With a great street side location and plenty of parking, Culinary Dropout in West Midtown is an experience! We stopped in after a show at the fox and were so glad we did! We started with some apps - YUM! We had the pretzels, the wagu pigs in a blanket and the Tahini & Feta dip - FANTASTIC! The Tahini dip really surprised me, not just in appearance as the fall colors of the squash and apples covered the plate but the perfect seasoning and the grilled bread to go with...I was in heaven! After a bit we went ahead and ordered our meals - we were on the Brunch menu, so I had the banana nut bread french toast....this was some bougie French toast...and it was soooo good! The boys had wings that were recommended ... and the fried chicken & biscuit - to say that the chicken on both plates was devoured is an understatement- there wasn't even a pinch of meat I could try off the wings or a bite from the Chicken & Biscuit - it really was that good! Service was fantastic and everyone seemed to be genuinely happy to be at work and be serving guests - a plus while in the service business! Ambiance was modern and had indoor / outdoor seating and a nice bar. Great for happy hour or a bite out after a game or show. Restrooms were nice and spacious, clean and well maintained. Parking is validated for 2 hours ($10) savings! If you are in the neighborhood (GA Tech) or even if not - go give this place a try! we arrive on a friday night. it's not busy downstairs but the rooftop is busy upstairs. 1. the hostess downstairs can't tell us what the seating is like upstairs and outside, why not? so we go upstairs and they can tell us about seating and get us a table. but there's a sign outside saying "please see hostess downstairs for seating" okay... 2. to go upstairs you have to go back out, walk around and take the elevators. they have stairs but if you are handicapped etc, it's more work. then we get seated. we get our apps. they come out quick. around 815p we order a pizza and ribs. 9pm, we have to flag down the waitress to ask where our food is. she goes to check. then has 5 mins later (we saw her talking to the manager) the manager comes over and says the kitchen is soooo busy. the restaurant isn't even close to capacity. we want to cancel the order but "he doesn't want us to leave empty handed". 3. CLEARLY things got lost. they blamed it on the pizza. does pizza take 1 hr to make but the THIRTY SIX he ribs are ready. how busy can your kitchen be. 4. all the sudden the pizza is out hot and fresh. wow. the fries with the ribs are cold. they gave us a discount, i would have rather canceled like i had asked. you don't want us to leave empty handed bc now the food is going and you need to make money. if you didn't want us to leave empty handed you would have given us free pizza and ribs. i'm not into sweet talk. something is off here. won't be back. food is okay. the waitress was nice but not on top of it. read more

We went to Culinary Dropout on a rainy Saturday afternoon for a late lunch/early dinner. The ambiance is incredible, they did a great job making the modern space feel warm and inviting. We got Bloody Mary's and Mimosas for drinks. The Bloody was outstanding - fresh and actually tasted like fresh tomato. The service was a bit slow, we actually saw our drinks sitting at the bar for around 5 minutes before they got delivered to us. No fault on our waiter, he had the whole section, but they had plenty of staff that could've run the drinks. The food was outstanding. You would not believe they had only been open for a few days. We got the wings, PUB burger, Turkey pastrami, and the chopped salad. My salad was so flavorful, it was one of my favorite salads I've ever ordered. The barbecue ranch dressing was to die for. Overall the small service delays were minor, this place was great and I hope to try brunch there! read more

It is much larger than I expected, but they were staffed to accommodate the crowd which seemed to be near capacity on a Saturday night. Started off with the pork belly nachos and I don't normally order nachos anywhere if it's on the menu but these nachos were some of the best I've ever had. All ingredients were fresh. 10/10 will get it again for sure. I ordered the chicken sandwich (ended up getting they to go after one bite) and the steak frites. The steak and Brussels sprouts easily an 8.9 out of 10. The star is the show was absolutely the chicken sandwich with an amazing blends of seasoning n flavors. The Japanese milk bread was some of the best bread I've ever had on a sandwich and reminded me of Texas toast but better ..I'll give the sandwich a 9.7/10 and my overall experience a 9.8/10. My husband and I stopped by during our staycation and we give this establish a 9/10. The food was so good. The flavors were something to rave about we had the popcorn shrimp and that dipping sauce was a 10 by itself. The Brussels sprouts were cooked well and the sauce was a 10 as well. I had the shrimp fried rice as an entree and it tasted so good. Different but in a good way. My husband had fried chicken and he loved it and was able to substitute the coleslaw for asparagus. I visited Culinary Dropout for brunch and would visit again. It was a lovely day so I sat on the rooftop, but the restaurant has a lot of space indoors and out. It looks really nice. There was plentiful parking that is validated. I ordered the fried shrimp, buffalo wings, banana bread French toast, and the chocolate mud pie. I also had the Sicilian strawberry lemonade. The waitress and hostess I had were kind and professional. The fried shrimp was amazing. The buffalo wings weren't spicy -- I like mine with more of a kick, but they were still good. I also enjoyed the banana bread French toast .. I give it four stars. The lemonade was delicious and I appreciated the nonalcoholic options on the menu. Terrible, One star!! We arrived at 3:17 for a peaceful lunch after move in day. However, when we sat down we weren't seen for about 10-20 mins. Then when we placed our order it took about an hour and thirty minutes for them to bring it, and still we had to get up ourselves and ask someone who wasn't even our waitress to go and ask if they had forgotten us!!! Our waitress was no where to be seen after all of this. Before we asked (maybe 20 mins before) she came to our table and didn't say a single word about our food and filled our waters. The food was good, and but not worth the wait time. Also it was freezing the whole time, like a doctors office. The ambiance is great! Loved the ample outdoor seating which faced an internal courtyard shared by other restaurants and not a parking lot! The food is just so so. We ordered grilled asparagus from the charcuterie menu and don't think I've ever been served just the thick stalky part without any of the tasty green ends. Pass on this for sure! One of their signature dishes is fried chicken. Not sure why because it was marginal at best. The server was friendly and helpful in offering samples of micro brews to try before deciding on a full sized one. This might just be a nice place to hang out and drink after work but for my money, keep driving to Buckhead or Midtown. read more
