The brunch at cup cafe does not disappoint. They don't take reservations but I had a group of 6 that's was sat within 30 min during prime time brunch on a Sunday. While you wait a Bloody Mary and mimosa bar are available as well as plenty of seating for waiting. The Bloody Mary bar was delicious as it's a build you own with a lot of different combinations. The patio is large with plenty of heaters even in the winter. I got the creole breakfast as my meal and it was delicious! The biscuits and gravy were my favorite party and probably the best I've ever had. All my guests enjoyed their meals as well. Recommend for a great vibe and also love music! read more

We arrived at 9:25 and were told we'd have.a 30 minute wait. Ok, we'll wait and could we sit inside...yes. We waited 45 minutes and were asked if outside would ok and we accepted the outside seating. Then we waited at our outside table for 20 minutes before anyone even spoke to us and I believe the only reason Colin said anything is I turned sideways in my chair waiting for him to be done speaking with the table behind me. After saying he'd be right with us he served coffee to the table text to us asked another table if they wanted anymore coffee and then came to us. We ordered our breakfast and drinks at 10:44. We cot our drinks delivered at 10:55. Still no Colin to be seen then our breakfast was delivered at 11:20, not by Colin our server. Maybe that's how they run things, it keeps you in a place you can't hold any one person accountable for the lousy service. My brother paid the tab leaving a 20% tip against my recommendation. The food was decent But not worth the horrible service! First stop after landing in Tucson! My fiancé and I made our own Bloody Marys at the bar while we were waiting for our table. Very fun, and super customizeable! We had a wonderful COVID night with Cup. Only the patio had service and everyone had more than 6' of social distancing. All the staff and many patrons had masks. Everything was cleaned thoroughly. Even better the staff were very friendly, helpful and relaxed. The evening was relaxing, beautiful and felt very safe. The food itself was what we have come to expect from The Cup, if not even better, perhaps because we have missed it, but regardless if was delicious. We started with the fish tacos, house salad, and watermelon soup. The tacos and salad were great but the watermelon soup was extraordinary. It had a touch mescal and was cold and spicy and sweet. For dinner we had the Sonoran sopes with shrimp, which were perfectly cooked with a fresh pico and avocado. We also had the pesto pasta with steak. The pesto was not too oily, pasta al dente, and steak medium rare. Everything was excellent. They had a limited number of their wonderful deserts but the oatmeal cranberry cookies were perfect for the end of the night. If people really feel the urge to go out and want somewhere that feels very safe and have great food. The Cup is still worth their 4-5 star rating! read more

Always a disaster when it comes to this place. Last time we had tickets to a show at the Century Room and waited over 45 min to get our food. When we got our food it was not partially cold. Cup Cafe is located inside of the historical Hotel Congress. The Cup Cafe was opened in 1990 but the hotel itself is roughly 100 years old. Walking inside of the hotel to the restaurant is a really unique experience. Strawberry Agua Fresca: This drink is composed of strawberries mixed with water, lime juice, and sweetener. I found the drink to be very refreshing. The drink had just the right amount of sweetener, and the strawberry's they used were really fresh. Creole Breakfast: Andouille sausage, two eggs, breakfast potatoes, house-made biscuits and gravy. The eggs were poached perfectly, but the andouille sausage was too salty. The breakfast potatoes and biscuits and gravy were bland. The potatoes actually had no seasoning on them. Cast Iron Baked Eggs (substituted fruit for potatoes): This dish is composed of poached eggs, ham, leeks, shallots, Gruyère, and herbs. I was expecting this dish to be too heavy, but it wasn't as heavy as I assumed. All of the pictures I saw looked as if the eggs were in a pool of the cream, but they aren't. Overall the dish taste good. My only complaint is that the poached eggs were overcooked. read more

Cup Café...makes me want a plate of gnocchi just thinking about this place! We had an absolutely delicious meal here, and I'm still singing the praises of the chef, for the mushroom duxelle on that stuffed-chicken dish. Our table also enjoyed the pork schnitzel and the desserts (coffee cake and coconut-cream pie). We were on the patio for an incredibly hot monsoon evening, and a staff member went out of his way to stop and move an umbrella closer to us, to avoid raindrops, and also to point the air-cooler in our direction (without our even wanting to ask, since he was busy and also juggling a stack of glasses). Our server was excellent too, tending the table at just the right pace, and everyone on the team made us feel invited to be there. We had dinner last night at the Cup Cafe and sat on the patio. The ambiance was very nice but seating next to the building had to deal with sun blindness. I suggest requesting a table with a patio umbrella. I ordered the Fish & Chips dinner and the fish was left in the fryer too long and the crush so hard that it was nearly unedible. Aside from good coffee, the Cup Cafe brings three things to the table. (1) Enjoyable historic and downtown location, (2) superb service, and (3) incredible food. First, the location is almost worth the trip in itself. To get to the cafe, you have to walk through the historic Hotel Congress. This was our 2nd visit to Cup Cafe, almost exactly a year apart. We had an excellent lunch, the staff were all amazingly concerned that we were comfortable, we had maybe a 15 min wait for our table and the host and server were unnecessarily apologetic, they seated us as soon as was possible. Our lunch was outstanding, everything was delicious. They had a special pickled cucumber salad which basically was to die for. I'm iffy about cucumber salads. We share and I could easily have eaten a whole order myself. We ordered too much food for the two of us but it was hard not to eat all of it. We had the lettuce wraps, then an order of fish and cauliflower tacos. All outstanding. I had an Americano and we couldn't resist the coconut cream pie--just plain amazing. What's not to love about a cute indoor/outdoor café in the heart of Tucson? Plus the patio is dog friendly! A great place for brunch, lunch, dinner or just appetizers and a drink. Right now they have a few vegan items on each menu, very delicious and thought out. Went today with my son (8) and my Grammy. We were blown away. First the server, Aiden. Wow. His energy was so enlightening and beautiful. So joyous. He made us all feel like we knew him. Like he would be the friend you explain to everyone as "so kind and happy, brings light into the room". He was tentative. Informative. Told us his favorites. We got the Chilla Quiles which was recommended by him and he was spot on with how delicious they were. Well made tons of flavor absolute perfection. The fruit was so fresh and juicy. My Grammy got the Huevos rancheros and absolutely loved it and that's her favorite dish so she's pretty picky. She loved the flavor and loved her potatoes. My son went with a classic breakfast and he said it was the best he's ever had. I had a cold brew coffee it was strong and perfect my Grammy had a coffee and absolutely loved it. The rest of the staff was super friendly when it came to refilling drinks and cleaning our table. They would ask us so politely and they were just so refreshing. You could tell that they put a lot of effort into picking a really amazing staff and training and then also they have what seems to be pretty high expectations on what food leaves the kitchen. I was visiting my parents over Christmas and we were looking for an alternative to the pricey hotel brunch buffets up in the foothills and luckily for us we found Cup Cafe in the Hotel Congress. I made a reservation a few days prior with no problems (but be aware you need a cc to hold it, and in case of no show you'll be charged). Street parking in Tucson was free Christmas morning which was an added bonus. After a brief check-in and wait, we were seated in the large ballroom (home of Club Congress?). The room was bright and spacious, which helped add to the brunch experience. Our waiter was nice and pleasant and we received our food in quick fashion. Everyone was very happy with their meals. I ordered the short rib eggs bennies which was a special limited time holiday dish and was surprised how awesome it was. The shredded short rib meat was very moist and tasty, and eggs were poached to perfection. The hollandaise sauce was perfect as well. The potatoes were also super nice, with a crispy exterior and plenty of flavor. To top it off my benny was served in the shape of a heart, love it! We got the bill and it was very reasonable, and much much less than if we had made our way to the foothills. The cast iron skillet sounds good, but the eggs were overcooked, the yolks dry, and the 3 cubes of ham dint really merit the $22 ]price tag. The breakfast potatoes which are whole boiled baby potatoes were also dry & tasteless. The server could not bother to even be found to top off our coffee, which had gone cold while hoping to catch her. Finally had to shout down another server. The place did not seem busy. Parking was a nightmare. Meters are broken, the app doesn't download, but we did learn the our server has to pay for continual parking throughout the day during her initial visit to our table. This is my third time here for an espresso drink and baked dessert. Thus far my favorite stop in Tucson before heading back home to Sedona. As a bonus, at times there is live music being played outside. The beauty and quirks of the Congress Hotel adds to its esthetic. Thankfully, parking has always been easily accessible a few feet from the entrance. Thanks to the staff member Gabe, their Raspberry Moose Cake reconditioned and of course the bakers, keep coming and brining my relatives/friends. Golden milk latte with a shot of espresso is my go to beverage. Out of the 5 pies/cheesecakes I have gotten to try absolutely none come close to that Raspberry Moose Cake. When my birthday comes around I now know where to order my special treat. For dinner I had the happy hour special drunken fish tacos with a side of hail, Caesar salad. The tacos we're nice but the real star was the salad. The best Caesar dressing I've ever had (as of yet). Next time this will be my entree of choice. I have always sat at the bar and it was an okay experience. Today I sat outside by the fence of the outdoor stage and it was not only beautiful but a much more enjoyable take.
