This might be the best pizza I've had! Spent the weekend in Portola and got mountain pizza. We had a Margherita pizza and a Buffalo chicken, along with some chicken wings. The pizza was sooooooo delicious. Great amount of toppings. Flavor was perfect on both. And the dough was so so soft. I am tempted to come back to portola just for the pizza! read more

We opted for a pizza night while camping and were happy to find something open on a Monday. The decor is cute. The portions were generous. We had a pepperoni and margarita pizza plus garlic parm wings. The pizza is thin crust which my companions liked quite a bit. We stopped by when driving to Graeagle for a weekend of camping. We chose this as our dinner spot based on some other great Yelp reviews I had read. Our experience lived up to the hype! It looks like a hole-in-the-wall pizza place when you walk in. They have the classic checkered red and white tablecloths and picnic table style seating. It's small on the inside with only a few tables, but we still snagged a spot on a Friday night. We got the fried ravioli as an appetizer which was way better than we expected. Instead of a small amount of cheese inside, each ravioli was full of cheese that was hot and creamy. It was served with marinara and we loved them! We went with a large Beckwourth Steak Pizza which came with beef, peppers, onions, mushrooms, white sauce, and mozzarella. I don't usually order white sauce pizzas but I'm so glad I did this time because this was excellent! The white sauce plus mozzarella combo delicious. I liked how the beef was shaved and in small pieces, making it easy to chew and it blended in well with the rest of the toppings. My first time here today. Arrived at 12 noon and nobody in the dining room. It looks like they do more Togo business. It's 12:40 and one couple just arrived. Pizza was great. Super happy with our stop. We haven't camped in a long time and decided this trip we would not cook at camp. I know, not real camping but mama wanted a break. Happy to confirm all the reviews were correct. Great little clean place. Service with a smile. We had the Hawaiian, Clio gluten free, buffalo wings, mozzarella sticks and pork belly fries. Stopped in to meet a friend for lunch and was presently surprised. Who knew there was good pie in Portola, CA? We had the Tiger pizza and pork bell fries that were deadly. The pizza was good but not my style, and the fries were amazing. Superb pizza. If anyone is passing thru Portola and needs a warm place to stop in the winter, Mountain Pizza is the place. Stopped here on Dec 29th, 2024 at 11-ish am and had the BBQ chicken 16- incher. Everything is great - the tables, the atmosphere, the service, the food!! This place is amazing! With very few options in town, Mountain pizza sets the standard high. The boneless wings and breaded cauliflower are super yummy, and the pizza is out of this world. Our favorite is the barbecue chicken, but the tiger (tikka masala) is also delish and go for the Buffalo if you like something spicy! Service is good and the owners are super nice. Very family friendly, and the prices are super reasonable. Highly recommend! read more

We came to Portola for a quick impromptu golf getaway. We arrived late in the evening and need a quick bite and concluded that pizza was the best option for us. So I went strait to my trusty Yelp app and found Pizza Factory and Mountain Pizza. My first choice was Mountain Pizza, but due to the boyfriend thinking I said "Mountain Mike's Pizza" he picked Pizza Factory. After a very disappointing failed attempt at Pizza Factory (rude service), we headed to Mountain Pizza. It was then the boyfriend realized it wasn't Mountain Mike's Pizza (that's not a knock on them either. We like Mountain Mike's.) Upon our arrival, the service was great from beginning to end. The server was kind and attentive. She was pretty busy, but she handled the situation professionally. For as busy as they were, we had about a 40-minute wait. We ordered a couple of beers to pass the time. Another employee (might be the owner) came out and greeted us and chatted with us for a bit. He was friendly and very welcoming too. I really enjoyed the interaction with the staff there. We ordered for take out. We had naked chicken wings with sweet chili sauce on the side, Hawaiian Pizza with jalapenos and Pork Belly Fries. The food was good. Chicken wings were as expected, pizza was yummy, and the fries were tasty but a bit to saucy for my liking, but If i were to to order it again I'd ask for light bbq sauce and add jalapenos to it. We're planning another visit soon and I would recommend Mountain Pizza to anyone. 5 stars for the customer service and atmosphere. 4 stars for the food. read more

Gluten free pizza was delicious. I called to make sure they had gluten free crust and I said I was headed that way. By the time we arrived, there was a sign on the door that said they would be closing in half an hour for several days. Apparently they had a refrigeration issue but they were kind enough to make our pizza before they closed and it was really good. read more

I split the smoked Gouda pizza and the green goddess pizza with my dad's best friend's wife; we both really liked both flavors. I think the smoked Gouda pizza might have been one of the best bites of pizza I ever had. My dad's best friend got the clam chowder with a huge side salad as well. Service was friendly and attentive. There wasn't plenty of parking for us; but we did pass by the restaurant a lot during our week up at Almanor and the restaurant really really gets packed (which is great for business, just parking can be a little tough later in the evenings).

Some of the best customer service I've ever experienced, along with delicious pizza! The fries were crisp to the ideal texture, the mozzarella sticks were wonderful, and the Buffalo wings were savory. For a vegan option, we also ordered a veggie pizza sans cheese and a Hawaiian pizza with jalapeños. The sauce had great flavor and the pizza crust was the ideal thickness. Awesome pizza! We had pepperoni, the Beckwourth which is like a pizza version of a Philly cheesesteak, and the chicken wing pizza all were great! We also had the spicy cauliflower which was to die for! New local favorite for sure, especially when they get beer and wine! read more
