Sat around for 4 hours just to be told that I can't donate because of red / dry skin around my elbow. I think they just wanted to send me home because it was almost closing time The place is completely run down and disorganized. None of the water fountains work, half the screening computers are broken, and you'll stand at the front desk waiting 20 minutes for someone to get to you because they're all in back. Also the $800 a month advertisement is a lie unless you weigh more than 230 pounds. Go to bio life instead read more

CSL Plasma has a great mission, but there's a lot of room for improvement at this location! The center could be much cleaner, modern, and better staffed. At least two receptionists should be available everyday to answer general questions and assist with new donors; while the employees assist with the donors coming in and out. I've left three times in last couple of weeks without donating, because of the wait times. The process for both new and returning donors should be more efficient, with better communication and less waiting between steps. Security could also be improved with more visible and mobile personnel. Lastly, compensation for loyal repeat donors should be increased to better reflect the time commitment, overall donation process, and rising cost of living. I doubt CSL will make any changes to its location, rewards program, or donation process, but I figured I'd leave my feedback! ‍ read more

I suggest bringing an ugly sweater and a book of carols, because the staff prefers to wait until Christmas to serve each person in line for vitals. If you think you're getting in and out, you might as well call off work the next day because they make it a priority to only have two people doing vitals for a full line and if you don't wait at least an hour in line they'll work slower to make sure you're not called until the next presidential election. Please be prepared to spend your entire day or night waiting in line. They think it's fashionable to wait until the return of Christ before they take the next persons vitals. Also don't worry if there's only 5 people in line, you'll be relived to know that you'll still be waiting a healthy hour and a half before you get a bed. If you enjoy waiting a good minimum hour in line, I highly suggest coming to this location. They take pride in maintaining Arizona's slowest line for vitals. Enjoy. read more

I have recently donated twice and going back a third time. The employees are very professional and genuine and answered all my questions and concerns. It's pretty easy you go in to the front desk if it's your first time and they will get you started usually takes about 2 hours 2 and 1/2 hours and you're out of there but right now they're giving $100 for your first five visits and the money is directly deposited to a CSL Visa card as soon as you walk out the door. read more

Too bad there is no negative star option. THIS CSL location is abhorrent. Everything starts from the top down. Management clearly has a disdain for every donor walking thru the front door. This trickles down as acceptable behavior to nearly every employee I've encountered there. Donors are looked down on as if the staff is above them. They do not listen. Never smile. Are short and rude and just no one who works there acts like they want to be there. This is a fact and obvious. This is not just a me issue. This location is WELL KNOWN for rudeness and incompetence and I will not return after 10 or so visits. I WILL go to the Gilbert location however. It's very sad to see in action such a toxic, completely disfunctional work environment. The entire management needs to be FIRED! This location literally needs to hit the reset button. See for yourself. It's an aweful place that will defer you for even questioning them regarding anything. It's as if they truly enjoy deferring donors. And for those who truly need plasma donating to supplement their income..., I consider this stealing from innocent people. The nurses there..., I am shocked how my nurse even received a nursing license as they do not even know what an open wound is classified as with the FDA nor what any CSL medical company policies are. It's very unfair that you can just lower the payout because you feel like it. Horrible experience. Waste of 2 hours plus drive time & gas money. New member. Went slowly thru the initiation process. Last step before donating is medical. Overweight medical woman asked me if my foot hurt because I had a slight limp. I said yes and that it was nothing to worry about - likely plantar fasciitis. She asked if I had seen a doctor. I laughed and said no. She told me I couldn't donate until a doctor signed a release form. For clarification, I asked her ... if anyone comes in with any pain or discomfort or anything, can they donate? She replied no and that they must get medical clearance from a doctor. This place is 100% the biggest joke ever. You will be pushed around waiting in so many different lines, they probably will not input your information correctly making you walk around the facility while they try and figure out how to fix their problems. Then when you get back to finally donate, you just might get left sitting in the chair for 20 min while they take back 5 other patients after you. Very weird place first off. Telling people to wait in 100° weather with no waiting room or water is extremely dangerous as wait is very long. Thought they would care for people in a place for saving lives. Secondly, I hope they provide mental health resources for their staff they seem very off especially as a place that have Saving lives and Happy Positive signs on the walls. 09/11 4:52pm still here and Would like to add more context. I dropped a friend off and am waiting for my friend sat in the waiting area just on my phone. And a lady comes up and asks if i am donating. I say No I am waiting for my friend. She then says i have to get out so i say okay and leave that's that. After a while i call and ask if there is any chance if i can wait inside. Lady on the phone says no you can not be loitering. And i say okay thank you bye. After searching up what it means to loiter it says waiting for a friend is completely different from loitering. I had a reason and purpose with the intention to donate in the future hence why I came. To Loiter is the stand, wander sit around aimlessly without a purpose. bothering others. I didnt say a single word while in there i didnt bother anyone i sat down and just started waiting and got kicked up after 3 min. Its been an hour and a half and i have been waiting outside. I will be coming here more often (1000 E Broadway) as I just experienced it recently. I normally go to the one on 1334 E Broadway, but I like the way everything is set up here. The staff were pleasant and I had a good experience overall. A bit of advice for summer time, make sure you're cooled off completely before they take your temperature. If it's higher than 99.5 you will be deferred for the day. When I came in, i was 19th in line, but the line went down really fast! I should have timed it but it was no more than about 20 minutes. And not sure if it's always like that but I do know that there were extra people like myself coming from the other location due to an evacuation. Anyway, this place seems a bit more organized than others, with Jeremiah running the front desk. He's amazing. read more

DONT BOTHER WITH GOING HERE! THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE! VERY VERY RUDE STAFF. TYPE OF CARE IS SUB PAR. Care quality- none!! THIS PLACE IS A JOKE!! . It's so obvious that no one seems to enjoy their job because they have such poor and RUDE attitudes! This place very much a lack of pleasantry... Dirty computer kiosks to use at check in. There was a security guard walking around the back telling other employees he couldn't wait until 6 to get out of there. You wait in line on a first come first serve basis. Getting bounced around for a half an hour to get vitals and poking your finger for blood not having any bandaids!! REALLY!?? No bandaids. More waiting before you go back. One employee has 10 people in their section to tend to. They are very slow, seem untrained at best.. They have no people skillsput the needle in very uncomfortably- and it's so unprofessional the interaction they have not caring about the job they do and treat you as such. Slow and uncomfortable when they take needle out!! THEY BRUISE YOU SO BAD! They obviously seem to bruise everyone from hearing others talk about it in line.. and go SO slow to disconnect people waiting about a minuite or 2 before they wrap you. The place feels very dingy and old. Bathroom was deplorable and each time I went there it was filthy with a toilet out of order. UN flushed toilets and garbage on the floor. GROSS!! No one seems happy to work there and they don't care about the donors on any level. The lobby line smelled like weed -Very obvious a stoner in-line. Someone about to donate. Wow.. Floors are not that clean and they don't hit the bar at all for hygiene. The type of care, or lack there of .. makes me not want to ever go back. THIS IS BY FAR WORST PLASMA CENTER IN THE VALLEY. Care quality is a joke. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS PLACE. Go to another plasma donation company that's clean, polite and has a much better level of care with nicer people. They don't even deserve a star at all.. HORRIBLE PLACE!!! You'll be there for hours .Then try and heal from the bruise they give you. This place is so awful and they know it !! I arrived at 10am as a new donor. I explained I'd never donated several times. I went through the entire process which took 3 and half hours it's 1:30 now. To be told I can't donate because they can't stick my vein without even trying. Angry is an understatement. This is unacceptable. read more

Literal feces on the sink in the bathroom, you're usually about to wait 2 hours to donate plasma for an hour, however if they're broken equipment gives you an inaccurate pulse reading (which has now happened to me 3 times) you can expect to sit in a hallway ("medical") just for someone to redo your vitals and have you sign consent form which will take you an extra hour and a half, to two hours because the staff are incompetent and don't care whatsoever about your time. You also won't get compensated if they waste extra hours of your time so? Grifols plasma is probably better but both are bad. Also if someone who's training messes your arm up they'll blame you for "being tense" or whatever else when their manager comes over even though they simply messed up. read more

I typically have a wonderful donation process. But today my phlebotomist was just not in the greatest mood. My screening was phenomenal Sarge was quick, efficient and kind. however once I got to the chair it was a different story. she didn't have a name tag so I'm assuming she doesn't get the best reviews. It was a young black short phlebotomist who was just not very kind shoved the needle and didn't really care to see if I was OK even though I said ouch. which is very out of character for most of the people that work there. She was very rude and snappy. Honestly ruined my experience today. I had been waiting to get disconnected when my older mother called knowing that I was donating so I thought it was an emergency and confirmed if she was OK quickly before hang up but the phlebotomist snapped at me and had me wait longer to disconnect me because she must've been upset that I answered the phone not sure but it was just terrible experience. I even bled through my bandage and didn't bother to go back inside because I just did not want to deal with it. read more

Decent pay, good people. Usually not to crowded, though it can be at times. New donor donation time is anywhere from about 2-4 hours, depending upon whether it's busy or not and I think the pay right now (as of 4/8/2021) is $75 for your first 5 visits and you ARE required to wear a mask for your entire visit, due to covid. Horibble management. Poor sense of urgency from staff. Went in as a new donor and was told that I should wait in line behind 4 other new donors. They said the new donor process takes about 3 hours but advertise 1 hour and 40 minutes for thursdays. I drove to a different csl and went through the whole process in less than 2 hours. In summary, if you don't want to be lied to, and would rather deal with a more professional staff, go to the one down the street. read more

Ahhh.... the Stab Lab. This was a sad, sad, sad time in my life. I've got the plasma scars to prove it. Someone once asked me if I had ever been involved with heroin because of the scar tissue bunched up on my veins. I can't say I ever had a "pleasant" experience donating plasma. I give this place four stars because it saved my ass, not because it was a magnificent way to spend my saturday. When I didn't have money for food, this place gave me money for food. I'd stock up on mac & cheese, buy a pack of smokes and two forties. I was good to go, man. You go in, they prick your finger and get blood out of it, then you lay down on a bed in the back and they stick a SPIKE (not a needle), a friggin' SPIKE into your arm and you pump and pump until all this blood comes out. They spin the blood in this machine until clear, water-lookin' liquid comes out--that's your plasma--and they put the blood back into your body. All the while, they have a movie playing for you, usually a movie you would never consider renting, something like Monster in Law or Hitch or the Great Mouse Detective or something. At the very end of the ordeal, they replace your plasma with saline. I can only describe that feeling as getting injected with mentholated blood. Your mouth gets all cold and you feel a little sick. But hey, you just scored out on some hard, non-taxable cash, so the feeling fades once you walk around for a little bit. The people you meet there, you are not likely to forget. You will always have a story to tell your friends after a day of getting stabbed. read more

Arrived. Was given ear pieces to listen to some audio. After that, I was given some pages to flip through covered in plastic which....was the same thing in the video. Twice? Ok... Then, I was told by the new girl to sit down off to the side and wait. After waiting and waiting..about 45 minutes, I was called. I was told by this girl that the next I should just wait in line so they can see me. Uh, but...I was told to sit over "there." The Diagnosis? I got hosed by the new employee. Too bad I wasn't compensated for every mishap this day because I could retire early. I then went to this area where they proceeded to ask me questions about all of my tattoos. What it was, and what every color was present, etc. Cause I guess if I get new ink they will somehow know was the premise and I couldn't give blood till a year after. I wondered, do they do a cross reference every time you go there? So I asked. They don't. So then how would the know? Seems a bit much if you ask me. Most people there donate because they need the money, so do they really think those people are going to be honest about drugs, sexual practices,...let alone that they got "new ink"? Of course not, cause they need the money. But hey, let's please the law makers shall we? I went back to the exam room where the girl proceeded to go back over everything that I just listened to and read before entering the room. What the deuce?! I'm now agitated. I hop up on the exam table where I was given the most awful and incompetent exam. When listening to my lungs, the person placed the stethoscope over my posterior deltoid and was off on the other side as well. The posterior lobe...you would have thought was at my waist...ok, perhaps my flank would be more accurate. My heart was auscultated over the middle of my left pectoralis muscle and so was the right side. So much for that aortic and pulmonic valve. She did at least make a decent palpatory effort when digging for an enlarged liver. I then left the "exhaustive" exam and headed back to the chair. After sort of not hearing the lady's instructions on where to go, I made my way back through all of the people who seemed like they were probably just at the DMV...you know that crowd? yeah....so...I sit down and get stuck with that lovely 17g needle only to have it clot. They did the other arm and it too clotted. Thinking that I wasn't going to compensated in the tune of 45 clams was quite unsettling. To throw more gas onto the fire, I was told by the one girl that since they didn't get any plasma, I would have to re register again because there was nothing to link me to - yeah...do it all over again. You know that saying, "phuck that noise" ? Yeah, it applies. There was a light at the end of the tunnel, and it was not in fact a train with the roadrunner at the helm, but it was the fact that I did not have to repeat that agonizing registration and I did get paid. I think I will try the other one on Broadway. read more

When you atte broke and unemployed in AZ you either pawn your stuff or come here. I'm from California and never seen so many plasma centers or pawn shops until I came to AZ. Ok so I'm broke and unemployed need to pay bills I came here. Yes you got to bring a lot of stuff and wait until you get full screening. That can take a while the first time hence the low stars. Yes sketchy people will be there but guess what easy money attracts people. The staff is surly but guess what they got to deal with a lot of sketchy people. But free ac and a movie while the take that precious gold from your veins. The first couple of donations are lucrative but after the "honeymoon" period you got to come twice a week to have it pay off. But 50 bucks a week tax free is good enough for me. The other complain I have is you don't get cash it's a debit card. What I did went to the market got a gallon of water (you need to rehydrate after a donation) and cash it out with no fee. Wait in line to get screen for 30mins then get to the floor and got seated right away only to sit for another 25mins before getting hooked up. Bozena was hooking up while another one did disconnects. Why isn't everyone trained to do it all instead of one person to do one thing and then the other to do another. They all walk around like they are hating life and the job. I went to donate plasma today n was deferred for the day because 3 workers decided I was the one to deferre for apparently smelling like pot. I talked to a damn supervisor and he said he has to listen to the 3 flaps in the back. Mind you I asked for a drug test and was still given the run around because what the 3 in back smelt. I dont smoke pot and hate the way it wreaks. The supervisor and the nurse told me I didn't smell like pot but what the flaps say have power over the donors. Rude and unprofessional. read more
