We decided to go to dinner on an impulse Friday night. We didn't make reservations. Fortunately they graciously accommodated us at the bar. They were very busy and had a large wedding party coming in. It took a bit for our food, but it was well worth the wait. I was driving thru Graeagle and had heard great things about this restaurant. I asked for a table without a reservation on a Saturday afternoon, and though there were 3 parties on the restaurant, they had to "work to find" a table for me. It is surprising how unwelcome a hostess and your waiter can make you feel. Even with a mostly empty restaurant, it took 30 minutes for them to prepare my Linguini, and it is hard to understand how a pesto sauce can be extremely salty and lack any flavor at the same time. I hope your experience is better than mine, but I will not be a repeat customer. read more

I just returned from having an excellent Tuesday evening dinner at Cuccia's. The entire dinner was five star. My butternut squash ravioli was superb and my companion's veal saltinbocca was fabulous. Tasty deserts topped top the meal.Then the stellar view from the outdoor deck combined with the fine wine list made the whole experience memorable. Always an amazing dining experience. I have yet to sample a dish that isn't absolutely delicious. We visit from Southern California a couple times a year and it's understood that we have to eat here at least once during our stay. There's always a wait so make sure you get there early! read more

Wow. Ordered Gold Lakes special pizza and salad for 2. Looked forward to local, no meat, pizza. Takeout to be Covid safe. Busy restaurant with outside and inside diners. Looked great inside; no masks except staff, no ventilation, friendly folks dining and at bar. Happy, busy staff, parking was close to full. Pizza brought to me on deck, with salad, bread, oil. Nice. Came to our house and opened nice warm box to discover ham, pepperoni and sausage pizza. No way I'm driving back. Spent fun time dreaming about folks who got our no meat pizza on a Thursday evening in Graeagle. read more

We went last night and was told we had an hour and fifteen minutes to eat. No problem we said. Sat down great atmosphere. Waitress was awful. We ordered a pizza and she said she would have to see if they could make it.... pizza came out much faster than expected except my appetizer was forgotten. A-15 super yummy. Cuccia's has become my local favorite. It's really great to see this restaurant thrive. Gina's pizza's are the best in Mohawk Valley; I would go to no other place in the area. We stopped in on Friday evening and enjoyed dinner out in the covered patio. I had the Salmon dish and it was perfectly prepared. Gina's wine list is also perhaps one of the best lists in all of Plumas County and perhaps in the Sierra's. Great choices at very reasonable prices, wines personally selected by Gina herself. Kinda pricey and expected much more. I had the prawn scampi over linguini and the noodles were overcooked to the point of mushy. Poor service - had to ask twice for water refill. Could hardly believe it when after asking for a 2nd glass of wine, red this time, waitress attempted to pour the single glass carafe into the old white wine glass. We had to stop her...amazing. WOW! We found this Gem back in March and we were so happy, the food was excellent and service was exceptional. Than we returned this past week and it was the complete opposite. We called in a reservation and thank goodness we were seated outside because everyone inside was walking around including some of the staff MASK FREE. The place was PACKED people were stacked up like firewood inside! Indoor and outdoor were full and couldn't fit another person. A waitress came out and took our drink order. Drinks were served. Order was taken and bread was brought out. Place started to slow down and tables indoor were starting to go empty. An hour and a half later our Salads and Soups came out. Finally after no service Drinks were reordered and they forgot half of them upon return. We had to remind them about the forgotten drinks. The owner is standing behind the bar mask free drinking wine talking to patrons at the bar who were served there dinner before us and they were seated about 45 min after us. Than something weird happened. I noticed people leaving without having dinner. Place was definitely getting quiet. Kitchen staff must have quit because no food was coming out for anyone. Owner disappears and the poor busser comes out and says are you guys ok would you like more bread and offers us water. 2 hours and 30 minutes later our SLOP was personally carried out by the owner. Medium steak was charcoal, Caesar salad was hot, pizza was raw dough, chicken was like a microwaveable dinner at best. Shrimp was drowned in some mystery disaster. Food was the worst I had ever seen from a restaurant. Service was horrible except for the busser. The forgotten table will never forget the Alpo that was served from Cuccias. read more

We came back here for a delightful lunch and had pizza and a steak salad. Both were excellent. Service was less rushed this time and we got to chat a bit with the owner. The menu is shorter for lunch (with just salads, pizza, and dessert) and it suits the afternoon crowd well. We had beers that were served very COLD in frosted mugs. Nice to find a good place to eat in this area. Everything was great but the service was really slow. It took 25 minutes to get our salads and another 30 minutes for the main course. But all the food was awesome. I posted some pictures and the food is as good as it looks. Enjoy. read more

We had a 7:00 PM Wednesday reservation, arrived a couple minutes early, and got seated immediately despite the place being packed. Clearly reservations are crucial. The food was good, though not great. The ambience was (we reserved an outside table), and the service was flat-out fabulous. The parents and I had the distinct pleasure of being the 3rd party Cuccia's served on their first day of lunch service. It was a pleasant day so we chose to sit out on the enclosed patio. Great choice! The fresh air and cute little curtains and twinkle lights made for a great outdoor ambiance. Service was a bit scattered and slow, but what can you really expect on their first day of lunch service? We ordered a meatball salad (yes, you read that correctly), a grilled ham & cheese sandwich, and a grilled portobello mushroom sandwich. Everything was just a-ok. The sandwich rolls clearly came from the grocery store as did the ham on my dad's sandwich. I loved the artichoke pesto on my sandwich, but that was pretty much the highest point. The ambiance is definitely nicer than most places in the area but I can't say I'll find myself racing to come back when the next family vacation rolls around. read more

I'm giving them 5 because I can't think of one reason why not to. The staff was welcoming and accommodating. We arrived on a busy night w/o reservations. They found a place for us. The service was great. The good was imaginative and freshly prepared and not over salted. I had the salmon filet and the spinach salad, my husband had the chicken scallopini and the Caesar. I could taste the food it wasn't masked with unnecessary sweetness or sauce or cheese. The bread was freshly baked and the dipping oil was delicious. Second year in a row we ate a beautiful meal at Cuccia's. We got a wonderful pizza on Saturday night an then made reservations for Tuesday night on the patio. All in our party were impressed with menu choices of wines, salads an pasta entrees. Would highly recommend going to Cuccina's if you are any where near the Graeagle area in the summer for dinner. Extremely disappointing, this was my third and last visit. Each time I've gone I've been rudely greeted and harshly asked if I have reservations. Be sure you do have reservations or you could be subjected to some looks of shame. I nearly left when offered the high table in the corner of the bar area, but am glad I stayed; it solidified my decision to make this my last visit. The owner was present and working and her nasty mood was felt throughout the entire restaurant. I'd rather be greeted by a monster. Her attitude was as though she was angry that people were patronizing her place of business. She was not warm or welcoming and I never saw her crack a smile. The food was mediocre. Fortunately our server was an extremely pleasant young lady (working hard despite being very pregnant) and I'd highly recommend the owner take manner lessons from our server. This is probably the best place to go to dinner in the Graeagle area. We always enjoy it the one time of year we go there. We always sit outside in the patio, because it's much more enjoyable than being inside. This year, I was disappointed; not by the food but by the staff. They got our order wrong several times, but they made up for their mistakes by fixing them. My family and I understood, it was a busy Sunday night. What I thought was not okay at all was the hostess and/or manager's attitude toward my party. We were finishing our dessert, and I could tell she kept looking our way as if checking if we were almost done. Finally, she came over to our table to give us the check. We were looking over it, found they hadn't charged us for an item, let her know that, and she said it was on the house. We all got a feeling she did this to get us out ASAP. The waitress came, took the check then brought it back. We were in the process of filling out the receipt, when the manager returned again and told us, "I have a group waiting..." She then proceeded to explain how her morning staff had overbooked the patio area and that's why it was too crowded, etc. We got up and were walking out when we overheard her telling the waiting group, "Your table is almost ready, it's being cleaned up. The party before you was being too chatty." I didn't say anything to her because I don't like conflict. My family and I felt like this was rude to say about other customers and to lie to the waiting group. We were literally only there for ONE HOUR & FIFTEEN MINUTES. We were certainly not there to chat it up but more so to enjoy the food, which is delicious. In the future, I hope staff can be better at booking the patio AND/OR the hostess/manager is better at doing her job and not lying to her customers. She basically kicked us out. read more

Being gluten-free can be challenging, especially when visiting small towns. After hearing about Cuccia's for years, I finally stopped by and it was amazing! Our waitress was well-versed on gluten-free choices and my meal was fantastic. The wine selection and prices can't be beat and I am anxious to visit again. I have mixed feelings about this place. Let's start with the good. The building is super cute and the interior is well done. They have a small dining area outside that is surrounded by a screen, so you avoid the bugs in the evening! The pizza is also great. I love the sourdough crust. They have a decent wine selection for such a small place, with a good variety. Now time for the not so great... Sadly, the food (besides the pizza) was a bit lacking. Everything I've gotten has been... wet. Almost like it was previously frozen, then heated up and served. I will return for a pizza, some wine, and the quaint atmosphere, but will probably avoid the dinner menu selections. read more
