The bar is pushed back in a line of businesses which offers a more parking spaces out front. There is indoor and outdoor seating. There are lots of TVs and even a projection TV for your fav games. The place offers high tops, regular seating and bar seating inside. When we entered late afternoon, it was busy. Mostly older folks enjoying the food and drinks- watching the game. We found two spots at the bar and the bartender was quick to get to us. We each ordered name brand vodka drinks. They were tasty and 2 for 1. Wow! Even better. As we sat, the place got busier and the bartender, Danielle, handled her duties with ease. Drinks didn't sit empty on her watch. She was attentive and friendly. Offering a smile and a suggestion if asked. After a couple drinks we ordered some food. I ordered the chicken rice bowl, and my husband got medium wings with breading. The chicken wings were big and tender, the medium sauce was perfect heat, and very tasty. Awesome!! my husband said. And 80 cents each- wow! Again. My blackened chicken bowl was very good. Moist chicken bites with great flavor. It was hot ( temperature not flavor). Every bite like you just took it off the stove at home. One suggestion would be to add a bit more peppers and onions to the dish. They were lost in the rice and beans. Overall- delicious. I couldn't eat it all but wanted to. I was teasing my husband that since we are new to town, we need to check out lots of others places and he smiled that smile. Looks like we found his favorite bar. Chubbyz is going to be hard to beat. We will be back again and again- I'm sure. Great prices- delicious food, and Danielle serves up some awesome drinks!

Sometimes places like this surprise you so we both thought let's give it a shot.. I got waffles, my husband got pancakes. Cantaloupe was good. Pancakes were dry. Sausage was undercooked and very salty. it was also rather pricey for what we got. But hey, I hear they have great burgers. Maybe they'd be a good carryout for lunch. She found Leroy's Southern Kitchen & Bar in Punta Gorda, and let me tell you this place isn't a restaurant it's a whole Saturday night experience! I walked in thinking there had to be a festival, birthday party, or somebody famous in town. Nope! That's just how they roll every Saturday. Live music, people dancing, everyone smiling I started wondering if they slipped happiness into the sweet tea. Now the wife ordered the Nevermind Pressed Burger with extra cheese and black coffee steak sauce. NEVERMIND?? More like Never mind my diet! One bite then another then another and suddenly her plate looked like the dishwasher had already been there. The burger was cooked perfectly, juicy, cheesy, and that steak sauce should be illegal in at least 12 states. Meanwhile, I ordered the 10 oz. Skirt Steak with jasmine rice, carrots, green onions, and their house made Asian marinade. Listen whoever made that sauce I need the recipe, your autograph, and your retirement plan. I was this close to asking for a to go cup so I could pour it on my cereal tomorrow morning. Mama mia that steak disappeared faster than my paycheck after my wife says, Let's just stop at one more store. Then dessert happened. We saw our neighbors order the homemade Banana Nilla Pudding special. My wife looked at me with that look that says, We're getting one. Fellas you already know that's not a suggestion. Well she got one. I got exactly three bites. THREE! ‍ By the time I looked back, the jar was cleaner than the windows at a car wash. Dear Lord now I understand why my doctor keeps telling me to watch my sugar. That pudding almost had me scheduling my next A1C appointment from the table. The live band had me singing songs from back in the day don't ask which ones. Some of y'all are detectives and I'm not giving away my age! And a huge shout-out to Athena! She knew that menu like she wrote it herself. Friendly, funny, attentive she made us feel like regulars even though it was our first visit. So thank you, Uncle Leroy! Between the food, the music, the atmosphere, and my wife stealing 97% of the dessert, this was the perfect way to end an unforgettable Father's Day getaway. Five stars. Come hungry leave happy and if you order the Banana Nilla Pudding, order TWO. One for your wife and one that you hide under the table. Trust me.

We had reservations at 7 and arrived at 6:50 and were promptly sat immediately. We were sat in the back of the restaurant and immediately were overwhelmed by this horrible gas/sulfur smell. We immediately asked to be moved and were moved to a different table at the front by the door and the smell was gone. We were greeted by our waitress, I believe her name was Nicole, the moment we sat down and she took our drink orders. Our drinks came out pretty much immediately, and she took our food orders. Me and my step father got the 2 for $50 and both got wagyu flat iron steaks, both medium rare, his with fries and mine with au gratin potatoes. My mother got a burger with a baked sweet potato. About 5 minutes later she comes out with the popovers and house salad. The popovers were BURNT and black on the bottom. They tasted like char and none of us finished more than a few bites. We tried to ignore it as we were mostly excited for our steaks. About 5 minutes later, roughly 10 minutes after we were sat, a couple arrives at the table behind us. We end up waiting until 7:50 with NO sign of our waitress, no drink refills, never comes to check on us, no clue where our food is. About 15 minutes after that couple behind us was sat, they end up getting their food. Still nothing for us. She finally comes by and says, "I just checked on your food guys and it'll be out soon!" We were visibly and audibly frustrated at this point and she immediately snapped an attitude with us and was extremely rude. We continue waiting and our food ends up coming out at 7:56. I cut into my steak and it's RAW. Not rare, RAW. My step father's steak was ice cold and overcooked. His fries were also ice cold. Another thing, me and my step father ordered the same cut of steak. The Wagyu Flat Iron. My steak was skinny and tall, my step father's steak was flat and wide. they looked NOTHING alike. My mother cuts into her burger and it was overcooked and ice cold. She tries to eat her potato instead and the inside of the potato was stringy and had clumps in it. It looked like vomit and was extremely unappetizing. We call over the waitress and ask for the manager who ends up coming over about 5 minutes later, I believe his name was Mike. My step father explains our issues to him and he is dismissive, argumentative, and rude. I brought up the fact that a table behind us sat 10 minutes after us got their food and finished it already and he says that doesn't matter and overall was non-empathetic and rude. We ask him to take our food off the bill and that we just want to leave. It takes 10 minutes for the bill to be brought to us and it was by our waitress, not the manager. She says that the burger was left on and all our drinks. No sort of extra compensation or even a simple APOLOGY for our horrible evening. We express our frustration and the waitress once again begins being sarcastic, argumentative and rude. Me and my stepfather get up to leave the restaurant while my mom mother pays the bill. As me and my step-father are leaving, not paying any mind to her or anyone else, the waitress is behind us at the hostess stand and ANTAGONIZES us for NO reason saying; "I mean this is ridiculous guys, this is getting out of hand." My step father turns around and says "I agree, it is ridiculous. We had horrible service, our food was horrible, and we had to wait an hour to even be served." She starts trying to argue with him and we just turned and walked out. While my mom was inside paying, the waitress tried to walk away with her card so my mom followed her and asked her to leave her card if she was going to go to the back. The waitress does a sarcastic laugh of disbelief and says "What, you don't trust me with your card?" and gives the card back and walks away laughing. This was the most unbelievable, rude, horrible restaurant service I've ever had. I mean it seriously felt like I was eating at that vital "Dick's" restaurant where the staff is supposed to be ironically rude. I attached a picture of my raw steak that the manager apparently "didn't see an issue with." Feel free to eat here if you want to smell sulfur, be abandoned for 45+ minutes, interact with rude wait staff, and be served raw food!
