We came by one night and accidentally shut the door but did not actually lock the unit. We got a call the next day saying the unit was unsecured so we could come by and fix it. I appreciate that level of security and service. Sometimes there is a wait in the office since there's normally only one person, but again, were so friendly! I would come check this place out if you are looking for a storage unit in the area.

My contract says the next payment would be the agreed upon rate due on April 1st. On April 1st I noticed I was charged $34 more than my contracted rate. When I called management Ronnie (new property Mngr) stated that there was a new price increase!! This is unfair and frankly illegal as my contract states that tenant must be given 30 days notice before any changes in price. Is this a sudden COVID-19 price increase??

I called this them and told them I am being overcharged and a lady picked up and told me I'd have to call uhaul's 800 number. Makes no sense to report it to uhaul when you are the one I am having the dispute with. I called uhaul. Uhaul is saying that storage 290 was claiming I returned the gas tank on 1/4 but received it almost full. That is literally impossible as I used 90 miles and the odometer shows that. But they're claiming I used that much gas. The uhual lady confirmed their vehicle is about 15 mpg; which adds up to exactly how much gas I put back in the vehicle. I told the lady, how can I use about 150 miles worth of gas in 90 miles? Even when I filled the tank, it wasn't even half way. The uhaul customer agent saw what I was saying made sense. Take a guess what uhaul did? You guessed it; they called 290 storage. The exact same thing I was trying to do in the 1st place. She got off the phone with storage 290 and said the lady kept saying she double checks everything. That doesn't answer the question as to how the odometer shows I used 90 miles but the gas their claiming was used is about 150 miles.So uhaul is now transferring this to their district manager to investigate. I will update my status. Long story short... don' use this place. They tried to overcharge me $56. I will report them to the BBB if I don't hear back soon. Update: Literally, 30 minutes after this review was posted, the owner emailed me and told me she would look into my concerns. About 15 minutes after I got that email, a district manager got a hold of me and did refund me the $56. In talking with him , he did admit that based on the miles I drove the needle shouldn't have moved more than 1/4. I am changing my rating from a 1 star to a 3 star. I can't give it higher than a 3 star based on what occurred but I will give credit to the owner. She was swift in responding and very professional to me and uhaul did correct the mistake.

I have been a customer for 20+ years and loved the facility until it was bought a few years ago. I…read morerented 2 units at one time and have paid alot of money to this facility. Not sure who the new owners are but the woman that runs this facility needs lessons in customer service. I have had a few issues with her but the most recent was Feb 2024. I had fraud on my bank account and my bank froze my account. They reopened a new account and wrote a letter to my creditors so that I would not be held accountable for late fees and such. I called A1 mini storage to advise of my issue and the gentleman that I spoke with advised to send a check when I got my new ones in and to send the letter as well. Which is what I did. The woman at the facility called me and asked about the payment and I advised that I had just sent it in along with the letter. I advised what the gentleman had said, she started raising her voice and advised this was not her problem, that I needed to pay the $25 late fee. I told her that in all my years I had never experienced the lack of customer service that I have from her. She just started yelling. I really think she has a mental problem because I didn't see a reason for her to carry on the way she was. She was screaming at me and I couldn't say a word so I hung up on her. The times before I just assumed she was having a bad day but this is not an excuse. Needless to say I paid the late fee and am NO longer a customer. I will never advise for anyone to rent from these folks and I hope that many more will go elsewhere. Too many rental facilities in the same area to be treated this way. Many people I know have a unit or should I say had a unit over at the cockrum location and they…read morehave the worst manager they have ever had right now I believe her name is alyssa she is rude to you lies to you and calls the police to harass tenants the first day that I found out about her she must have violate so many company policies if they have them just because this young man wouldnt flirt back with her while she was obviously throwing herself at any young man that was near by. Also every tenant that ive ever known of to have a unit here has been robbed not once or twice but several times and never said anything to them because after the first time that they do nothing and the second time that they do less why bother reporting anything. The cameras dont work and neither does the automatic gate thats always automatically open all day and night so anyone could just walk right up and cut your lock and get whatever they want and nothing will ever happen. When my unit was robbed the manager told me oh well call your insurance company have a good day and hung up on me. Thats some outstanding customer service right there at least now they require you to have insurance when you rent a unit. Great job guys keep up the good work make sure all tue local criminals stay in business!! Oh and dont forget to harrass the paying tennants and evict them for helping do your job.
