Look at that big water cup.
    Anne P.

I don't ever write bad reviews, this is my very first one. Today I went to Cold Stone with my husband and daughter. We have gone many times before and always enjoyed our over priced ice cream. I always like to have a cup of water with my ice cream and they've always given one when I've asked. They sell Dasani there but it is gross so I prefer tap water. Anyway, today the woman said she wasn't allowed to give water and I had to buy it bottled. I said I've always had a water cup from there with my ice cream and she said "I'm not sure about that" (wtf?? was she questioning me??) and then her coworker said to her "they're allowed to have water" and she said "I was told to never give water" and the other lady just glared at her so then she says "I'll do it this time" (this time? really? What about the 20+ times I've been there before and it's never been an issue?)... So then we get to the register and my daughter and husband both asked for water too (not hearing my conversation that I just had with her) and she was not happy about it...and then she brought us the smallest cups that exist on this planet. You better believe I made her refill mine more than once too. Oh and to top it off, I texted someone I know who works there to tell her about it. She said that the woman was being rude and that isn't the policy at all. Then told me she just quit working there because he health code violations grossed her out...

Mmmmm.....cake batter ice cream with brownie bites on a waffle cone. Yummmmmy!

The best milkshakes & ice cream options in the area, with a very friendly staff to boot (Lauren & Lily). Highly recommend

Terrible customer service every time we visit. Dirty nasty floors! Nasty tables, yet everyone behind the counter huddles and talks!

The sign on the door has the correct hours, but that's not really helpful once I've already gotten there just after closing.

My boyfriend and I were feeling silly in June 2026 and wanted ice cream for brunch so decided to go here after a quick search on Yelp. Inside felt like a mix of Grease, Pleasantville, and the Fallout TV show with tin lunchboxes, pictures of classic cars, and cheeky signs decorating every square inch of the inside. While waiting for our food, we hummed along to the music of the 1950s and 1960s playing on the speakers from the same Sirius XM station my parents listen to. Some artists we heard during our lunch there included The Ronettes, Elvis, The Bobettes, The Crests, and The Temptations! Since we both ordered "baskets," we got our sandwiches with fries and a soda. My boyfriend got the green river phosphate soda and I got a diet root beer. His phosphate was so bright neon green that it definitely stood out! We only waited about 5 minutes for our food but that was still enough time to look around the place and listen to some of the orders being placed by cars over the speakers as well as flip through an early 2000s book on some of the must visit hamburger restaurants in the USA. See attached picture for a screenshot of that list. Now, my grilled pb and banana sandwich was a decent size. Not too big and actually reflecting the portion sized people in the 1950s used to eat! The prices reflected the "small-ish" portions as well as we only paid $7.99 for my basket and his was $10.99. The white toast was heavily buttered and the pb was creamy. I would have preferred crunchy pb for texture reasons. The crinkle fries needed salt but they hit the spot! The food itself wasn't anything special but the vibes were perfect! After eating our real food, we then got our heavily anticipated bowls of sugar upon sugar. My bf's medium tin roof sundae was quite large and indulgent ($4.99). But I definitely went hard in indulging. I treated myself to the classic cars sundae ($5.99) with a scoop of birthday cake and caramel moose tracks with strawberry syrup topping. I laugh cried when it came out, I was so happy! It was sooooo much sugar. The total with cash was about $32 and with credit card, it was $33.34 as there is a 4% fee for using a card. I left 40 bucks in cash for the meal and the tip. Then we left and I immediately died of a sugar rush. The end!

We have been here…read morebefore but it's been a while, so there was some news items I didn't remember from my prior trip. We were greeted nicely as we came in, and we're happy to see it was not overly busy as we know it can be! We had someone who needed No sugar added ice cream and she was happy to know there was 2-3 options available. She chose moose tracks and loved it! She said it was of course not as good as the "real deal" in her words but delicious and creamy in its own right. My 13 year old had her go-to chocolate, which was gigantic! I had a little taste and it was creamy and sweet! I chose the espresso/coffee house flavor of the day: it was magic! Chocolate pieces and rich espresso flavor was amazing! They gentlemen working the counter were very friendly and polite and the facility felt very clean and welcoming with big wood tables for large groups. I liked that they had a coffee house/sandwich shop added which I did not remember from before. I will have to return and try a grilled cheese panini sometime . I highly recommend the chief for a delicious weekend treat with the family!

My wife got the Peanut Butter Oreo. Did I make a huge mistake? Yes. Yes, I did. The mint chocolate chip is delicious and all, but they nailed it with the PB Oreo. I had a borderline existential crisis right there. What had I done with my life? How many times have I overlooked the PB Oreo? Who is Kafkaesque? I don't know him. In case you're not picking up what I'm putting down--the PB Oreo is the way to go. Now that I live in Kansas, this place is all the more special to me. Whether this one or the one on Lincoln Ave--they know what's up. The Chief is a staple for the Michiana area. The service. The people. The flavors. Yes, please.
