Prices are terrible for what you get. $33.00 for 2 med sandwiches, two drinks and a couple of small bags of chips. At the high end this should be 26.00. Charged 4.29 each for fountain drinks that cost them 50 cents. Alternatives, Culvers 2 pork sandwiches, fries/onion rings and drinks $23.00. Beef O Brady's 2 burgers, fries and drinks $24.00. Ordered this for delivery lastnight. First time trying this location but gave it a go since we are having a sleepover this weekend and this was something we could all agree on. Food arrived on time and that is about the only plus for this review. Out of the 7 subs ordered, I would say the meatball subs would take top place for actual meat between some bread. The other subs, however, were pretty bare. More bread than meat is hardly worth the amount charged. Flavor was subpar. Only a sliver of a pickle on the side - try 1/4 of a spear - no chips and no drink included, which I understood when ordering, but still does not justify the price. Firehouse is so unbelievably good! You can expect to spend $8-$12 for a meal but you do get very good portions. You also get a huge variety of sauces from the little self serve sauce station. We've been back since our first time and each time it gets worse and worse. Last time, I was able to eat half the sandwich, but we had extra rolls to use for the other half. This time the bottom bun is soaking wet and falling apart already. The top bun is soggy, it's disgusting. I took the meat and fixing off and was going to eat that, but gave it to my husband. He'll eat anything. It's Saturday, he was nice enough to drive over during his football game and get it, I wasn't asking him to drive back. I picked up the last order. I was surprised people walk in, they see me standing there, because there is nothing for me to pick up. I wait for someone to acknowledge me. Someone walked up right where I was standing, grabbed something, turned around to walk away, and I said Hello!! Hi! Someone then asked who I was, and I was told me there was an order of 40 subs ahead of me. I don't mind waiting. I'm happy to see a business thriving. I saw how the liquid gets on the bun to soak it though. It's when they are putting meat in the microwave, dump some of the liquid out and the rest goes on the sandwich. This location is "O K" but if we REALLY have a craving for Firehouse subs, we drive to the Venice or Sarasota Bee Ridge locations. The other 2 locations seem to have softer bread and more meat on the subs. So I came into this establishment for my first time. There were five employees and no one and I mean no one acknowledged me or my bf. They were busy doing take out orders for ppl that weren't even here. Now in a normal circumstance you at least great the customer and say I'll be right with you. Not here just straight out ignored till they were done. Finally when they took our order no apology just a dry response of what can I get you. This upsets me because there are so many ppl out there who need a job who are actually friendly. The food here is great but the customer service is completely nonchalant, non existent and plain out rude. The manager needs to retrain there rude staff or maybe he or she doesn't care. It took over 15 minutes to make 2 sandwiches which is extremely long imo and my bag was leaking and had to get another one which again rude like it was my fault. Staff was friendly when we were there. Got our food home, a steak an cheese, Italian, and a hero. It was soggy, the meat on the steak tasted weird an rubbery and the Italian was made incorrectly. They have a sigh stating if you don't love it in one bite money back. We called. Got an attitude from the manager who became belligerent and informed us that policy isn't entirely true and only the owner can give a refund. 32$ of food later we were left hungry, disappointed an very upset with how we were treated by management. We were a team competing in a spring break tournament in Punta Gorda, Florida last week with a schedule that was difficult to manage for post-game team meals. The Firehouse Subs in Port Charlotte came to our rescue! Most food service places in the area close at 9pm, delivery even earlier. Kim worked with us to ensure our orders arrived no more than 20 minutes before the end of our game - that was 9:45pm that evening. No one else was willing to deliver to the park that late, but Russ did. I cannot wax lyrical enough about how accommodating the Port Charlotte Firehouse Subs restaurant staff was for us. Kim & Russ - please tell the staff that we really appreciated their hard work because the Sub platters were perfect from the quantities (you nailed the total subs perfectly!), the packaging and to the taste. I think some of these positive reviews are fake. I went to this store after going to another one in Sarasota. The Store in Sarasota was great. The employees were enthusiastic, good food, clean store etc. I went to this Port Charlotte location and the employees were like dead bodies, my club sandwich was not tasty.
