I can't believe I've lived in five years I've lived in 4 states and never tried Culvers! Well that recently changed and I'm here to talk about it. Located on Ladson road in a safe and easy to access area, Culvers is home of two notable products; the butter burger and concrete. I will start out with for some reason all the cars were in one line, totally dismissing the other order station which I accessed and skipped ahead three spots! Also the people are extremely nice although they have an interesting number system as I suspect it takes them a while to make their offerings. First up I ordered onion rings since my mom finally got out of the hospital and was craving "real food." I'll go on the record stating the onion rings were probably in my top two in town. Freshly fried with REAL ONIONS and a semi-thick batter. First bite, if one survives the magma hot touch will be a huge crunch with a slight resistance from the onion itself. In thinking back, I should have ordered two servings as I didn't want to share. Alas I ate less than half because I'm trying to be a good son. Next, I finally got to try a butter burger or in this case a mushroom and Swiss burger. To be honest I thought they cooked the burger in butter rather than they lightly toast the top bun in butter. That seems a flimsy proclamation to hang your hat on but I digress. The burger was darn good, the meat tasted better than a fast-food joint and had a slight smash to it. The mushrooms were perfectly cooked and the Swiss! The cheese really brought the sandwich together. I dare say this is the best fast food burger I ever had, yes it was that good. As for dessert, I love concretes; I eat them anywhere I can find them. Culvers is probably last among the restaurants that offer them. Please note a concrete is basically a custard - think ice cream with egg yolks; it offers a thicker and richer experience - with a lot more calories. I got the cheesecake concrete with cherries. What I got was a little bit of cheesecake, no graham cracker crust and 6 whole cherries thrown on top. Moreover, it wasn't that thick, but thicker and tastier than any milkshake available from competitors. I'm a bit confused about my experience at Culvers, I was expecting a more decadent hamburger, one I thought would be seared in butter but what I got was equally good. The onion rings were phenomenal compared to subpar concrete offering. The people are nice and the speed is a bit slow, but perhaps that's warranted. After a few months if the hamburger and onion ring itch comes on, I'll be back but if I desire a concrete there's better options. Still, Culvers is a very good restaurant and I advise dropping on by to try for yourself.

I will say one thing. Their food is always good. I usually always get the chicken sandwich and Oreo mixer milkshake. Their pretzels are also good. I appreciate that they bring out the food to you like Chick Fil A to keep the line going but my only issue is almost every time I come here when I'm in the area something is always missing so I have to go back inside to get my missing items. Otherwise I really like the place.

I still come here at least once a month. We mostly order online and come pick it up. They have designated spots near the drive thru window for online orders. The kids meals are such a great deal and I just realized the other day that the kids bags have "tokens" on the side or a "free scoop" coupon (if you didn't want your custard with the meal). If you save up a certain amount of tokens, you can get swag of a free kids meal. I also tried the chocolate custard with Andes candies mixed in the other day and it was delicious. Will be back soon!!

This was my second visit to this Culver's. After being in IL last summer I experienced Culver's for the first time so when I returned home and discovered we now had one, I checked it out. The burger was amazing as always but the fries were ice cubes and the drive thru situation was nothing like the well oiled machine we had up in IL. Fast forward to today for visit number two here. Piping hot fries and another amazing burger. Bonus was the new signature sauce. It's like no other that you'll find at a restaurant of this kind. I actually had to read the ingredients because it has an amazing kick of heat but nothing to be afraid of. It looks like thousand island dressing but has none of the sweet characteristics. Keep up the great work Culver's!!!

I'm so happy they opened a Culver's closer to the house. I love Culver's. We already came to Culver's a lot before, but now it's more conveniently located right off of Ladson Rd. I love their concretes. So good. It's thick yummy ice cream type stuff that kind of reminds me of frozen yogurt. I'm not sure what it's made of but it's so good. You get two mix ins included, but you can add as many as you want extra for $.50 each. Today, I got a chocolate concrete with cheesecake bites, Oreo crumbles, and salted caramel. Those cheesecake bites are real freaking pieces of cheesecake. Amazing. As far as my dinner goes, I like the pot roast sandwich. This is a meal that I do not get to order at many other places because they do not have it on the menu. It is really good and it taste like it came from your mamas kitchen. I like to get pretzel bites on the side. Their pretzel bites are so good. They always give me more than 10 pretzel bites, which is a lot. And it always comes and cheese to dip it in. Overall, this place is amazing. If you haven't tried Culver's yet, and you live in Summerville, you obviously live under a rock in Summerville. This place is awesome and you should definitely try it soon.

We finally saw Culver's available on Ubereats so we seized the opportunity. I am taking into account that fried foods don't travel well. Hubby's Double Deluxe burger was satisfying. The cheese curds were Cheddar, which was surprising, and smallish in size. No squeak, but decent flavor. The pork sandwich was pretty big, and well-seasoned. The chicken strips were juicy and crisp. The fries were fine. Hubby's Dr.. Pepper tasted like it was mixed with Diet Dr. Pepper, which ruined it for him. The house brand root beer is delicious, The chocolate custard is rich and smooth,, luxurious I texture. Not bad for fast food.

Local bar with some really good burgers at a very fair price! Came here with the kids... "burger…read morepub" always gets them. They both had the Cheesy Burchy Burger and fries and I had the Deluxe Burchy Burger with onion rings. We split fried pickles and I had some hot wings. Server was friendly and food came out fast, which I appreciated because we were all pretty hungry. Fries were slightly underdone which is fine and needed salt but that was easy to fix with the shaker in the table. Burgers are a 1/4 lb smash style and were really good. Super crispy and tons of flavor. A+ on the burgers. Onion rings were fine, and I really liked my wings, crispy and the hot sauce was just right. We all agreed that the pickle chips were good. Kids liked their burgers as well. Note that the burger prices don't include a side, but $6 for a good burger is a Burger King or Wendy's price and for a local place, that's a great value. I'll take a Burchy Burger over a franchise mystery patty any day. J.Ja
