While on a recent roadtrip, (Spring-2026), we saw a Culver's drive-thru outside of Richmond KY. The closest one to where we live is two-states away, so we said, Lets's go! This nearly-nationwide Wisconsin-originated fast-food chain has a cult-following for their Wisconsin-originated ButterBurgers© (which are actually steaky-tasting burgers on buttered buns). And for a version of Wisconsin-famous squeaky-when-you-bite-them fried cheese-curds, not quite as sharp tasting (or quite as squeaky) as you would get in Wisconsin, but fun to bite! Well, we were in a mood, and went for their bragged-about shredded-chuck pot-roast sandwiches. I am sad to report that we were underwhelmed. The flavor was rather dull, despite the herb&spice cooking marinade, and the texture was not quite fall-apart-tender the way low-and-slow should come out. The cheese curds were ok. And of course we got the yummy flavor-of-the-day frozen custard: Turtle! (vanilla, caramel, chocolate, and toasted pecan). Aaaah :-p Well, the pot roast sandwiches were not thrilling. And we noticed that the Culver's drive-thru receipt is one of those that only lists the total price, not the price of each item. Why? If we were locals, we could have gone back to talk to them about this stuff. So, overall ok, but we can't 5-star this experience. read more

I came in one day and the person taking my order sounded so stuffy. The next day, I tested positive for Covid and Flu B. My daughter is currently in the hospital- her lungs can't take this. This ruined our whole vacation. I was simply tryin to be a loving gmaw and feed my poor grand baby and she caught all this junk at her little age of two. Please, if your employees are sick, keep them home. If I had more money, I'd have the mind to sue, but unfortunately all my money is going to my granddaughter in the hospital because we don't have health insurance, because I'm 71 in retirement, taking care of my grandkids, and my retirement plan doesn't cover the health insurance. We came in, expecting an affordable, fresh meal with friendly service, and I left with hundreds of dollars down the drain, a GREASY burger, the wrong ice cream, and COVID 19 and flu. This is unacceptable. I was hearin somebody hackin up a lung back there with the food, and when our food was FINALLY brought out, not only was it wrong, but the server was wiping a snotty runny nose. And then they touched the table with their snotty hand and didn't wipe it up, and as they were walking away a nasty crumpled up, used tissue fell out of their pocket onto the floor. This is disgusting. Yall's place is digusting. Your bathroom was nasty. I don't even want to know what the kitchen looks like. Fix this or I will not return. I drove 25 miles to get dinner. should have checked my bag. but late tired and just didn't. got home to No fries and I ordered 2 baskets. they come with fries. and a single cole slaw. the slaw had on tablespoon of slaw in it. I usually don't write reviews for chain restaurants because, to be honest, if you've eaten at one, they are typically the same nationwide. But tonight when I was eating my fish sandwich, I noticed in the top of the box it said, "Take a picture. Il'll last longer." So I chuckled and thought, 'Why not?' Everyone knows Culver's for their delicious butter burgers. My favorite burger is their mushroom Swiss, but I order it with the sourdough bun which knocks it out of the park! Many overlook their delicious fish sandwich. You can also get a fish platter with 2 or 3 pieces of fish. This is a nice chunky piece of true North Atlantic Cod. Comes with tartar sauce, lettuce and cheese on a lightly buttered hoagie roll. Their fish is so good that your tongue will fly out of your mouth and slap both of your ears! Never had a bad sandwich or one with that awful fishy taste. Definitely not like those processed fish pieces that are pressed together into a square like some other places. Of course no meal is complete without their crispy French fries or a side of cheese curds ,-- which usually I get both and share the cheese curds with my wife. Well, I let her have 2 or 3! I do had to pass along accolades to the local owners who consistently hire excellent friendly staff. Thier desserts are fresh frozen custard and always a nice selection of daily flavors. This place is not your every day run-of-the-mill Culver's franchise. Always clean, always friendly, always hot food cooked to perfection. I went here to get a late night dinner with my dad on our way to our hotel for the night. It was super convenient because they are open till 10:00 p.m. The service friendly and and out cashier was super nice and helpful. The inside of the restaurant is nice and clean. The food did, however, take 20 minutes to come out which I personally think is kind of long for fast food especially when we were getting take out and not sitting down to eat. In case you were wondering: the wait time was the reason I left it with four stars instead of five. When it did come out, it tasted great! I go to Culver's restaurants somewhat frequently and I have always had a good experience! Love the franchise and love the food! Recommendation: I would recommend getting a "value basket" which includes any butterburger, sandwich, or tenders+medium classic side+medium soft drink. I provide concise reviews and details. This is my second time here, it has been about a year since my last visit (last visit was not great). First off a three piece cod dinner is now $16.19 and a complete waste of money. Never get a cod basket or dinner here. See picture, cod portions are at least 1/3 than what they used to be. Mashed potatoes and gravy used to come in decent sized containers, now they dab potatoes on same dish as the cod. If you like lemon on your fish good luck, just one sliver provided. Used to get 2 dinner rolls, now one. Cod is akin to a fish stick now, you can eat with fingers now, dip in the tarter sauce if you want. I am sure the franchise owner will say this is a Culver's issue but it isn't. Franchise owner can raise issue with Culver's and not raise prices. Finally they offer a 10% veterans discount but not really ( see picture). Our total was $37.86 and the discount provided was $2.45... A 10% discount should be $3.79. Save a chicken, eat a burger. And thank your Wisconsin farmer. When I crave yummy bad food I crave Culvers. Greasy, fatty, buttery butter burgers. Just what you need after last night's craziness. Just what the doctor totally didn't order. But didn't he say frozen custard is okay? Hmm.. I thought I heard him say that. Magically, this Culvers has my favorite custard flavors of the day every time I pass through town: anything peanut butter, mint, or chocolate. Score! And that's good news for me since it's the closest Culvers I can possibly find. Perfect stop on my road trips. I asked for no mayo, had mayo on it. My receipt was correct, my sandwich was not. The burger didn't taste bad, it literally had no taste! Was like biting into chewy air. The bun was soggy and fell apart after the third bite. Very greasy. My onion rings were burned and hard to eat. Had to eat my son's fries, which were very good. My milkshake was very good. Rich, thick, and delicious. I have been to Culver's many times, and this location fell flat with flavor, for me. Would give a 2nd chance if came through this location again. read more

I was driving from Ohio back to Chattanooga and was hangry. I didn't want to stop and sit in a restaurant but I didn't want the usual and usually gross fast food options. I pulled off the interstate to get some gas and saw Culver's. I'd never heard of it before, so I thought I'd give it a try. Pulled up to the drive thru and noticed they sell frozen custard. I've only had frozen custard once or twice before and I've enjoyed it and it was super hot out so I ordered one of those. The flavor of the day was something with vanilla and chocolate syrup and peanuts. It was pretty tasty. I also ordered a kid's meal of a corndog and fries and a drink. Now Culver's is a Pepsi place and I just don't ever drink it. They did however have diet root beer, which I love, so I got that. The corn dog was nice and crispy, I also asked for the fries to be extra crispy and the root beer was very thirst quenching. Perfect road food. I make that drive at least a couple of times a year, and I'm going to make sure I stop back at Culver's. read more

I have enjoyed Culver's in the past but the last two times I have been, the most recent being last week, my order has been wrong and the last time i spent $61 and did not receive two of my sides or Tatar sauce with either of my cod dinners. Walked into Culver's here last nite and it was so cold inside and uncomfortable. We preferred the drive thru but it was closed. We ordered then got a table. The table looked filthy with stains and evidence of not being cleaned in who knows how long so I got some napkins and water from the soda fountain and wiped it down 2 x. No big deal. Our order came and it was ok. Our cheeseburgers came cold. The cheese was placed on the cold Pattie's un melted. No big deal again. The fries were ok and were a lot. Enough for 3 of us. So that was good. The milkshakes were good too. Next time I'll try a chicken sandwich because it looked good on the menu. We were hungry and it did the trick. Tasty and good so I'll be back I suppose. Actually it's a lot like Freddy's and a lot like Freddy's in that it was dirty and trashy everywhere like Freddy's ......but then it was around 8/30-9pm when we ate there so maybe it was cleaner earlier in the day . The food and service were very good, but the scales were tipped to five stars because of the very clean bathrooms. I think the state of is an indication of of the state of the kitchen, so yay to this Culver's for understanding the importance of clean bathrooms. I've always enjoyed Culver's, it's one of my favorite fast/casual restaurants. This location is always consistent with the service and quality of the food. Counter staff are always friendly and unlike a lot of other restaurants they adequately staff the counter based on how much business they are getting, so the wait is almost non-existent. As for the food, I've had the butter burgers before and they are wonderful but, what I normally get is the sourdough melt, double Patty. It's so so soooo good. It's always hot and juicy with just the right amount of crispiness on the bread. IMO the fresh cheddar cheese is what makes it! Only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is simply because it's so heavy on the grease factor. Other than that, I'll keep coming back!! read more

I normally dont give 5 star reviews as I feel you really have to earn them and especially when it comes to fast food but my first visit to Culvers was just that. Anytime you go to any fast food restaurant and you look at the menu the burgers look so delicious, full and plump packed to the brim with toppings and then it comes out and it looks like someone drove over it with a steamroller and theres hardly any meat to it. Pure disappointment from the consumers viewpoint. When a friend suggested I give Culvers a try they promised I wouldnt be upset by my choice and I wasnt. This burger was stacked and not just with filler, even the bacon looked like something I would make at home and not the sticks heated up in microwaves at other places. First and foremost though I'm not a burger person, more of a chicken sandwich but this burger quality was better than most sit down restaurants. The price was more than acceptable considering the quality of food I had purchased. I also want to note it was pouring the rain outside when I went in and an employee walked out to a vehicle to give them their food and wasnt running throwing their bag everywhere so that says something about the type of people working there as well. read more

Culvers in Richmond Kentucky is one of the only fast food restaurants I will eat at. The meat is fresh and the food is always served hot. The restaurant is clean and the employees are the best. Culver's seems to be loosing focus. Once a place fore great burgers, now they almost seem to turning into a diner. Chicken, fish, pot roast, etc... The chicken is the thin, dry breast strips made from slicing a breast into thin strips. The fish is okay. A bit greasy. A bit tasteless. Nothing I wanted to try twice. After trying the chicken and the fish I decided against trying the pot roast. I also don't care for the ice cream. It is a bit heavy for me. The one thing they do well is burgers.
