We have done takeout from Cucina 25 twice. Last night we went there and dined in for the first time. Everything has been terrific! Pizza, Heroes and entrees have all been delicious. Tried this restaurant/pizzeria because I read so many good reviews. The staff was really pleasant and the prices were good. The Pasta Fagioli Soup was very good and flavorful. Even took some home for the next day. As far as the entrees, the portions are big, but the food did not hit the mark for our group. We found the meat dishes swimming in sauces and the sauces were not the "dip your bread into" kind. They were thin and did not taste homemade. As I mentioned, the staff was really welcoming and I will try them again -- maybe for pizza. Could have been an off night. read more

I wanted the chicken saltimbocca with tech sauce instead of Marsala and it was great... my wife had the lobster raviolis not fresh but frozen but good. Portions are big.. wine reasonably priced . Cucina 25 was chosen on a whim because of the lack of exciting options in this area, plus they closed at 10pm. I was happy to see outdoor seats were full of guests even at my time of arrival, and inside as well. It's very charming inside! Lots of features that bring you to a place in Italy, just a nice dining atmosphere. And the servers were excellent as well, professional and not showing signs of aggravation that we came in late. Our food did take a little while than what I expected, and I suspect that the kitchen was trying to clean up and close while simultaneously preparing our meal. Our pasta dishes came with soup and salad and those alone took some time as well. But we at least had garlic knots and bread to munch on although by the time the entrees came out after we ate our salad and soup, we were both getting full. I placed a custom order of Alfredo, with Linguine and seafood at around $25 which ended up fantastic! The shrimp, calamari were perfectly soft however the mussels and clams weren't super fresh but not a big problem. The flavor was superb though the amount of Alfredo sauce caused me to think twice about calorie intake and finishing the whole plate. I ordered white wine, Reisling at $8 that had me wishing for a fuller glass. My friend ordered Angel Hair di Casa with chicken which turned out to be a sloppy, soupy, very sour, and unexciting meal for him. It seemed to have no flair or craft to it, just a thrown together dish with sauce poured over. There was so much watery sauce that the waitress spilled some as she served it, not a problem, it happens, but just pointing out. His soup was overly salty and the biscotti gelato he said had a sandy texture and did not want to finish. I liked it, it was sort of a gingerbread flavor and the texture was obviously from the hard biscotti. In the end, I left satisfied but my friend reminded me that Italian is simply not his preferred choice of food when choosing a place. read more

Excellent spot. Nothing fancy. Ate way too much. Pasta fagioli was excellent. Pepperoni pinwheel was second to none. My friend had lasagna and I had the "Godfather" panini (chicken cutlet, fresh mozz, sweet peppers and balsamic). One of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Finish it off with a cannoli and they almost had to go roll me out of the joint. On top the great food, our server was a wonderful lady. Great experience. 100% will be back. read more

I eat their all the time, salads with chicken is great. Pizza- I take out of staters here or brick oven pizza. Chicken parm is good, their rigatoni is mmm mmm mmm. They're desserts are delicious, kind staff, a little pricey but the portions are big. They've messed up an order a few times over the years but we've probably been there a few hundred times by now so the statistics are pretty good. They did give me old lettuce one time recently which I was pretty shocked about but have since enjoyed their salad once again. A hidden gem amount Main Street in Riverhead - I've driven this road for years and never really noticed it. I was here yesterday for the Riverhead Country Fair and had a chance to stop in for lunch. My husband and I both had pizza but there is an option for a sit down Italian meal as well. We shared a white slice, buffalo chicken, chicken bacon ranch, and a grandma. All of them were great! The grandma was the best I've had in a really long time. The white could use a little more garlic, but was still very good! This place doesn't skip a beat! They are always on point. They have an extensive selection of options in all of their categories. My personal favorite is their Greek Salad pizza which is a work of art and tastes so amazing! They very finely chop all of the ingredients which just makes the experience absolute perfection. I'm picky about how I like my salad and after tasting theirs I realized they are too! (Takes one to know one) No direction needed, they share in the same obsession of chopping the ingredients properly. The salty feta cheese is complemented by the sweet tomatoes and savory crust.. omg ! Just delightful... Very friendly service and fastest delivery in town. First off, I can not remember the last time I wrote a review so I hope this is the place. I love to extend my gratitude in person to the staff when I go out with my family . My Husband and girls went out tonight 8/21 after a long day out east and I never had such great service than I had by Alexis. Living out east on Long Island my whole life comes with a lot of fine dining experience, and I was incredibly impressed to say the least! This young lady was so sweet and on top of absolutely everything, we did not have to wait for a thing and Drinks were filled without an ask .My girls talked with her alot throughout our dinner and she came off so humble and genuine. The restaurant was not very busy at all as it was a little late for dinner time but the food came out amazing as well. Everything from our appetizers, small side Salads, and dinners were so great. The decor inside was interesting to look at as well. Alot of yankees inspired decor which our family loved! If I could leave no stars I would... I'm disappointed that this is my first review and it's not a good one. My husband and I came in this past Sunday and we spotted a COCKROACH!! My husband got a good look at it because it sat beside one of the tables, and confirmed it was in fact a cockroach and my eyes were not playing tricks. When I brought it to the attention of the staff, I was told that they were aware of it. AWARE?! They should be CLOSED for extermination! I will never come back here and I have already contacted the Department of Health in regards to this. Such a shame. read more

I came here the other night with my sister, Mom, and her friends, due to the fact that every other restaurant in the neighborhood was closed (thanks.) This was actually a blessing in disguise though, because this place is a hidden gem!! This is an authentic Italian restaurant that serves amazing food and ridiculous size portions. We ordered some calamari, which was damn good! I especially loved the fried banana peppers that was mixed inside, I could eat those by themselves. They also give you free bread (both regular bread and free garlic knots!! Something you won't get in New York) That bread was so softens filling, and it came with the sun-dried tomato sauce (delish). My mom and sister ordered their pasta which was so good, they were extremely creamy and the chicken was fresh and to die for. On the other hand I ordered the chicken Parmesan sandwich, which was slightly disappointing because the bread was way too soft for my liking, which kind of made it hard to enjoy the cutlet because everything tasted rather mushy. So if I got that next time I would ask them to make sure to toast the bread first and then put the chicken on top, but they sure gave you a lot of cheese! Not that I'm complaining about that.... Also our waiter, Phil was really nice and attentive! I wish this place were closer to the City though, because I would definitely come here a lot. Will definitely come here again one day! read more

Cucina 25 saved my birthday! On Saturday, August 7th, a group of six of us drove out from Nassau and Western Suffolk to a fancy schmancy waterfront restaurant in Greenport for my birthday. Once we arrived, the hostess and manager both claimed they couldn't find my reservation anywhere in the system, and denied any responsibility by claiming I must have made an error and called another restaurant instead. They eventually sat us after a friend begged and cajoled them to not ruin my birthday; however, after 45 minutes of sitting at the table without being acknowledged or brought any water or bread, we started calling around to other establishments to find another option. Already past 8pm on a summer Saturday night in Greenport, and nothing available locally to be found, we broadened our options to anything on the NoFo or headed westward. That was when a friend of mine in the group remembered Cucina 25, which he had eaten at a while back while visiting a friend in Riverhead. We called up, and they said that they could absolutely accommodate us (even though we would be arriving around 9pm from Greenport, and they close at 10pm). Once we got there, it was smooth sailing! They 100% redeemed my birthday. Donna, Bella, and Cassie were all angels, so sweet and giving us such personable service. They were so sympathetic to us when my friend filled them in on how we were treated at the Greenport place, and wanted to make the dinner as special as possible. Everyone in the group loved the food! We had the rice balls for an app, and everyone ordered pasta entrees. Portions were very generous and they boiled up a fresh batch of gluten free penne for my entree. All our entrees came with a garden or Caesar salad. After we ate, we ordered a cannoli, tiramisu, and a slice of chocolate cake to share for dessert. They stuck in a few candles, so my friends could serenade me for my day. They never tried to rush us or kick us out or even hint that we should hurry up. By the time we left, we realized it was about an hour or so after their official closing time, and yet they had never said a word to us or pressured us at all. Everyone we met there was extremely warm, genuine and professional, and the food was amazing! Can't thank you guys enough for how well you treated us. Your kindness and hospitality meant the world to me. I will definitely be back soon!!! read more

As a company- we've ordered from this place a couple of times. The pizza, everything we ordered was always so good, and the delivery time was also on point. Came in tonight for the first time and I have to say, I've been to Italian places all around this area, and the service, food, everything was so nice and so good!!! No, I don't know the owner or anyone that works here for the record... a really nice quaint pleasant place to have a good meal, reasonably priced with outstanding service.
