There was a long line for Amazon returns while other clerks weren't busy. It would be nice if they pitched in to help. Its always this way here.

Every UPS store I dealt with in the past for Amazon returns seemed to have the process down: scan the code, package if need to, put some tape, issue receipt. Easy in and out with minimal wait for the most part. As soon as I saw what Vacaville Staples has come down to nowadays, I knew this wouldn't be a similar experience. The space is now split in 2, with the larger part belonging to Dollar Tree. What's left of Staples is small, but somehow still disorganized store. At least there are signs where the Amazon returns are handled, so i walked straight past the registers to reach one unhappy employee dealing with a line of about 5 customers, herself surrounded by multiple boxes. Like a robot, she would ask everyone the same question in an annoyed voice: "how many items?". Once she would scan the code, her body language doesn't even try to hide how much she hates doing this. In between sighs and heavy breathing, I felt like leaving before it was even my turn. Just being in the same space made me feel uncomfortable, like I was doing something wrong. Just as I reached the counter, this Staples employee starts rummaging through boxes and said it will be couple of minutes. Yes, there are still about 4-5 people behind me waiting and the only employee that is handling the returns is moving items to different boxes. Let that register. Once she was finished; same robotic question. She then printed out the sticker, slapped it on the item, and threw it into the box. Finally, asks "any questions?". Hell no, I just want to get out of here. It's a true shame that Amazon is letting Staples handle their returns and that Staples does not care about at least some basic customer service. I'm not sure where this employee's frustration comes from, but taking it out on customers surely will not help her cause. Two stars just because the return showed up as accepted in my Amazon account, but I surely hope I never have to come back here.

It was downhill from there. When I uploaded my artwork to the FedEx site, it looked like the art would be cut off, even though I had sized it exactly with no bleed. I called the store and they said not to worry because they would use the art I'd emailed while at the store. They only referred me to the online store so I could get the great price. A few hours later, they called to say the job was ready. I went back to the store and the job they had for me was not my job. Oops! Mine would be ready the next day. I never got a call saying my job was ready, but when I called them, they said it was. So off I go to the FedEx store again. The job was ready, but only half the quantity I ordered. They said they'd have them in 45 minutes, but I decided to go home and pick them up the next day. When I came to pick them up, the were not ready! They'd had a power outage last night, so they said. (But they were supposed to be done yesterday afternoon!) So I'm standing here at the counter writing this review while they do the job as I wait. Then, they're trimmed wrong, but I let them off the hook and just had them trim them a little more. It's been an adventure! The quality of the printing is okay, and they refunded me the cost of the cards that got trimmed wrong.

I bought one that was compatible with the Samsung Galaxy S24 and after purchase they offered to replace my old protector with the new one I bought. Turns out I actually needed one for the Galaxy S24 FE version which was my mistake. When staff searched for the one that I needed, they could not find one in stock. ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE: NEVER TRUST GEEK SQUAD WITH IPHONE REPAIRS…read more Even though they are an authorized Apple service provider, dealing with the Geek Squad at this Vacaville location for an iPhone warranty repair has been an incredibly frustrating, incompetent mess from start to finish. I dropped my phone off on 8/16. I had already completed all advanced troubleshooting myself (restore and DFU mode) to fix a boot loop unsuccessfully. The Geek Squad agent, Abraham, couldn't get it to work either, so he determined the device needed to be shipped to an Apple service center. He did warn me that the turnaround would be 3-5 business days and that all my data would be wiped. If I could do it all over again, I would have walked out right then and gone straight to an official Apple Store. Why? For starters, Geek Squad does absolutely nothing except act as a useless middleman to ship your phone away. Unlike an actual Apple Store, Best Buy doesn't provide a loaner device, which left me digitally stranded without a phone for a full 10 days. Had I known they were just going to mail it out and let it drag on, I would have handled the shipping to the service center myself to avoid this massive delay and inconvenience. Instead of the promised 3-5 business days, the process took a full 10 days. According to official carrier tracking, the repaired phone was physically delivered back to the store and signed for by a Best Buy employee named Roman on 8/24 at 10:29 AM. Yet, when I went to the store two days later, they claimed they didn't have it. They tried to give me the runaround, making up nonsense excuses about needing to call Apple and have them provide a "new serial number". After I spent hours trying to call the store (Best Buy does not route any of the calls to the actual store), and escalated the issue to Apple Support to demand accountability, the store finally called me back with an excuse claiming the phone was "misdelivered to the PetSmart next door." Absolute BS. A courier doesn't drop off a secure, signature-required Apple service shipment at a pet store. They clearly just misplaced it in their own house and lied to cover up their internal tracking mess. To top it off, Apple swapped out the logic board, so my data is completely gone. At least that is one thing I can't blame the store for, but definetly some poopy icing on an already decaying cake. Geek Squad's internal logistics are a total joke, their communication is nonexistent, and their customer service is built entirely on excuses. Save yourself the massive headache and go straight to an actual Apple Store or handle the mail-in process yourself directly. Best Buy repairs plain suck, and I am staying away from Geek Squad for good.

While we were checking out, Dawn was getting ready to put out a few more squishies. She took the time to show my son each one she was tagging before putting them on the shelf. She absolutely didn't have to do that--she could have just walked by--but that small act of kindness meant so much! The NeeDoh and squishy craze is real and I don't think employees get enough appreciation for dealing with the constant demand. Dawn's patience and kindness made my son's day. He was so excited to add a few new squishies to his collection! Thank you, Dawn, for taking those extra few minutes to make my son's day. And thank you from my daughter too, who somehow always ends up stealing her big brother's squishies no matter which one we buy just for her!

The selection of cards for Father's Day was pretty depleted but that makes sense the day before the holiday. I managed to find a couple and the cutest shawl. Usually the service is pretty good. However on this visit Lisa was my cashier and gave me attitude after I politely asked her not to grab my phone. I held up my phone (with the screen towards her) so she could scan the clearly visible bar code for the use of my birthday coupon. She grabbed my phone. After I said something she said, "well make the bar code larger!" with MUCH attitude. I told her to ask me too - not just take my phone. She was intent on arguing, and added she has taken others' phones, and no one had a problem. I was floored! I have been there too many times to count and never had anyone take my phone (instead of using their hand scanner). Nor have I ever received such attitude. She made what started out as a great experience shopping for others to one tainted by her attitude and unprofessionalism.
