FPO and I had never tried Culver's before. We'd been running evening errands and it was after 8 pm so most of the places we would've gone to were closed. We'd been meaning to try Culver's for a while. The restaurant was clean, the drive-thru was doing some brisk business. The employees were friendly and helpful. The food was hot and fresh. I wanted to go back again the following day but I think pretzel bites should really be considered a treat rather than a basic food group. (Sometimes being a grown-up sucks.) I had the fish dinner and it was delicious. FPO had one of the burgers and cheese curds, which were both favorably compared to Freddy's. We will definitely be going back.

Culvers is probably my favorite fast food burger spot. I almost always go with a mushroom Swiss burger. It's always tasty and is just good comfort food. I love a good crinkle cut fry and they deliver. I did try the infamous curder burger on my last visit. It was fine. It's one of those gimmicky things that's ok once but you'd rather just have the usual going forward. I love the spicy tenders but they've been out of spicy chicken for FOREVER! I don't know what the deal is. But if they ever bring back the heat, definitely try it. They also deliver in the custard department. I love ice cream and all variations of it so I like to stock up on pints. If you go inside there's a little freezer towards the front that's filled with all sorts of flavors and combinations. They sell 4 pints for $12.99 which is a hell of a deal and much cheaper than buying a concrete.

The food is great. I love cheese curds. The servers were very nice. One even did magic tricks for us! The place is very clean. Definitely will come back!

Have visited the Metcalf Culver's location three times since my mediocre review in January. I am very pleased to report the January visit was a fluke as stated within my original review. Kudos to the staff whom have always showed professionalism, courtesy, 'true' customer service (Manager asking customers how everything is) and showing respect. On this last visit, ordered the chicken strips and mashed potatoes/chicken gravy. Hot, fresh and delicious. Will continue supporting this Mission location.

We got a salted caramel pumpkin concrete - and I have to say, they missed the mark here. You just gotta add graham crackers. It's a necessary condition to a well-rounded texture; without it, it's too smooth. Of course, you must get whipped cream on top. It was pretty good, though. A note on Culver's staff and flavor amalgamations: They're both wonderful. The staff really does a spectacular job. You can tell at each and ever Culver's you visit that it's developed in the mix. These people - more than the food, really - are just great at customer service. But the flavors! How do they do it? I don't know, but they do it almost better than any other shop - Cold Stone is nearly magic, so they win the flavor battle. But Culver's makes food too, so they win the war. Try a salted pumpkin concrete with graham crackers - and stay far away from the pumpkin shake unless you're a weirdo that likes plain pumpkin. Either way, you're making a good decision - whatever you are.

Shake Shack - ShackBurger & fries: the standard bearer.

You're…read moregoing to get a pretty good burger, maybe messier than other places, but it's going to be full of flavor and topped how you want it. But the brand that expanded westward so quickly doesn't seem to maintain its same zing, at least not at this location. This is a smaller location, clearly designed for more of a pick-up/delivery service operation, and the service definitely represents that. All of the ordering is done via kiosk, which is fine, but it embodies the impersonal nature of casual dining these days. The robotic nature of self-service seems to only lend to the blasé nature of the people that are working. They aren't rude by any means; they're just seemingly disinterested in actual service. Order, find a table, wait a few, and your food is brought to you. Lather, rinse, repeat. It's still a really good burger and there are lots of options. Shake Shack even gives you options for a mushroom burger, where the patty is replaced by a portobello mushroom. Maybe my burger wasn't perfect this time, and the "Parmesan Garlic Fries" were just fries dusted with powdered parmesan, so this visit wasn't exactly knocking my socks off. It was more a representation of the service than the brand. So if you're getting it to go, then you're probably in good shape. If you're getting it to stay put, then don't expect much.

My shack burger ($9.49) with fries ($3.49) was brought to my table six minutes after I ordered at one of the four order kiosks (cash customers can use the counter). The burger had fresh veggies and two nicely sized, slightly overcooked, greasy patties that completely saturated the bottom bun and the tray liner. The generous portion of crinkle fries was also overcooked. The dining area was nice and new, but the tables had not been wiped down from the night before. I noticed a patio out front and 80's background music in the dining room with other competing music coming from the kitchen. I'm thinking 2.5 stars but rounding up because it's a new location that may eventually get their act together.

Chick In Waffle - Garlic Parmesan Bun Combo (Drink Included but Not Shown)

Wings: The garlic parm was the standout -- fresh, flavorful, and honestly better than my usual Buffalo Wild Wings order. The tikka masala didn't really taste like tikka masala (more like a standard BWW flavor), but it was still tasty. The only drawback was the size of the wings -- smaller than I expected. Next time I'll probably go for the 16 or 20 piece. Waffle: I picked the Belgian waffle with maple syrup dip. It came hot but not crispy, with just a dusting of powdered sugar. Still sweet and enjoyable, though next time I want to try the bubble waffle for something different. Fries: Got the seasoned fries on the side -- good flavor and seasoning, though like the waffle, they weren't super crisp. Still tasty on their own, but I would've loved an option to pick dips (ranch, queso, garlic parm, etc.) instead of just being handed four maple syrups. Extras & Drinks: They also offer mac & cheese or the bubble waffle as side options, plus unique teas and lemonades for $1 more, or milkshakes for $4.50. Prices on extra dips are $0.99 each. Overall, it's a fun and unique concept -- fair-style food in a neighborhood spot. The food is flavorful, not always the crispiest or warmest on carryout, but easily fixed with a microwave or air fryer. I'll definitely be back, especially to try the bubble waffle and maybe some loaded fries or wraps/buns during happy hour (2-4 PM).

However, I came here again and ordered the boneless wings, fries, cookies & cream shake, mac and cheese, and a chicken wrap that I shared with my girlfriend. This food was absolutely incredible. The boneless wings were crispy, the fries were seasoned well and had a nice crunch, the cookies & cream shake made me want more even though I'm not much of a sweet person, the mac and cheese was warm and made my stomach feel light, and the chicken wrap had great flavor and even better, it was $5 as part of a limited special. The service has always been great. The workers are very helpful, kind, and friendly. You can tell they want to ensure you are having the best experience possible. Also, you can't forget the button to win a free meal. I have not won yet, but I'm sure it'll come eventually. If you're in the area, I highly recommend coming to this location you won't regret it.

Keven greeted me and walked me through their spice levels - so on the side of using good judgement I went for a medium 2 strip dinner. Made fresh to order it took about 8 minutes to get my order but it was a lovely change from the slightly warm chicken generally found at a fast food restaurant. These chicken strips were huge! And they've been crusted with the flavor - not drenched in sauce. The chicken was moist and delicious as were the seasoned fries. This will become a go to spot for chicken - winning out over any of the more well known places for me!

Overall, it gives the restaurant a modern street style feel with the bold colors and graffiti around. We bought 2 - one tender and one slider combos $14 each along with buffalo style Mac and cheese with three small chicken pieces $7 and the final bill including tip was $42. The tenders were packed with flavor - crispy and juicy chicken. It was perfectly fried and had the right amount of medium level spice on it. However the buffalo style Mac and cheese was cold and underwhelming - three pieces of chicken with hardly any actual Mac and cheese and fries - it was not what I expected. I definitely expected more Mac and cheese haha. Another downside for me was the pricing of the combos/food- it was high because if you look at the combo it's just two tenders with some bread and sauce. Portion wise it didn't really match the pricing for more of a fast food restaurant setup. The restaurant was clean otherwise and the service was decent - nothing amazing as such. Overall, good fast food with high pricing for what you get.
