Firstly, the food was not to my liking. They went extremely heavy-handed with the sauces (couldn't see the food underneath) and that was all the flavor I could taste. Rice seemed undercooked but the noodles were an okay texture. Dumplings weren't bad and rather the best part. I ate about half the bowl and had to trash the rest. Ended up with stomach problems after so good thing I stopped. An important thing to note also is if you have food allergies (like my husband does), please be aware that there is the possibility of the employee serving you will have no idea what is in the food (and seemed unwilling to check) nor the proper procedure to handle a situation like that. We were in Meridian for a tennis tournament and decided to try this place. Menu was simple but adequate. We ordered two Korean beef cups and one chicken.($8 each) The cups are built with steam rice on the bottom, clear noodle, meat, then the sauces. You have a choice of how spicy you want. I had baby spicy and was just right for me. The boys had a 3 and a 5 level spicy. We got a complimentary gyoza dumplings for leaving tips and they were yummy. We ate all of our food. I did think I had Too much sauce. I'd ask for easy on the sauce next time. The boys received a high schooler meal deal which came with free drinks. Overall, it was yummy and I'd recommend it. OK I'll admit it. This place .. WOW. Korean food is awesome but cupbop brings a whole new level to the experience. Be warned though getting your dish above a 7 rating in heat, you better have an iron gut.. for certain. The customer service is excellent, and the employees here really care about their customers a great deal. I always love to come to cupbop both food trucks or stores when I was in Utah. So, I tried the store in Boise and it does not disappoint. The taste is the same (delicious) as in what we used to try in Utah. We tried the beef bulgogi, spicy pork and, of course, the delicious mandoo... In fact, the Boise server is more generous in giving the rice, noodles, vegetables and meat... which reminds me of the first time CupBop started in Utah with its food truck and a number of yelp events. Anyway, the service is great and they are very willing to compensate the rice with noodles or vegetables if you don't need to much of anyone of them. we tried this for the first time yesterday for a birthday dinner as we had heard a lot about it. We all loved the food and the manager saw that it was a birthday and threw in a free keychain and cards for three free cupbops for my daughters birthday, as well as free potstickers, because we had left a tip! Of all the places this food truck could open up a storefront, they do it in the town where I live - Eagle, Idaho. Yeah! Tucked away in the northeast corner of Chinden and Linder, where the Fred Meyer is. Take your pick of several bowls built with different ingredients. The gig is rice, veggies, meat (or not), and sauces to top it off that you pick your heat level from 1 to 10. I haven't ventured past level 2. My favs so far are the Korean beef bowl and the Doochi, which is kimchi and tofu on top of the veggies and rice. Grab a fountain drink and have a seat while watching K-pop on the TV. Make sure and leave them a tip and there's a very good chance they'll hook you up with some free Mandoo (potstickers). read more

We love Korean food and eat it often, so we were excited to try Cupbop. It was pretty disappointing. The bulgogi was nothing like bulgogi. The meat didn't seem marinated at all, and it was grainy and tough. The marinated chicken and pork also lacked good flavor. Not sure the "fresh meat" slogan applies. They were sold out of the fried chicken unfortunately, which looked promising. Also the quantity of meat was tiny, not that it mattered since we didn't like how it tasted and pushed it to the side. The concept has so much potential, if they just used better quality products and marinades. Not sure we'll try it again :( read more

Pretty dang delicious!!! The menu is nice and small, but boy does it pack a punch! They have sweet potato noodles, who would have thought sweet potato noodles are transparent? Just so you know, they are! Cupbop creates parfaits of heavenly goodness! All of their bowls come with rice, cabbage or lettuce and noodles. You pick your meat to go with this yummy bowl. Now, you pick your sauce. They have all sorts of sauces to please your pallet. You pick the spice level, they will whip up the perfect match your flavor. Don't forget the mandoo... deep fried tasty dumplings! I threw a tip in the tip jar because the server was so helpful to my cupbop virgin self and BAM... I got free mandoo! What a pleasant surprise! I recently saw Cupbop on Shark Tank and ordered some for dinner the following day. There are 4 in my family and 2 are picky eaters, so I called during the day and asked if it would be better to call in the order or to do it online. The man said to do it online and make any notes, or changes in the comments section of each meal. So that's what I did. Nothing to complicated. My kids just didn't want cabbage and one just wanted noodles. We all wanted different levels of spicy. So I ordered it online 2 hours before I needed to pick it up, just so they had time to get everything correct. I got there at 5:30, went in and the young man said, "oh, it looks like your ticket didn't print." I told him I didn't need a receipt, but what he meant was no one ever received the order. Therefore nothing was ready. They went ahead and took their time (there was 4 people working the counter) talking and continuing their personal conversations and didn't look like they were in any kind of hurry (and didn't appear to be paying much attention to the dishes.) I will be the first to admit I'm a little bit of an ethnic food snob. While I can totally dig me some Boise Fry Company, I really love authentic ethnic food. I've seen this food truck around here and there and was interested to try it out. They're tucked into a corner of Eagle Island shopping center, near Dekalash and Cookie Cutters. Parking was easy because the other couple businesses in that little nook haven't really taken off yet. When I walked in my eyes were assaulted with a bright yellow motif. I supposed it's considered modern but my eyes were bleeding so...I don't know. Also, there was no one else there when I was so the music was blaring. A cashier looked up disinterestedly when I came in. While I looked over the menu (tiny, but hey - sometimes you have a few items and you do those items really, really well), a guy finally wandered up to the food line. Yay. He didn't even say hi until I did. I ordered KKO KKO bop. The sweet potato noodles were good. I asked for two of the sauces they listed and they had neither. The guy smirked and said they hadn't "gone to the store" to pick it up yet. Uh...wut? The veggies were...well, veggies. Nothing to write home about. The meat was fatty and may have been better with a sauce to complement but I'll never know. The fatty part is authentic, at least :D Overall, the best part here was the noodles. The customer service was pretty much nil. The ambience was...nonexistent. Food quality is not great; it's mediocre at best. If I were to try this place again, I might try the ugly bop just because it's a cute name and it's basically fried chicken on rice and noodles, right? Can't go wrong with that. Probably. Was in the area, so decided to try this for the first time. The place is sort of cold and all hard services. So the Korean TV program sounded like automatic weapons fire inside of a concrete bunker. You can't even hear the servers' questions. I could do without it. The food choices are tasty. We had the Tofu and Kimchi Bowl and the Fried Chicken Bowl. Both have a bed of white rice, a little lettuce or cabbage, and sweet potato noodles. Put on the protein choice and the sauce of choice. All bowls run from about $7.50 and $8.50. They were quite filling and different than the Flame broiler which I have heard this compared with. But, I would only go back if in the area and needed a quick meal. To be honest, for the same price, I would rather have a lunch special plate at Wok Fusion. More choice, tastier food, and quieter. My main suggestions would be: 1) quiet the background noise, 2) Serve brown rice as an option, 3) Have Tea as a drink option, 4) Find a Gochujang Hot Pepper Paste. I wouldn't call this food authentic, but it is delicious and a wonderful break from the basic food options in the Boise area. The vibe is a little weird/trendy, but the service is great and all the employees are super nice and helpful. *TIP- If you give them a tip at checkout then they will sometimes reward you with a side of potstickers for free. Finally able to try out the new store location. Was greeted by 3 very happy employees who were eager to help me through the process of ordering. I went with the combo beef/pork bowl and cabbage instead of lettuce. Sauce I did medium heat and the flavor was excellent. The mando didn't impress me much as it reminded me of any pre frozen asian dumpling you can buy in the freezer section of your local market. One big surprise was the actual size of the bowls. Don't be fooled by the photos as they seem to make it look "cup" size when in fact it's a very good portion. Next time I will for sure try the fried chicken option. I ate here right after it opened. I was so excited, it has been a long time since I've had bulgogi from a Korean restaurant, and I dream of the day when I can eat like I ate in Korea. What I got really underwhelmed me. Maybe I have to go back, perhaps they were still figuring out how much to give, because the other reviews say that the helpings were good. Mine had almost no meat. I had been wanting to try Cupbop for a long time and finally did a month or so ago. I like less meat so i got noodle bop and tried one of my friends potstickers from there. I have a higher spice tolerance than all my friends and got 7.5 and it was plenty spicy and flavorful. Next time I will probably get mandoo bop without rice. I love rice but it was sad to get to the bottom of my cup and have rice without any sauce. Maybe if i could get some sauce on the side it would solve my problem read more

OK, this is an updated review. I recently gave CupBop another try and have to say the experience was VERY different. The food was awesome and juicy, the help was respectful and attentive. Great food and service. We eat here a couple times a week because our 2 year old eats mandoo and rice like a champ! I love the kko kko bop!

Always friendly, clean and outside eating available. Food was hot and extra sauce on the side is nice to have at no additional cost.

The food was good overall, the pork had great texture and flavor and the rice wasn't to dry or mushy. It's exactly what I'd expect from a moderately priced Korean restaurant. Most of the tables and floors were dirty. We had to wait about 6 to 7 minutes before we were noticed by the staff, but the woman who served me apologized profusely and gave my party of two free drinks as well as free dumplings upon our departure. If you're in the area and craving some big portions of Korean BBQ in a cup for a great price, then I'd recommend Cupbop! Child size, Vegan, Kosher, and Gluten Free options are available. read more
