Amazing Cuban! And just right across the street from the riverfront. We had some Cuban coffee and even a mojito. Staff was super friendly. Not sure what else was on the menu because I came in for the Cuban and it was one of the best I've ever had!

Cute, little, metro cafe with table or bar service. Importantly, there is parking in the rear of the building off the alley between Court and State. Good strong coffee! Unfortunately, it turns out there is nothing on the menu for vegetarians. I ordered a Spinach Empanada to go for $8 - the good news is that it was 2 very large Empanadas that looked pretty good, the bad news is that it was filled with meat. Service at the counter was very friendly and efficient.

Looking for a place to sit down and let you mom make you a sandwich and Ice Coffee, this is the place. You know it's good when she sets down the coffee and takes it back to make it even better! Sandwich and chips are my go to. Thank you !

Yummmmm!! I got the sandwich Cubano and it was absolutely delicious. I've driven past many times and always wanted to stop. The sidewalk is under construction right now, but they are still open (they have a back entrance). It was a beautiful restaurant and the service was very good.

Stumbled into here and am like "how have I not been here before?!?" Great service, the food is great, fresh, made with love. This lady rules, this place rules, come and get the most affordable and delicious breakfast Sandwhich in town.

We will be back! The service was wonderful. She allowed my kids to watch her cook and even gave them a snack while we waited for our to go order. The food was delicious. I can't wait to try other empanadas! My husband loved his sandwich and the kids were big fans of the French toast (so was I).

Coffee is good, but unfortunately my latte came with a fruit fly. The food is all microwaved and not authentic.

The chicken empanada is delicious! The chai is sweet, so if you like sweet chai you'll love it

The woman who served us was super nice. We ordered a hot chai (which is a dirty chai with espresso shots although the menu doesn't say that) and a hot nutella coffee and both were delicious. The nutella coffee has the perfect amount of strong espresso and nutella flavor. We also tried the guava empanada! The dough was perfect and sweet. The filling tastes exactly like guava so it may not be as sweet as some Americans are used to but I don't want that to deter you. Lovely little authentic place!

Awesome new Latin owed coffee shop in down town Salem! Just opened and serve a variety of freshly ground coffee drinks, matcha, and tea. Also serve some delicious hand made Cuban empanadas, ranging from sweet to savory. I had the matcha latte with a guava empana and couldn't wait to take some empanadas home with me. They also serve authentic caffe cubano that comes in a cute aesthetic little espresso cup! Definitely recommend you check out this new spot.

The classic Cuban sandwich was the best sandwich I have ever eaten. The leftovers of it were also amazing.

Don't let the small space and limited menu fool you. The owner makes a mean Cubano sandwich you will dream about!

Nicest people run the place. The pork sandwiches are great. The indoor ambiance is comfortable. Outside is next to a busy street.

We have tried many Cuban restaurants in PDX and have been disappointed. This was our first time coming to Hillsboro Station. There were many options but really this looked like it would be the best. I was trying not to get my hopes up. I told the guy/chef this and he said after you try the food come back and tell me if it was the best. I did come back, and he was right! We got the sampler with meat. There is also a non meat option. My wife tried the pork first. I was waiting to hear her thoughts. She know good pork. She said it was delicious! On the way home I asked what it tasted like (I don't eat pork/beef). I asked if it was salty and garlicy, she said yes, and crispy. Now that sounds like how pork should be. Everything in the sampler was really good, lots of flavor. There was a green sauce on the chicken and steak... it might have been mojo. It was so good, LOTS OF GARLIC FLAVOR. It was just what I wanted. He mentioned the was a chef in cuba, for 25 yr's, and that the bean recipe was his grandmothers. Nice right? The beans did have a lot of flavor, sweetness too, I would like more salt in there. The white rice was also really good, this says a lot. There was chicken, steak, the roasted port, plantano frito, tostone, yuca con mojo, with some of that green sauce and red pickled onions. On the drive home, I wished we bought more just to take home with us. The guy is very friendly, and you can see he puts love into his food. He's got lots of energy. If you want to do your tastebuds a favor... and you feel like a short road trip to Hillsboro, come visit Azucar for some great Cuban food! We are coming back. If we lived in Hillsboro, we'd been buying this every week for sure. What do you think about opening up a food truck in Portland??

I have not really had Cuban food before so I didn't really have any expectations and or knowing to what to expect for flavor. There were so many dishes I wanted to try, but I decided to try their special of the day, the Vaca Fritto Bowl. This was a great decision because it had a little bit of everything-- sweet and savory. Everything in the bowl was delicious, with the flavors and textures complementing each other. I was super excited to get to try the tostones without giving up the maduros. Our family always ordered the maduros at a favorite San Francisco place in the Haight, and I've always wanted to try the tostones. With the bowl, I didn't have to decide, which was awesome because both were fabulous. The avocado was perfectly ripe, as was the mango. There was ample seating inside and outside with a colorful and festive vibe. I look forward to returning and bringing my lobster.
