Today, 12/15/2025, I was physically standing in front of your CubeSmart location (42816 Osgood Rd, Fremont CA 94539) during posted office hours (open until 6:00 PM), yet the office was closed and no staff were present. I waited for over an hour with no explanation or signage. When I called the phone number, I was routed to remote customer service. I had to repeat the same information multiple times, that I am in front of the building, I have an appt for today, it's within business hours and there's no sign to say ' will be back or anything', hence doors locked and no one is there to help. My phone call was transferred second time without any communication, and eventually the call just rang and disconnected. This experience alone tells me this is not the right place to trust with my belongings. Poor communication, misleading office hours, and zero accountability. I strongly recommend others read reviews carefully before choosing this storage facility. I had to also report this conduct and service to 'FindStorageFast' site who text to follow up with me on my search. DO NOT RECOMMEND to business where staff are incompetent. read more

Stay away from this place!! My dad's storage was broken into and the lock was changed to something totally different. Supposedly the manager or the guy by the name Keith changed the lock because he noticed the lock was missing. He didn't notify us of it. Finding out several valuable items were stolen and seemed as though they planned to come back as they had left a bag of things from my dad storage that was left behind. We called the police and are currently investigating. The guy Keith didn't even wanna cooperate and or offer to help with the situation. This place is sketchy asf! read more

Update here. Since moving into the unit in 2019, we've had 1 attempted break-in, and one successful one. Both times we were contacted by management, but the lack of security is very alarming. Additionally, we discovered our unit had been infested with rodents. We immediately told the front desk. The suggestion from the person we spoke with was to take what was salvageable, move out, and call the insurance company. From our knowledge, no one even came to investigate, or try and fix the issue. All this, in addition to our rent increases we seem to get at least every year, it's time to go. read more

It was not Cubesmart when I first rented an unit here, and my experience with that company (which I no longer recall) was 5 stars positive. Since then I have moved out of California, but still maintained the unit here. All was fine for years, with auto payment and such, and I never heard from them. Then it was bought out by Cubesmart, a national storage rental company, and that is when my experience soured with the service and annual price hikes. So my first interaction with Cubesmart is being notified by my sister that my storage unit is past due and upon calling the number she gave me, I was informed that I had to pay a hefty late fee on top of the monthly rent. At that time I have no clue who Cubesmart was, but the street address matched the storage unit I setup before moving to Nevada. Since I was not physically in California, the person I spoke to allowed me to make the credit card payment over the phone. But they would not just take the card info and setup the auto payment on my account. Pretty sure it was some corporate policy that prevented that request. Anyway, fast forward a few years, and monthly reminder calls, at which time I would just make the payment over the phone, to this month. When no call, no letter, and a lady with an attitude that I had to speak to, that help me made up my mind that I will take a few days off and clear out that storage unit, so I never have to deal with them again after that. Thanks for the annual rent increase, no communications, and the recent unpleasant phone exchanges. Will definitely not recommend this national company for anyone living near Fremont looking to rent storage unit temporarily or long term. Service level really varies depending on who is working. Some were pleasant and fair to interact with, and others I have learn is lazy and could really careless what you think of their customer service skills. Storage unit companies are a dime a dozen, for the most part, the mom and pop small time operators, from my personal experiences, have been better at customer service and looking out for their clients compared to the national operations that employs random people that are there to collect a paycheck, which in Silicon Valley, are probably not the best candidates from all available job applicants in the area.. read more

I took that storage few month ago. Tonight, Sunday, I return for the first time to that place around 18:30. In front of the gate, I couldn't remember the code to enter. Luckily the manager (KJ Foster) was inside! I knock on the door and he just show me the office hours and that he was closed ??? I am trying to explain my little problem through the closed door to which he replied still through a closed door that HE WAS CLOSED! I told him that it was something with my phone #... He told me that I had that code when signing so he would not help me further!!! This guy is supposed to be a general manager, really? He should not even be a basic customer service rep. since he was so rude! His place also lack cleanliness and maintenance as on my first Day, the exit doors would not open, then they did not replace the corridor lights in section B since my first move-in. I rented a couple units here for about 5+ years. Originally, we rented the biggest storage unit, had a great experience with that unit. I didn't have any issues, there was always someone on site, I felt safe when we would come and get stuff from that unit. When we downsized a couple years ago, to the smaller unit, it wasn't a great experience. Within 2 years, my unit was broken into. Sadly, I wasn't even notified, which means, whoever was working here, wasn't doing rounds, checking upstairs, downstairs, or any of the units for that matter. Whoever broke into the unit obviously wasn't happy with what we had stored, so they didn't take anything, but the simple fact a door wide opened, for gosh knows how long, should've been found and we should've been notified (obviously we weren't since again, we noticed the break in!) Another downside, the rental increases! They happen so often! You'll get a card in the mail, saying how your unit has gone up another XXXX amount of dollars! It's crazy how we can have that many increases, with less responsibility from the staff here! Now, I will say, the new person working here, is trying hard to make everyone happy. She's having to fix prior issues, lack of staff that was supposed to be on site during covid (that wasn't) and trying to make the place run smooth, to which, I say, "Thank you!" It's just gonna be hard to fix a lot of stuff that people have experienced over these last few years! read more

Monthly rent will be raised every six months or every year. My rent was started with $65 in 2019 changed to $114 now. My unit was broken in and some toolbox and a few valuable stuffs was stolen. The storage said they have no responsibility, and I should claim it to my insurance. Disappointed and moved out. read more

I recently went and got a storage unit with them everything went good at the start but a weekend to having a unit with them they accused me of defecating their unit. They have no evidence they assume that it was me because I am the newest tenant there they said they have video I asked them if I could see it but they they declined to show me ... They terminated lease with them all they do is racial profiling and steal your money do not go there they're elevator feels like it's about to break when going up. Amazing office staff, very helpful for both billing and on-site issues. Management proactively notifies of any account changes or imminent late charges. Carts provided, building well ventilated, no issues with leaks or pests. Havent rented one here, but went to check one few days ago...The cubicles are around 1 feet smaller in width then the size listed ..On asking them why so...I was told that measurements were done before the walls were laid and studs constructed....thus 1 feet smaller in width and some in length too... I asked them for discount because unit is small, was told will get $2 off for 1st month only.. Wow..Kind of stupid in my opinion and waste of my time visiting the place to find units sizes much smaller then comparable ones at other storage and the silly discount they offer...Glad I got a twice bigger one at another storage for the same price pretty closeby read more
