We ordered adult beverages and they arrived fairly quickly. Even though it was Friday, we turned down the fish special and opted for soup and sandwiches. We both ordered the French onion soup. It was excellent. My order was for soup and the half sandwich special with a cheeseburger as my sandwich. This was a great option for me as the regular menu cheeseburgers is 1/2 lb which is way too big for me. One of my husband's favorite sandwiches is a Reuben. The caveat being it has to be on dark rye, not marble rye. Friar Tuck made his day serving up a meaty corned beef Rueben with Swiss cheese and sauerkraut on dark rye with a side of thousand island dressing. Both sandwiches came with carrot and celery sticks with a side of ranch dip. Nice touch! We will stop here again the next time we're in town.

There were plenty of open seats still when we arrived. Our family of 5 waited for about 10 minutes before anyone came by to ask what we wanted to drink. We also said we were ready to order our meal also. We placed our order and waited for our drinks as our waitress said she will be right back with them. We waited an additional 10 minutes at least and our waitress came out with our drinks and adults drinks for another table. Why did she have to wait for the adult drinks to serve our table our 2 water and 3 sodas? Who knows. Finally, we got our French onion soup our daughter likes from there. From there, it was a game of "what's going on?". Three of the five meals came out with a side of French fries for one of the kid's meal. The side French fries were cold. We were told by our waitress one of the meal was done early and got cold so they had to remake it. Understandable. The fourth meal came out and then was told one of our kid's meal (5th meal) isn't ready because the fryers were all used up and she will have to wait for it. At this point, 2 people had already finished eating, I was just starting to eat my meal and one of our child did not get her food. She cried asking why she didn't anything watchign everyone else eat. Asked to speak to a manager and she was condescending saying, "I'm working behind the bar tonight and I'm busy. It's also rush hour". We were leaving as rush hour started around 1745. It was not busy when we were there. It was filling up as we were leaving. Customer service is poor, communication is definitely poor and you never see anyone until they bring your drinks or food. Didn't stop by to ask if there's anything they can do or asked for refills. We saw plenty of people looking around waiting for a waitress also. A couple sat at their table about 20 minutes waiting before we left and no one had served them when we left at that point. My husband's family has been coming here for 3 generations since he was a little child and they said it has all gone downhill over the years. Should have listened.
