Always good burgers, and custard for the money. Good stop for a trip to MSU, very close to the freeway, right outside the university. I had a custard, which was an excellent! It was thick with a creamy richness in every spoonful. There was no reason for me to get a medium, that was just greed, small for my weight is more than enough!

Culver's is a fresh to order "fast food" restaurant. Meaning, it's not like McDonald's, Burger King, or the typical fast food joints -- which is a good thing. Yes, you will wait a little extra to get hot (or cold, if you're getting a shake, or other cold menu item), freshly made food (that you ordered), that is brought to your vehicle. Alternatively, you could go inside and dine in, if you're looking to stretch your limbs. The staff is friendly, polite, and reaffirm your order is to your liking, because face it, you're waiting a little extra for a fresh, prepared meal. If you're unfamiliar with Culver's drive-thru, you're handed a number card to put on your window/side of your car, and pull up to a designated waiting area; where once you're order is ready, you'll be given the goods, and they'll take their number card back. They have a wide selection of menu items, with some that change regularly, such as the featured menu items, their flavor of the day (ice cream and such), fish, chicken, or beef sandwich meals. They also have value baskets, combos, or you can just do a sandwich. Prices are reasonable, again, fresh made food. This particular location is also conveniently located off I-96, close to a newly built Sunoco/Jimmy Johns /Dunkin Donuts. So you can also gas up nearby while you're at it. The burger I ordered was the cheddar butterburger with bacon. It was hot off the grill, juicy, and fresh; especially, the crunch of the pickles, lettuce, onion, savory buttered bun, crispy bacon, and tender tomato. It was definitely a great burger pick-me-up on the go.

Semi-friendly staff, but the service is so so slow. I don't mind waiting a few minutes but damn! Cmon! I'm the only customer and it takes 10 minutes for a single burger and small fry. My sundae was small as f***, too.

Very slow service. Seemed to be lacking any sense of organization in the kitchen and on the order counter. Not impressed.

What's more to say it's culvers better than any other fast food spots in Michigan. Sometimes you wait but it's well worth it.

Food is good. Its about as good as fast food gets (for me at least). Clean building and friendly staff.

Wow! All of the Stars!…read more Tavern 109 in Williamston is such a cool spot. It used to be a bank, and is now a quaint exposed brick, retro ambiance restaurant. I felt like I was in a movie with Johnny Depp playing John Dillinger, or that Al Capone was going to race down Main Street leaning out the window letting his "typewriter" lose, with a black and white cop car screaming up behind him. It just puts you in a different period. And the food! My goodness. We ordered the Hot Honey Chicken Pizza, Jalapeño Artichoke Dip and my wife got a side of the Ginger Carrot Bisque. Phenomenal, all of it. I don't know what I enjoyed the most. The pizza was a perfect 10" size, with incredible flavor and crunchy crust. They certainly do not skimp on toppings. The artichoke dip was insanely good! The naan bread was baked to perfection and sprinkled with a perfect amount of salt to complement the dip. The soup was a good as it sounds too! Service was top notch. We were seated immediately (around 9pm) and our waitress was very helpful. She made sure our drinks were topped off and kept us up to speed on the status of our food. We will absolutely be back and we will be recommending Tavern 109 to all of our family & friends.

It was like two locations side by side, but I got to see both by heading to the restroom. Would definitely enjoy dining here again if we were in the neighborhood.

Big time, baby!! In those 58 years, the exterior has not changed except for a patio on the back side. The men's room is really small; much like Texaz Grill in Phoenix!! No door on the toilet stall to this day. Seating area has same setup; booths and tables appear to have been replaced over those years. Dagwood's offers 10 or more draft beers today. The classic MIchelob is absent. I had ham and bean soup, cheeseburger and fries. The soup is homemade and just what I wanted. Burgers are all smash-style; cooked to order and still juicy. To me, the fries are the hit; hand-cut fresh potatoes fried to order and great! Saturday afternoon was a little spotty but they got the job done. Dagwood's is a classic college dive bar with good food cooked behind the bar for all customers to see.

I gotta say for the past seven years I have been a Culver's fan. Though I really can't tell the…read moredifference between a butter, burger, deluxe, and a Deluxe hamburger, the taste has always brought me back. In the beginning, it was a little bit more pricey for the food, but it just tasted better. So I didn't mind. The last few times, they cannot seem to get it together while charging higher and higher prices. Last night we visited again, reluctantly. Jimmy John's was across the driveway and a Cracker Barrel across the street. I would've sufficed for that, but my wife wanted some of the extras that only Culver's can give. For a family of four, our bill used to be around $45. Last night it was almost 65. And in a day and age where people are really counting their pennies, it didn't sit right. Let me set the atmosphere for you, we came in to the lobby. Always impeccably clean. We were greeted by the cashier. She was young, helpful and kind. So far so good. Much better than the girl that was at the drive-through window the week before when I just came through late at night to pick up a couple of Sundays you know, the two scoop caramel with cashews? But that's a whole Nother story. Two scoops of ice cream, a bunch of cashews and a hint of caramel for $13? Definitely not worth it. Nor was her attitude. Getting back to last night we ordered four combos. Our girl was very fast and very courteous. So fast that I couldn't keep up with adding the next thing to my order. We asked for two sets of onion rings and two french fries. With multiple burgers, which then became combos. Somehow, we got 5 cups for four people and a slushie drink. The lobby was not busy, which is a rarity for Culver's. We thought this will be easy Peezy. My wife saw the tally and told me not to look at the card reader and just pay it. Lol. This building used to be one of the best. Customer Service was so high. I felt like I was at a Chick-fil-A. (who still holds the bar for accuracy and politeness) my wife wanted to check through the large bags we got before we went out to the car, because they almost always forget something or give you something different. I didn't want to stay in there any longer so we got into the car and yes, we got one onion ring, and three french fry. We sought to go around to the drive-through and have it exchanged, but the line was long and our food would get cold before we get anything done. And that's not really too big of a deal because we like the french fries but also like to get what we ordered and paid for. We got home and as usual, the deluxe burgers that I've loved was once again burnt to a crisp on the outside rim of the burger, and very salty. It's been this way the last three times I've been to Culver's. I know McDonald's can be garbage, but they never burn their burgers. I really don't know what's happened that this has become a consistent thing. Since I have moved to Lansing, Culver's have popped up all over the state. Maybe they are just getting too big to care? I hope not. But the younger generation have attitudes in every bit of their lives, especially in a workplace that they don't appreciate. Many complain that they don't get paid enough to do a good job. I don't know that's the case for Culver's. But something is amiss in their kitchen.
