Fish taco with a pathetically small thin piece of fried fish
Laura G.

I will be eating at del taco again, because I want to try more items than what we ate today. This was our first time trying Del Taco which is new to our area. So I'm directly comparing them to Taco Bell where we have gone for years. So we Just ate a fish tacos & del tacos from del taco. Fish was $3.19 and the pathetic flat fish stick was maybe 1/4" thick almost all breading, didn't reach the full length of the taco shell, couldn't even taste fish. Waste of money; very disappointed. [I want to further interject that for $7.09, Culver's has an amazing thick fresh hot fried cod fillet that by weight is probably 6 times the amount of fish in one of these tacos. So if you want a fast food fish item definitely try Culver's.] We got them on soft shell and it turned out to be soft "corn" shell! We didn't expect that. We thought it would be flour tortilla. They should let you know. The cabbage slaw shredded inside my husband's taco had a super hard slab of cabbage core he had to take out of it to eat it. The regular del taco taco doesn't come with sour cream - that costs extra but we didn't add it. Lettuce tomato cheese and meat. I had crunchy corn shell my husband had soft. His soft taco was flour tortilla. We both agree about it being much more generous than the meat portion that we get on a Taco Bell taco. I appreciate that they shred their own cheese (so it doesn't have powdered cellulose added to keep it separated). The flavor was good but doesn't seem like any special proprietary flavor like Taco Bell has. It was good though and the extra meat that comes in it compared to Taco Bell was worth 2.19 compared to Taco Bell 2.79(= price of regular Taco Bell Taco if you add tomato to make it the same ingredients as del taco). So over all, I wouldn't recommend the fish taco. It shouldn't even be an option if they can't make it with good fish. I would recommend trying the regular tacos. I'll try a burrito next time but they don't have anything equivalent to a Taco Bell burrito supreme that I can see on the menu so I suspect it will get costly to add the individual ingredients that we are used to eating on a supreme at Taco Bell. I was really hoping to like this Del Taco better than Taco Bell because we were getting frustrated with Taco Bell recently, making us pull into a parking space to wait for an order when there were no other people in the drive through! By contrast, Del Taco had a line wrapped around the building so I think other people are - either trying it for the first time or else really liking the del taco flavor and service. I'll update next time we have del taco!

Vanilla and chocolate shakes
Kyran D.

Even more delicious shakes from del taco, the chocolate was the best chocolate shake I've ever had, and mind you I didn't like chocolate shakes before this. The vanilla was decent, not bad but barely any flavor, I'll always be back for that strawberry shake though.

Nasty piece of metal In my taco...you can see the cheese

On Tues I ordered 3 hard shell Del Tacos from the drive through. When I got home and began to eat one I bit into something very hard and sharp that cut my tongue and cheek. I spit out the food and found what appeared to be a half inch piece of broken box cutter. Calling corporate they responded with a call from the district manager who only offered a free meal. UNSATISFACTORY!!! I nearly swallowed that thing!

They have amazing nice staff, it was a great price for my family of 3 and it was very fresh and better than some other taco place....

The tacos were very tiny and not very good. Their taco salad was the worst. Will never order from them again.

If you go anywhere near this place during peak hours, expect customers to stop dead in the middle of the roadway while waiting for the drive-thru. No pulling aside. No common sense. Just cars sitting in active lanes blocking entrances, exits, and connecting roads. If you're not even there for Chick-fil-A, congratulations -- you're trapped. I've watched drivers stuck with no way to exit, traffic backing up in every direction, and people forced into risky moves just to escape the gridlock. Horns start going off because there's literally nowhere to go. The most frustrating part? Management. When things get bad enough that drivers are laying on their horns, managers sometimes come out -- and instead of clearing the road, they side with the Chick-fil-A customers blocking traffic. That leaves everyone else stranded and just adds fuel to the fire. This isn't a one-off problem. It happens over and over again, and the business clearly knows it. They just don't care. There's no real traffic control, no mitigation, and no concern for anyone who isn't in their drive-thru line. Good food doesn't excuse reckless operations. This location is inconsiderate, poorly managed, and a menace to the surrounding area.

Wendy's - At least the patty was the right shape

Wendy's: Come for the food, stay because no one notices you exist."…read more This Wendy's felt less like a restaurant and more like a full-blown survival challenge. I stood at the counter for six or seven very long minutes before anyone acknowledged me, which gave me plenty of time to admire the one-inch-deep lagoon of swampy soap water sloshing across the kitchen floor. I was genuinely waiting for frogs to move in. OSHA would've needed emotional support after seeing it. When someone finally wandered over so I could place my order, I was granted another five-minute intermission while he disappeared to handle drive-thru--because the two employees on duty looked like they were locked in a fierce competition for "Most Miserable Worker Alive." The food? Surprisingly decent. Fries were fine, Frosty carried the whole franchise, and my burger was so pink inside I thought it would stand up, shake my hand, and introduce itself. Cute square shape, not-so-cute mooing. Then came the grand finale. One of the two workers abandoned his station to drag out the loudest, most prehistoric vacuum cleaner on planet Earth. Nothing says "bon appétit" like the sound of a dying vacuum screaming for mercy. And just when I thought the chaos was over, the guy who was working decided it was the perfect moment for a five-minute vape break--right outside the window, directly in front of us. We were literally the only customers in the store, but sure, go ahead and blow blueberry-cloud existential despair in our line of sight. Inspirational. Verdict: Decent food served in an atmosphere that feels like a haunted house staffed by people who lost a bet. Bring patience, boots, ear protection, and apparently a fog machine to blend in. You'll need all of them.

When we asked for a few minutes to decide on our order, the staff member rushed us unnecessarily, despite the fact that there were no customers waiting behind us. The food we received was unacceptable--the fries tasted as if they had absorbed smoke from the kitchen and had an extremely unpleasant flavor. They were overcooked and had the texture of cardboard, clearly sitting in a heater for far too long. There needs to be strict quality control in place, and the staff should know when to discard items that are no longer fit for serving.

As a local this spot has always served yummy bites but the service this lady (she might even be the owner?) delivered was just wild. They had condiments on the counter that looked very unsanitary, the nozzles were sticky and looked to not have been cleaned in weeks --if ever! -- and we had watched her replace a ketchup bag in a dispenser just behind the counter so we asked for some ketchup and she rudely replied, "there's ketchup right there." Not wanting to be rude, my partner said, "this just looked a little weird and I was wondering if we could use some from there instead?" she then proceeded to aggressively grab the dispenser and SLAM it onto the countertop saying, "SURE, you can use this one since our ketchup 'looks too weird' for you!!" I am shocked. Treat people with kindness, it really isn't that hard. She was also very short to a gentlemen and his son in front of us, snapping to him that she already put napkins on his tray so he didn't need anymore when he had asked because he hadn't seen the napkins there. Very disappointing and we won't be returning. Check yourself and your team, customer experience is what will keep your business thriving-- when you lose that piece, you just might lose it all. If zero stars were an option, it would be here.

We went to the food court and noticed that the places which were there pre-IAN are back and working, plus there is one other eatery that was not there before. We decided to eat the Athens Grecian Delight. The staff seemed nice and friendly. We both ordered the Large Greek Salad and were not disappointed! The salad was fresh and plentiful. In fact, there was more salad in this dish than in the sit-down places we have gone to in Port Charlotte. The Gyro meat was tasty and easy to chew. It was not dry. The dressing looked to be a simple red wine vinaigrette. Which, TBH should have at least been a Greek dressing, but it still was tasty. I decided to order a slice of baklava as well. After tasting mine, my wife went and got her own slice. The baklava was outstanding. It was more flavorful than the sit-down Greek place we went to last week. If you are looking for Good Greek food at a reasonable price (Very Reasonable) I would suggest you check this place out. They are very consistent with their food quality. The atmosphere is not all that great, but what do you expect from a food court in a mall? I will gladly sacrifice ambiance for the price I paid, which was about HALF the price of the sit-down places I've gone to. You need to check them out!
