Me and my wife's family visited this location on 9/16/2020 and it must have been a bad day for one of their employees. He told my wife and her mom to move out of the way because he needed room. It was completely unacceptable. Afterwards another customer came up and said he was missing items from his order and was told it's too bad because he couldn't find the items. Another employee was yelling to focus on the customers. It was ridiculous. Had I known how he spoke to my wife and her mother things would have gone a completely Different way. We will never return to this location unless I can speak to the owner. The employee I spoke to when I called and admitted doing it and said he was a manager but wouldn't give me his information. Normally they're good, but not this visit. I'm giving a one star only for the fried walleye. They changed there supplier to an overly breaded filet that was so greasy I could lube my car! The more breading your oil needs to be hot, very hot for a crispy breading. This was like a sponge of oil it was so bad I should have said something while I was there, only finished 1 and a 1/2 pieces and threw the rest away. Culver's custard is sold in large quantities by the pint or quart. This is measured by volume. Attached is a "pint" serving. Three of the four "pints" were less than the size advertised. If I should be foolish enough to visit this one again I will have to go inside and watch them fill the container and verify. read more

The customer service is absolutely terrible. I have worked in the fast food industry for years so I understand certain situations. The African American girl with curly blonde hair working drive thru was by far the rudest person I've ever encountered. Within 5 seconds of pulling up to the menu we asked for a minute to look at the menu to decide what to order. After asking for a minute she said "No, you need to hurry up because we have a line." After quickly ordering our food she said "what the hell do you want." I'm not a person to leave a bad review at a fast food place but this one took the cake. And Culver's hands down has the best Oreo concrete mixer out of every place I have ever tried. I love their ice cream and would recommend it to anybody that wants rich and creamy ice cream with their favorite candy mixed in. I will know. Spent almost $62 on dinner for 5 people only to get home and a combo is missing. Double checked the ticket and I definitely paid for it, but it's definitely not in the bag. I called up to the store and spoke with a gentleman who proceeded to argue with me, saying that he bagged the food himself and he definitely put two orders of chicken tenders in the bag. I told him that my family has the food all spread out on the table and they are nowhere to be found, and actually we're missing a vanilla malt as well, though that one is on me since I was given the drinks and custard in advance of parking for the rest of the food (there were 5 drinks total plus 2 custards, so quite a bit, but again I can accept the blame for not catching the missing malt earlier despite having paid for it). The employee I spoke with kept arguing with me about how he KNOWS he put the food in the bag, before finally taking down my name and telling me to just give my name next time I come through. Sorry, not happening. I will never be coming through this Culver's again. If he was this offended about me calling to point out a mistake, to the point that he's going to basically accuse me of lying about it, I'm not willing to take my chances on the quality of food I'm going to get if I drive all the way back there to get the rest of my order. My family ended up eating without me tonight while I drove down to the Culver's on 156th and Q to replace my food. I will say.. a much smoother and better experience at that Culver's. read more

Few weeks ago, drive thru: Ordered a chicken sandwich, left with a burger. Today, drive thru: Ordered cheese curds instead of fries, left with fries... Which is so much more disappointing than the burger scenario because who wants fries when you can have cheese curds? I'm from Wisconsin originally, c'mon guys. :( The woman at the window over the lunch hour does a great job. Sometimes the older man they have on the intercom over the lunch hour is having a bad day and he definitely shows that. Just wish they could get the drive thru bit together. On both occasions, the drive thru was NOT busy... Seems like they almost do better when the drive thru is bumper to bumper. Employee thought it was acceptable to comment on our PERIODS! I visited your restaurant tonight around 7:30. Most of your employees were fine, but one in particular ruined the entire experience by being incredibly rude, inappropriate, and misogynistic to my friend and myself. And unfortunately, he rang us out both times we made purchases. I'm going to try to transcribe encounter #1 as accurately as I possibly can, considering this happened only about an hour ago. Me: I'll take a concrete with oreos, please. Him: Oreos? Me, I really like reese's. Me: Haha, I'm weird and don't really like chocolate and peanut butter. Him, without missing a beat: See, I always wonder while I'm at my other job at HyVee what women do when they're on Their Days (their period) if they can't eat chocolate. What do they eat? Me, not laughing: That's a weird thing to wonder about a stranger. I tried to make it clear from my demeanor and tone that his comments weren't appreciated and actually very much offended us, but he just kept laughing as if we were all in on some joke together. We were not. We were offended and made incrediby uncomfortable by this. Then later, on our way out, we were buying some pints of custard to go and at the register, he was there again. Once again, I'm going to do my best to transcribe the interaction as faithfully and accurately as I can. Me, to my friend: I'll pay for them, you'll get me back, right? My friend: Yeah, definitely! Him: Oh, I've heard that before, but people rarely make good on it. He then started laughing. We did not. He basically accused my friend of being a cheapskate and saying she wasn't good for the money I fronted her. He doesn't know us, so I don't know why he thought be could make a comment like that about my friend. But when we didn't laugh at his joke, he pressed on, even though we were CLEARLY not amused. Him: What, no sense of humor? Me: We, I think we're hilarious, so. He then started mumbling something about his girlfriend. I didn't hear exactly what it was. He finished out the whole thing by struggling with two paper bags for at least a minute and commenting on each of the 4 flavors we were purchasing, holding us up at the registers even more and dragging out what was already a very unpleasant customer service experience. Hello I stopped in the other day before hitting the road back to Chicago and I honestly don't understand stand how this establishment is even open. I ordered a double butter burger with bacon and no onions (I hate onions) I patiently waited for my order after receiving it i pulled in a parking spot and proceeded to eat first bite mouth full of onions I wasn't mad mistakes happen so I went in and asked to speak with the manager and this is where things turn horrible I was met with a lady named Betty who seemed really annoyed with my presence I explained the situation and asked could my burger be re made now I'm Hispanic and African American but I do get mistaken for Indian. I have really liked this Culver's for years. I love their food. Their staff seem to try very hard. I know that staffing can be difficult in these days. But, Culver's,, it is time to figure it out. You had multiple frustrated people in your parking lot tonight. I am tired of the poorly blocked,poorly lit sign in the drive thru and having to maneuver through the parking lot that says you are closed. I am tired of the small sign on the door of the dining area that one can not see from the parking lot that you are closed due to staffing.am tired of the inconsistency of the hours of operation I am tired with the lack of warning of closure. People not wanting to work, salary, poor management, whatever it is, please fix it . I used to see happy appearing employees with happy managers over the years. Now I see stressed and tired. Limit your hours consistently and rebuild staff. Please do not let a wonderful place to eat close down, Thank you. Why not recruit from a senior living apartment complex or program. There is a possibility of finding reliable workers with a great work ethic. I like Culver's, but I don't love them. Their burgers are good and certainly much better than McD's or BK. Their patties look like they're hand made on-site and aren't cooked to death. The fries and onion rings are pretty good. They try to market their frozen custards as Concretes, but I wouldn't want one turned upside down over my head - no where near thick enough and cold enough for that. My biggest gripe is the price. Their food isn't good enough to charge the premium price they do. Example, a swiss patty melt, onion rings and a Oreo concrete was just under $10! Granted you can get out of their with a basic burger, fries and a drink for closer to $6, but that's at the low end. Wrong order at drive thru. We ordered aCHOCOLATE concrete with Reeses peanut butter cups, and a MEDIUM cup of chocolate ice cream. The order taker repeated what she thought she heard, and it didn't sound right to us, she talked fast and a bit muffled. So my husband repeated our order. I was picking up orders for myself and 2 others. I spent an hour in the drive thru lane (I was told later by the GM that it's not his fault I spent an hour there in line-- but really, once you're in, you're in). When I got to the window and paid for my food, I was parked for another 15 minutes. I ordered 2 deluxe doubles, 1 4pc chicken strip with Honey Mustard and 3 Onion Rings. When I finally got my food, I got 2 onion rings, honey mustard and 2 regular hamburgers, which I figured out upon arrival back to where we were eating. Paying nearly $30 for 2 hamburgers, 2 onion rings and honey mustard isn't really ever part of my plan, so I returned. I spent over 5 minutes inside before I was ever even approached. Finally, the same young man who brought out my food to my car, came to the counter. I proceeded to tell him that my drive thru order was not right. An older man (The GM- as stitched on his apron) with his back to us at the counter said that he would "handle me". A few minutes later he finally came over. He snatched the receipt out of my hand and said he packaged it himself and there couldn't possibly be anything wrong with it. I told him what I told you here and said I would appreciate it very much if they could just replace the order. And then he lost his damn mind and yelled at me about having a "Fucking awful" day (I was too shocked to remind him that him having a bad day isn't my fault, at all). I told him his attitude and language was appalling and not acceptable from the GM or anyone else and reminded him that there were 2 young children in the lobby (maybe 6 or 7 year old little girls). He told me he didn't fucking care and if I didn't fucking like it I could fucking leave. Seems to me that if he wants to keep his F'ing job he should watch his F'ing mouth and attitude. I've never in my life been spoken to like that by the GM of a place like Culver's and I'll never go back. Enjoyed the crispy white delicate cod dinner, juicy and boneless; something a person who thinks they don't like fish might enjoy. The crust was still substantially crispy after a 15 minute drive home. My French fries were perfectly crispy outside, and tender on the inside, with that nice potato taste, instead of being overpowered by oil flavor. Another side was a coleslaw, creamy and crunchy, and very enjoyable. I'll be sure to be back. I must say, I read some reviews that had my expectations rather low, but my experience was extremely good. Kudos to the staff!! Things obviously have turned around here! read more

First of all the drive thru is not big enough for customers to get by customers waiting if they receive their order before the people in front of them. The man behind was stuck there till the three cars in front of him got ours. Now for my experience... I ordered 2 cheeseburgers, cheese curds and onion rings, the kid delivering the orders came out with 2 bags. Gave the one to the guy behind me and went back in came out a few minutes later and went back in. The 3rd time I asked him what number he was looking for. He replied oh this is your order. I checked and it was missing the onion rings, he went in came back out with a bag. He said "they made a whole order I don't know what to do with this one". As he handed me the onion rings out of it. I said "Give it to me I'll give you back this one it is cold now". He replied no that I had already touched it. I asked him what he was going to do with it throw it away? He replied "probably. ". I said" well throw this cold one away and give me the fresh one" to which he replied "no I might eat it. " By then I was so angry. Was craving a burger and decided to stop by on my lunch break. Went through the drive through since I was short on time and it still took over 30 mins. When I finally got to the window I paid and they handed me my order and repeated it correctly, but when I got back to my office and finally sat down to eat I realized they had given me a fish sandwich. I am not normally one to give a low rating due to a messed up order but I feel they should be more organized and careful when customers are waiting over 30 minutes for their order! If you're in a hurry and want a good burger, drop by Culver's. It's definitely better than the Big Three (McDonald's, Burger King, and Wendy's). The food is made to order so it does take a bit longer but the wait is worth it. I'm not a huge fan of the french fries. They look like Runza's but aren't nearly as good. If I could award you with zero stars, I would. This was the most uncomfortable, crude experience I've had in awhile. I order a custard with raspberry apparently it only comes in one size, or she just didn't ask me. I go to the window and the young gentlemen greets me, he's polite. Then she comes and literally stares deep into my soul as she hands me the custard. We didn't speak she just looks at me and hands it to me. This is the kicker, as the window closes I'm pretty sure she called me a 'bitch' to the other cashier. I wasn't for sure and honestly not sure why she would say this about me. You're not busy, I'm pretty sure my meal just paid for your hourly wage, and you serve ice cream be nice!!! After my custard has been tainted I was handed a number... to go to a parking spot to wait for my food. Alright, let me give you a bit of a back story before I write my review of this place. The night we ( my other half and I) went to Culver's the weather outside was horrendous. It was storming and raining cats and dogs. There was no acceptable dinner food in the house, it was almost 8 o'clock, and we were starving. Let me also tell you that no matter how hungry I am, hamburgers never seem like a good option. I just don't like burgers. So, when the other half suggested this place I threw a toddler like temper tantrum and meltdown proclaiming there was nothing at this place I could eat! Doesn't he know I hate hamburgers?? Fast forward a few minutes and we are en route to Culver's. We pull into the parking lot and he tries to go through the drive through. Let meltdown number two begin. Alright, maybe I'm exaggerating a bit, but I was hungry, I finally went inside, begrudgingly stomping through every puddle I could find while battling the monsoon that was coming from the sky. Alright, now that I've shared way too much detail about something not exactly critical for the review, we can begin. My other half ordered a Butterburger and fries, which I am sure is what he gets every time he's went there before. He ate all of it, so I assume it was quite tasty. I ended up going with the reuben sandwich and a side order of french fries. I know what you're thinking. Two toddler meltdowns from a grown woman and all she had to do was order a reuben? I know. I blame it on the weather. The service was a bit slow, but the cashier made up for it by offering us a free sample of the days custard flavor. They also couldn't find any thousand island packets, so they gave me a custard cup lid with it in there. A bit odd, but it worked. The reuben ended up being quite delicious and tasty.The meat on the sandwich was tender and the bread was a good thickness. I would have liked a bit more sauerkraut, but my breath begs to differ. So, the moral of the story is Culver's isn't so bad after all. I have found something on the menu that I like, and my other half can have his butter burgers without having to listen to me whine ever again.I will be back! * I will definitely update this review once I have tried more than just a sample of their custard. read more
