Went here with a couple friends for an early dinner. Restaurant opens at 5, so we were there just after 5 because we did not have reservations. The food and service were both very good. Everything was timely. We had the table-side guacamole, but they didn't prepare it table-side. It was still very good. Entrees were very good. Two orders of Fish Tacos, an order of Carne Tacos and one very large Burrito. No one went home hungry. Worth a try. read more

Had a 6:45 reservation on a Thursday and they seated us immediately. It's a very nice and modern space with a cool bar and outdoor seating. It is quite loud but that doesn't bother me a bit if the food is good. Chips and salsa were outstanding. I couldn't get enough of those chips because they were nice and salty and I loved that. The salsa was so much better than I have gotten in years in a Mexican restaurant. Our server Anthony from Jamaica was incredible. Enjoyed his interpretation and personal favorites on the menu. I would definitely ask to sit in his area. Extremely personable but not over the top. We had the snapper tacos to start. They were tasty and I especially liked the pickled onions. They are definitely an appetizer and not an entree. I had the Yucatan shrimp with crispy onions and cilantro lime rice and my partner had the beef barbacoa burrito with rice and black beans. I clearly had the winning dish. The shrimp was a generous portion and worth the 32 dollars. Shrimp were huge and cooked perfectly with a delicious mojo sauce and crispy onions along with the tasty rice that had great textures and the sauce made that dish sing. Outstanding! My husband's burrito was fine but the tortilla had somewhat of a bready texture, not at all like a tortilla and there was a spice in it that I did not care for. Couldn't identify it and I have been to Mexico over 20 times. My husband liked it fine. He enjoyed his beer but I felt like that wine pour was definitely chintzy for 13 bucks. It was a delightful evening and an asset to the area. But once again, my dish was the clear winner!!! I honestly had very low expectations for a "Modern Coastal Mexican" restaurant in Port Charlotte. Full disclosure, I have eaten phenomenal food in Mexico and it's not easy to find authentic cuisine in the States outside of large metropolitan areas. That is not the case with Blue Lime. It is VERY authentic. Mole is one of the most difficult dishes to make. It takes skill, care and great patience. There's was bursting with that deep rich taste that is only achieved at the hands of a skilled chef or an abuelita. Drinks were great, service was 5 star(special mention to David), guacamole was superb and Tres Leche dessert was equally authentic, not fussy and not fancy. To the person who gave a one-star review, but never tasted the food and only stepped foot in the restaurant to discover a 1 and 1/2 hour wait and then leave it's not only very unfair to the restaurant, but it is also disrespectful and rude. Wasn't overly impressed. Better than some Mexican restaurants out on Tamiami Trail. I thought the prices were a little high for what you get. Margaritas were average at best. Chips and salsa were below my standard. I had high hopes but ultimately they fell short. I would probably return someday. read more

Sunseeker is an amazing and massive resort and a vibrant addition to the area. However, Blue Lime massively misses the mark on many fronts. First, let's talk location. Waterfront locale is great - except if you have any accessibility needs. For our sole dining experience, a member of our party is handicapped and the parking lot nearest the restaurant was inexplicably closed (and fully empty). Not only did we have to park in the hotel parking garage (and pay $12 for the priveledge!), the walk from the parking garage to the restaurant is a 10-15 min walk for an able bodied person. One sign in the entire journey from garage to restaurant marked the way. However, the most inexcusible aspect - one of the 4 elevators required to take for a person in a wheel chair was out of service, requiring an additional 5 minute sojourn. Utterly inexucsible and likely non-ADA compliant. Kudos to the staff member that hiked the property to retrieve an ordered wheel chair that never arrived and was such a trooper in wheeling our party member through the meandering maze. She was truly the (only) high point of the night and her kindness is noted. Now the service. One word - awful. For a 'premium restaurant' with more than premium pricing, this too is inexplicable. Now say may note that staff is hard to come by and this is true. But it was clear that there were more runners than wait staff (about 5 to 1). This is a management issue. As for the food, once we overlookd the hour and ten minutes it took to get the dinners, let's just say that we discarded our left overs after feeling ill from the parts we did eat. Because we did. The carne asade was smothered in way too much cumin based seasong to the point of inedibility and the rice was a dry sawdust tasting concoction. The chile rellenos tasted like someone took a belgion waffle from a carnival and decided that would somehow be a good substitute for a normal rellenos dish. Topped with cold crab meat and priced over $30 didnt help the cause. The snapper was the only dish approaching the lofty price charged. Lastly, and more challenging, was the manager's 'committment' to follow up after providing him a recap of our distressed dining endeavor. He seemed sincerely interested and willing to listen to the concerns and when taking down a name and committing to a follow up it seemed that maybe we just had a trifect of terrible on an off night. Now more than two weeks following our one and only stop with nary a followup from said manager, I can only surmise the tone at the top informs much of the problems noted above. Of course any new venue will have bumps at the outset. But for the most expensive mexican food i have ever eaten stateside coupled with all else noted above, this restaurant cannot be recommended at this time. read more

We are so excited that we have Sunseekers right in our backyard!!! we gave them time to try them out a few months after opening. The food was amazing, the presentation was eye candy. The drink selection was great. Full bar and exciting to see what everybody was ordering. We did not partake in the table side guacamole, but we will definitely do it the next visit. The location is stellar, and the vibe is exactly what you would expect. But here we go, they lock in service from the front reception desk to the food service. The bartender seem to be overwhelmed and understaffed. They're not being lazy. They're literally running around trying to serve everybody. I am a firm believer that give it another couple of months and I got to have the service down. We plan to return in May. read more

The ambiance was so peaceful and pretty! I loved the solo guitarist, it played through the speakers in the restaurant and it was beautiful! Speakers slightly louder than needed in that atmosphere. Iziah was wonderful!!! He is so kind and attentive. He helped us go over the menu and answered any question we had. Joey is also wonderful! So knowledgeable on tequila, he could tell you when where and what barrels every tequila is made with it's actually insane to know that much but he's lovely. The food wasn't bad ! Def authentic Mexican so be prepared. Loved the apps , im limited on what I can eat (only fish) and the Yucatán shrimp was 6/10 for me personally. read more

The restaurant was very very cold! Bring a jacket. For an appetizer we got the queso fundido. It had absolutely no flavor even with the toppings, the cheese reminded me of string cheese. It's as if they melted a bunch of string cheese together.. I would not call that queso. Would not recommend! For entrees we got the chicken burrito, and carne asada with a side of street corn. The street corn was so good and had a lot of flavor. The carne asada was also very good and tender. The chicken burrito was not good at all, the tortilla was thick and overall the burrito lacked flavor. I barely ate any of it. Our server Anthony was very nice and attentive. read more

Food was delicious, the street corn was a crowd favorite!! We had reservations around sunset and it was beautiful, however it was extremely bright and a few of us were squinting..... We ordered table side guacamole and it lacked flavor. Everyone agreed it needed more salt and more lime. Other than that, the harborita was divine as was the service. read more

My wife and I had in mind for a while to check out Sunseekers but didn't know what restaurant to pick. Glad our first place was Blue Lime. Food was amazing especially mine (Carne Asada) great ambience, views and let's not forget the service. Our waiter took great care of us. I truly recommend this place. The vibe here was immaculate, and the food was so good. Haven't had this good of Mexican food in a long long time. Definitely recommend the Carne Asada, juicy and great flavor. Food is fabulous as well as the service. The table side Guacamole preparation was great. The large party room was hot and the sun was blinding. When you build a resort like they did why wouldn't they have sun screens or heavy tint. You will melt in that room when the sun is out. The rest of the restaurant is 15-20 degrees cooler. First of all, the food we ordered was delicious for the most part. The table side guacamole wasn't prepared at the table but was absolutely delicious. The person preparing it came over to the table to ask if there were any ingredients we didn't want, then prepared it accordingly and returned with the dish as specified. The chips and salsa were very good. The only item we didn't love was the queso fundido. Don't bother to get this. It's pretty runny, overcooked, and fairly tasteless. My husband and daughter's boyfriend got the beef burrito and both absolutely loved it. I ordered the carne asada tacos and they were delicious. My daughter got the Yucatan Shrimp and loved it was well. The portions were big so you won't leave hungry. They should be for the prices they charge. That said, everything is fresh and I don't mind paying for good food. The ambiance is very nice as well with beautiful views. The only thing not quite up to par is the service. Just average in my opinion but could have just been our waitress. I would encourage you to try it out. read more

As other reviews have mentioned, it is loud but the food and service were amazing! Obviously everything might be a little higher priced but you should know this going in that it's at a high end resort. Prices shouldn't be shocking and it was well worth it. Highly recommend! read more
