I took my grandbaby to the Culver's in Mishawaka the other day after her practice, and let me tell you, it was such a breath of fresh air. From the moment we walked in, that young man at the counter greeted us with a real smile--none of that huffing and puffing or acting like we were a bother. He was so patient while my granddaughter was trying to pick out her custard flavor, just as sweet as he could be. It's rare these days to find a place where the staff actually has a spirit of service. They brought our ButterBurgers right to the table, hot and fresh, and even stopped by to ask if we needed any more sauce or a refill. Burgers are always great. Chicken tenders are really good. Cheese curds are always awesome. Unfortunately, very disappointed with the cod sandwich. I expected for $6.59 that it would be large and flavorful. Instead, I received a piece that was 3/4 the size of the bun with no seasoning or salt and with almost no lettuce or sauce. Trying this chain for the first time from the West Coast. It certainly did not disappoint! The burger tasted way better than I anticipated for a fast food chain. I ordered the mushroom and Swiss burger and a concrete mixer. The concrete mixer was reminiscent of a McFlurry, but much thicker. Stopped in for lunch. Wife got the Cod basket which didn't come with a drink and I got the double cheeseburger basket large size. Cod had zero flavor and the double cheeseburger was burnt. The price was more expensive ($31) than our Culver's in Stevensville Mi. We have been here once before and it wasn't good then either. This will most likely be our last visit. read more

Once upon a time I use to work in the area and would come here all the time. My burger was never sloppy, the flavor was always on point and service was great. Now they quickly try to get your order out without attention to detail, but the flavor is still there. The frozen custard is also always a treat with a new flavor of the day, every day. I would suggest mainly coming here for the frozen custard and the root beer float. read more

We live in between both Elkhart and the Mishawaka restaurant. However, when I have time, I prefer going to the mishawaka one. I have found this one to have extremely nice staff and they are very attentive to their customers. Their restaurant is always clean, and the upkeep is always done. Love, love, love Culver's but, why do you guys put all that sloppy sauce (ketchup mustard, and mayonnaise) all over it. It masques the flavor of the beef and takes away any chance of crispy edges. The mayo puts the burger over the top and makes it VERY sloppy to eat. This is a perfect example of taking a great burger and putting too much crap on it. And, the mayo & mustard detract from the greatness of the awesome Butterburger. read more

I LIKE Culver's, but to quote Seinfeld, I'm just not "gaga" about them... Culver's has some of the most polite employees I have ever encountered- like how Martin's USED to be. I ordered the Double Cheese Burger, fries and a Coke, extra pickles on the side. In about ten minutes I got exactly what I asked for! The burger was juicy, meaty and tasty- but not the best I ever had. I have ALWAYS HATED starch-coated fries (I will add my rant about these on the bottom of this review). I strongly SUSUPECT Culver's fries are at least lightly starch-coated. Culver's has a very Midwestern feel to it, that's not easy to detect if you've grown up here as I have. As I said before, I LIKE Culver's; I'm just not gaga about them. ****************************************************************** I HATE STARCH COATED FRIES! I HATE starch coated fries! Some restaurants want to be able to #1) Be able to cook their fries ahead of time so they can push orders out faster (fast food!) and #2) they want to cut down on their food waste so they can serve "acceptable product " that has been sitting for too long instead of throwing it out and making fresh. The starch coating makes the fries crisp and the warming lights make them hot - BUT, THEY DON'T TASTE GOOD!!! You end up with something that is like a cross between a Pringles potato chip and a French fry, a type of FRANKEN-FRY!! I think of greasy sawdust sticks when I see these things. THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE FOR FRESH MADE FRIES !!! The Mishawaka Culver's location offers up average to below-average food and custard. That's not my justification for the 1 star review, however. The staff here are constantly abused by an upper staff member. I've been here a number of times, and while this hasn't always occurred, I've witnessed two particular incidences where one specific older manager has straight up harassed his cashiers. THIS IS NOT OKAY. The first was left almost sobbing, and the second looked extremely uncomfortable. Suffice to say, I have not returned, and I never will. I will not spend one extra penny on an establishment that mistreats its employees - in a field already so difficult to deal with in and of itself. If you're still reading this: please do not support this location. Ritter's has better custard, and just about any restaurant off of Main has better food. I don't go here very often and now I remember why. Ordered a cod dinner when asked about sides I wasn't told that not all sides were included in my choices. A three piece fish dinner cost me over 20 dollars with a drink. The woman in the speaker was rude and in a hurry since they were busy. I was in a state of shock to pay more at this type of restaurant then to add insult to injury I waited over 20 minutes for my food. I love Culver's and order the same thing every time and never had an issue, tonight was a different story. I went to order my usual and the girl seemed to have no idea what she was doing, so she's a trainee, no biggie. I asked her to read back my order and she just told me to pull forward so I did, the guy at the window told me my total and handed me my food and said "we're just getting the water for you" I corrected him that it was supposed to be a root beer and he made very rude comments to his coworker with the window wide open. I work fast food and know that customers can be a drag sometimes but I've never been so upset over a correction of MY mistake. I ordered a cheeseburger meal and a cod filet sandwich with just lettuce since I can't eat tartar sauce. I'm missing my fries and the filet has so much tartar than the entire bottom of the container is covered in a thick layer. Obviously I'm disappointed but I mostly want a manager to see this and train them properly because there's clearly some issues going on there. Bottom line: if you're unsure about a customers order, just read it back. If the customer is correcting your mistake, just give them what they asked for. We're possibly the last people in town who had not been to Culvers! LOL.. We visited the Mishawaka location. We had coupons and wanted something different. The whole experience was enjoyable. We went to the drive thru as we were on our way out of town. The service was fast and the young man was very polite. The burgers exceeded our expectations as did the Concrete Mixers that we ordered. My wife and I were shocked by the quality of the staff that served us to the outstanding quality of the food. We will go back. read more

I've given them several chances and they have not changed one bit, this location is anything but fast food. Don't bother going through the drive thu unless you enjoy waiting for 15-20 minutes in your car pulled up (including slower times of the day and no other cars in line, you will still be pulled up). As for quality of food, it has been up and down, some days the food can be fine, other days I question what the point of the ordering screen is for, I just went there last night and saw my burger on the screen how I ordered it (Cheese, Pickles, Ketchup, Mustard, and Lettuce). Ended up after a 15 minute wait in line, driving home to discover I had Ketchup and Pickles on my burger and nothing else. And I've already tried contacting the company directly since no one at this location will bother to help you and their only response was "there's nothing we can really do for you". I would recommend you avoid this place and try something down the street for a better chance of actually getting "fast food" that doesn't suffer from random quality issues. read more

Made a quick stop off the x-way on my way back from Chicago. Culver's is a frequent stop on my way back to michigan. I was looking forward to some juicy butter burgers. This was not the case. Burger number one was well done and not juicy at all. Burger number two, well burger number two was totally inedible. It was so over cooked that it had a hard crust on it. Since I got home late i completed an online survey. Later a manager called and left a message. I have called back to the store three times and asked for the manager that left the message.
