It should be against the law to serve a salad with cheese that has mold on it!
    spoken k.

As you can see, it's been a minute since I've been to Culver's. I feel nauseous.. I went here after work tonight at 5:30. I was starved. I'll be returning the salad to Culver's on Post Road tomorrow. I have the salad and the receipt in the car. I threw the fish sandwich in the garbage after two bites because she mushy sat there all day soggy mac & cheese. I ate some of it. It wasn't good. I was starved that's what happens. You know what they say. You don't go to the restaurant or to the grocery store starving should've waited till I had got home. I'm sure I could've whipped up something much better so you live and learn and they failed again. I understand what the white stuff is on cheese but when you're buying something fresh not aging. It means that cheese is aging. It's not as fresh as it was. It's OK for me at my house, but I don't want it when I'm eating out. I won't be returning.. I was hungry but I'm not that hungry so $16 later it's just a waste of my money and that pisses me off more than anything else! It's Tuesday, November 25 2025

Mushroom and Swiss double butter burger

Mushroom and Swiss double butter burger is my go to here. Always fresh and tasty. I normally do drive though.

Not bad for fast food fish and chips!

I generally find fast food chains disgusting, and I'm likely to take my money and caloric limits elsewhere. Culver's, however, is the pride of the Midwest (in the fast food world). During the pandemic, places that offered drive-thru began going to the top of my list. This location, in beautiful Lawrence, has excellent service. For a staff largely made up of teenagers and younger adults, it operates with the efficiency of a lower-end Swiss watch (think Tissot rather than Patek Philippe). Despite very long lines, the customer can have his or her meal in under 15 minutes. The staff is polite, helpful, and relatively professional. Pandemic or no pandemic, the food is tasty. I'm particularly fond of their "North Atlantic Cod Dinner," which is a fancy way of saying "fish 'n chips." While their fried tenderloin does not rival those served in Hoosier mom-and- pop joints, it's A-OK for fast food. Be sure to top any meal off with a Concrete Mixer, even in the winter.

Service was awesome, food typical for fast food, but many seem to love the food. I myself dine for the custard.

After paying and waiting I never received my order. The staff was unhelpful. Absolute horrible service. The worst Culver's in the area.

The service is outstanding from the moment you walk in--friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without ever feeling rushed. The staff clearly knows their menu and is always happy to offer great recommendations, whether you're in the mood for a classic pour or something new. The food is just as impressive. Everything is well-prepared, full of flavor, and clearly made with care. It's the kind of place where the food easily stands on its own, not just "good for a bar," but legitimately excellent. Between the top-tier service, fantastic food, and relaxed yet energetic atmosphere, Whiskey Business consistently delivers a great experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a place that gets everything right.

The server got the togo order for me and brought it to the door since I had the kids. I appreciate that. Now for the food, this was very limited sample so don't let it prevent you from trying the establishment. It looked fun inside and there was a patio outside for dining and hanging out. DYNAMITE CHICKEN ROLLS $12.65 Egg Rolls Stuffed With Grilled Chicken, Spicy Black Beans and Corn. Served with Southwest Ranch. These were dry and not spicy at all. There were about 3 beans and pieces of corn per half eggroll. If the ranch was inside the eggroll, I couldn't tell. Only the space I chose made it spicy at all. It came with a small pile of shredded lettuce and again several beans and pieces of corn. ISLANDER BURGER $17.25 Premium Ground Beef, Grilled Pineapple, Tropical Rum Glaze, Cheddar, Mayo on a Toasted Bun Good concept, plenty of pineapple and mayo but not much flavor. I don't know if the meat is seasoned but it sure didn't seem like it. Not much bourbon glaze or flavor there either. Cole slaw side was creamy and a good portion size.

It has been over ten years since my original review of Fort Ben Pub, a locally owned pub and grill…read moretype establishment located in the Fort Ben area in the same strip center that includes Moo & Lou's Ice Cream and Phaya Thai. There's a wheelchair ramp in the middle of the building - I'll be honest, I don't quite trust it as I've noticed people in this parking area tend to block it without noticing it. There's also easy access from a ramp at the end of the building. Lawrence has done quite a bit to improve their curb cuts in this area, an area that has grown massively since my last review including 2-3 apartment buildings, a library branch, and an improved civic plaza. Fort Ben Pub itself is pretty accessible, though it becomes less so when it's packed (for example, my most recent visit was on a Friday karaoke night and accessibility was definitely more limited). There's two glass doors going inside the pub and, yes, they do offer a few tables on the sidewalk for outside dining. As you enter, you arrive in a large dining area with a beautiful bar to the right. The restaurant is decorated in warm woods with a few televisions of varying sizes and, on this evening, background music playing. On this visit, I was with a festival after-party that was placed off the main area in a smaller area that had two pool tables along with a variety of food/appetizers, etc. It's a cozy room that gave me a chance to check out the rest of the building. I did see the restrooms, which I would definitely not consider accessible - plan accordingly. I could possibly get in the door of the men's restroom, but it was quite tight and I have a smaller chair. This is a beloved place for a friend of mine who lives nearby and within walking distance. They treat her well. She was there during this visit, and I honestly just smiled at their clear affection for her (it's mutual). I love places that become community, and knowing this makes me want to return. That said, my accessibility concerns do somewhat limit my options. Fort Ben Pub does offer space for private events/groups and does catering. They have pool tables, Putt Putt live, Mega Touch, and Golden Tee and most of the sports network channels. While I'd tried both their tenderloin and burger in the past, I had a variety of items this time around due to the after-party, though not everything it seems was on the menu (or I'm just not recognizing it). As I noted previously and my friend also proves, the employees are super friendly and helpful. There are definitely times when it gets busy, though it's also pretty easy to come here during slower times. This particular visit was the first time I'd experienced accessibility issues. There's an awful lot to love here. I have to say that while I wasn't in the room with karaoke, the people were having a blast with such sincere enthusiasm that I was almost in awe. I've done karaoke one time in my life, and I don't think there's enough alcohol in the world to fuel another attempt. I also know from being close to the folks at Moo & Lou that these businesses watch out for each other - which I really like as it's a nice little safety factor. In the end, my star rating isn't changing but my appreciation for Fort Ben Pub has grown. This visit made me want to return in the near future, and it made me grateful for those places where you can get so comfortable that it feels like the people become part of your village. That's Fort Ben Pub.
