious, the atmosphere is just quirky enough to keep your eyes on a constant hint for all the fun finds. For example, a leg lamp like that found in A Christmas Story, a fully bedazzled Wizard of Oz movie poster and fun bumper stickers. Yes, Heather and her team have killed it on Food Network. Yes, the treats are worth the hype (and the drive). Yes, you should go try it for yourself. read more

My favorite spot to get cupcakes. I love looking at the different flavors on their Instagram page. The treats are a little pricey but worth it for the quality. My husband loves their stuffed cookies. read more

Cute store, lots of choices that rotate but all look great in the case, the cupcakes are sold per piece or by the 1/2 dozen or dozen. There are lots of signs throughout the store; about boxes costing extra and about choices changing. A bit off putting, probably meant to be seen as "sassy". The cashier didn't know what Hummingbird cakes were even though they were lying in the case the day I stopped in. Guess I'm not ordering one of those. I went for the basics. I ordered 6 to go, came to $16. Definitely a treat and not an all the time indulgence. I personally had the carrot cake, the chocolate cake w/chocolate frosting and the vanilla cake with white frosting. All good but sweet for my taste. I was told the red velvet was good, the peanut butter chocolate was nothing special. All of the cupcakes were rich and large. I wouldn't travel from Huntersville to get these again. read more

I got to sample the red velvet cupcakes at Yelp's Live & Local event and honestly I haven't stopped thinking about them since! I ranted and raved to my closest friends and even my mom about these cupcakes because they were so delicious! I'm trying to make my way to Fort Mill so I can pick some up to share with everyone so they can see how good they are for themselves. Excited to see and try all the other flavors available! read more

Cupcakes are the new frozen yogurt. I mean, blink, and there's someone new selling cupcakes. They've become like another accessory for the discerning hipster. Thing is, I take my cupcakes very seriously, hipsters be damned. And there are a lot of BAD cupcake establishments in this town. But nestled away in this Stepford Village, tucked in between some of the worst eating establishments this side of the NC/SC state line, is one fine cupcake establishment. The Cupcrazed Cakery aspires to greatness, and greatness it achieves. Their cupcakes are made the way a cupcake is supposed to be made, with the cake moist, the icing smooth, not so sugary that it'll make your head spin. With several different flavors and concoctions to choose from, cupcake fans such as myself won't be disappointed with anything the Cupcrazed Cakery ever has to offer. So heed me, O Cupcrazed Cakery: don't mess with what works. You stay awesome. And delicious. And I'll keep coming back for seconds and thirds. Who cares if they're bad for you? Live a little, I say. read more

Wow! Such an amazing place! The cupcakes are to die for and the service was spectacular! Will be coming back for more!

I recently stopped at this location with my daughter. We asked if cups of water were sold or free. They reply was no. As we continued to eat our cupcakes, we saw a cashier bring cups of water out to guest after us. It made me wonder why were we denied cups of water when the others could get it. Was race a factor? Needless to say, this was our first and last time at this establishment! read more

Looked good, tasted bad. Granted it was a smash cake for my kid's birthday but the cake was nearly inedible. The cake was extremely dense, thick, and heavy. The buttercream was sickeningly sweet - so much so you could feel and taste the granulated sugar. I hate to write this review because the staff was responsive and timely in their communication and preparation of the cake. They were also very kind when I arrived. read more

When I moved to Fort Mill, I had to say goodbye to some of my favorite cupcake places back home. I was pleased and relieved to see a specialty cupcake place in the neighborhood. Cupcrazed has a great variety and some really inventive flavors like Pb&J or Popcorn. While I sometimes find that not all of the flavors are hits with me, I don't mind the occasional mediocre cupcake because I also have a few favorites --- in particular their Sweet Tea flavor and I think it's a Cafe Mocha (?) flavor. I'm such a fan that sometimes my husband surprises me with cupcakes from here instead of the usual flowers. Yes, he's a keeper. read more

What can I say? I have tried numerous local cupcake bakeries and this one sets the bar quite high! So many flavors to choose from! I don't even go nuts for sweets like cupcakes, but I think I got a s'mores cupcake that was out of this world. Food Network, you never prove me wrong! The cupcakes were moist and delicious. Although, the frosting was a bit on the sweeter side so i could only eat 1 at a time. i like this place. i know i do because i drive all the way to fort mill just to go when i "do" decide to go. The reason why i like it is because of the exciting new flavors. that although unique, not too over the top for non risk takers to want to dive in. i myself am a risk taker but i love that i can get boston baked bean, and someone else just get red velvet lol to play it safe of course. they can be a tad sweet sometimes. but they usually are spot on with their name so ill take it. and i love $2 tuesdays..... makes my week not seem so dull until hump day. ;) read more

These cupcakes are always moist, always good, and almost always have a good selection (if you get there in time, why it doesn't lose a star for this). We live up in Mooresville, which if you are not familiar is a pain in the ___ commute to get to CupCrazed...that being said, we routinely will make the drive down to South Carolina JUST for these cupcakes, and will not go anywhere else for cupcakes....so I guess what I am saying is, these cupcakes are pretty darn good. read more

I was so excited to try out these cupcakes! My husband and I ordered 8 because we couldn't decide on just 1 flavor each. When we got them home I tore into my first cupcake. I was sooo disappointed. The cake part was SUPER dense and dry. I bet the one cupcake weighed 2 lbs... and it wasn't the icing. I thought, maybe it's just the one. So I tried another. Same result... VERY dense and dry. So sad because I wanted to love them. Flavor profiles are good, but that's about it. read more
