If the needle poked me in the center why am I bruising my whole arm?

When I went in everything seemed great, until it was time had the donation. The lady had poked me wrong and have about 3 different people moving the needle which made it a very uncomfortable experience. I saw another review where they messed up her arm and they also left bruising to where I can not donate now. I couldn't even finish my bottle because it kept stopping. I would recommend looking into BioLife because the people there are pretty experienced.

    Their level of service.

I've been coming to this location for over a year. Staff has been alright and overall never really any major complaints until now...this is ridiculous. First...on May 30th I arrived at 1:20 pm and got screen per usual. Then proceeded to wait over 2.5 hours before I got called back to the donation floor, only to wait in the chair another 30 minutes. Manager approached me (the only person there sticking) telling me all the staff called in sick due to some party the night before....and to top it off he missed my vein terribly. Now fast forward to today, July 1st. I hadn't been back since May 30th due to how terribly it went and thought it was time. Well nope! The picture attached to this review is from them closing early due to staffing issues. Up until May I was frequent enough donor to have Gold level status at one point but no more. I'm finding another location.

My bruising from being stabbed incorrectly in 3 places I haven't bruising smh

I usually have a dope experience at this Plasma center. First 4 times you donate you get the most money for plasma. My 4th time they had a trainee, who messed my vein all the way up & I couldn't get the full amount because I wouldn't let them stick me again smh! Lemme show you my arm because now I wouldn't recommend ANYONE to go

My neighbor suggested I try BioLife, so I went to this location on Richmond Avenue. There was only one person at the Check-In counter so I had to wait 20 minutes. Once I checked in, which took 5 minutes, I waited another 5 minutes before seeing the first screening unit. The screening took about 5 minutes. I then waited for 10 minutes to visit with a nurse for a physical exam. The exam lasted only 5 minutes. The nurse told me I was not eligible to donate because I had a pacemaker. That's odd. I've been donating for years with a pacemaker without a single problem. I asked the nurse why the disqualification wasn't posted on their website. The nurse didn't apologize. So, I wasted $45 on Uber and 1 hour of waiting in lines just to be denied. This place was a zoo. They were short staffed which caused very long lines. I only met one staffer who was pleasant, the rest appeared to be rushed and unconcerned. One nurse appeared to be frantic while trying to move customers along. After witnessing all of this, I can't imagine why anyone would go here except those who were hard pressed to get some money. Thanks, but no thanks. I'll continue to donate for free at Gulf Coast Blood Centers where I'm surrounded by pleasant staff and get free snacks, including Otis Spunkmeyer cookies.

I recently started going to the Westchase Center, which is closer to home. After several visits, I can honestly say I'm a fan. Carla, Ashley and Shonda are my hero's. These ladies really know how to take care of you. Their efficiency and customer service skills are second to none! Even when it's crowded, I've waited no more than 5 minutes for my appointment. I recommend completing the questionnaire on their website, which will decrease the time of your overall visit. My veins are small, they roll and are hard to find at times, but these ladies get it right every time. The center is clean and the chairs are comfortable, and recline back to help you relax. Each station has an individual TV with a remote, so you won't miss your favorite show. There's wi-fi if you choose to surf the web on your phone, or update your Facebook status. Or maybe you're just like me and you're spending that time checking in and commenting on Yelp. Whatever you choose to do, the center can accommodate you. The staff's friendly attitude makes you feel comfortable, and they remind you that giving blood saves lives. You feel like you are doing something positive for the community as the machine drains a pint of blood from your body. Blood is so important to keeping people alive, which is why every donation it called "the gift of life." Please remember to eat a decent meal and drink plenty of water before donating blood. The food will keep you from becoming dizzy and possibly passing out, and the water will hydrate you, which makes your blood flow faster. After donating, you can help yourself to the complimentary water, juice and snacks. If you are not a current donor, I urge you to rethink your position because you may need "the gift of life" one day.

As I was standing talking to the intake Francis the front desk nurse had ask me to sit when he bought us to the back, and I told him I didn't want to sit down and he left. Justine came and told me to sit down, I was not outside of the room I was standing in the room, I was answering some questions to the intake person standing right on the side of her, while my friend went to have a test done. I told her I didn't want to sit, as she interrupted the conversation with the intake person and I she told me if I didn't sit down I would have to leave from the back, so I left. She never once said anything about privacy, and insisted that I go back to the front and I left. As I was in the front, Francis explained it to me about privacy and was going to allow me to go back and we agreed I sit down. Then she came to the front and told the front desk and told Francis to not allow me to go back to the back, so he didn't. I got her name from him to file this complaint due to the lie that was told on me by Justine. Justine had even told my friend who wanted me to go in the back with him that I was laughing at the patient and he had informed her that I wouldn't do anything like that at all, that's not her character. tl;dr - this is the most expensive way I've found to give your blood to someone who may or may not…read morebe a medical professional. The Yelp Deal: If you purchase this Yelp deal, you are only getting $10 off. It is NOT paying for a treatment. You will be charged another $99 when you go (total charge of $189 for a service that is normally $199). Also, double check the 5-star reviews - most are more than two years old and posted by people with few friends and even fewer reviews. Booking online: As soon as you book online via their website, you'll receive a phone call from someone confirming the appointment and asking if you have any questions. Keep in mind that the website does not mention how much services are going to cost unless you pre-pay with PayPal. So, I booked online with the pay later option then got the Yelp deal thinking I was covered for the treatment. Cost of the treatment is not a question I would have thought to ask the person confirming my appointment. Check in: You fill out some paper work and sign a few documents. Nothing too terrible or time consuming. Keep in mind that I arrived at my appointment 30 mins early and got into the room 10 mins early. At no time during the check-in process was I told how long the treatment would take but based on my research online, I had planned about 30 minutes. Consultation: Courtney took me to a private room and because I thought I was talking to a medical professional on my first visit, I went into a quick recap of what I was hoping to accomplish with these treatments. Courtney was overwhelmed by more than, "I'll take the vitamin bag" and called in Kirk to talk to me and to make me a custom bag. STOP SCANNING - THIS PART IS IMPORTANT: At this point in the visit, it still hasn't occurred to me how easily I'm convinced that people wearing scrubs are medical professionals and now that I think about it, at no point in this process was anyone referred to as a Doctor. Blood work: You sign a document that says you understand that blood work needs to be done prior to IV Treatment but the fact that they don't tell you what they're checking for (besides blood count) makes me very, very uncomfortable. They have your blood by your consent and you have no idea what they're going to do with it or who they are going to send it to. My anxiety takes me to a place where my blood results are now going to be sold with my credit score on the dark web or used in some sort of cloning experiment funded by ancestry.com. Seriously, I just gave them my blood with absolutely no follow up questions? I'm an idiot. The treatment: Courtney brings in a bag of yellow fluid and tells me that the chair I'm sitting in can recline if I want it to. I confirm that it should take about 30 mins and he says, "maybe 45." BTW, it took my bag an hour to drain. He checked on me a couple of times but only offered me a call button at the end of my treatment... to let him know when the bag was empty. If you decide to do this, please remember to ask for a blanket beforehand. I didn't realize how cold the fluids would be going into your body and of course that temperature is going to end up throughout your entire body. They did not offer a blanket or water or anything except the Counting Crows Pandora channel to listen to while I was in the room. An hour of the Counting Crows channel on Pandora. Please remember to bring your headphones. Check out: When I complained about the wait time, the new admin at the front desk told me to ask for the short bag next time. Seriously? Next time? Why wasn't that an option given to me THE FIRST TIME?! For those of you still convinced you want to do this, please (for me), ask for a blanket and the short bag. And if you could find out what they're doing with our blood, that would be fantastic. Also, she didn't know how to ring up the Yelp deal because I'm apparently the only person who has ever fallen for it. I arrived 30 mins early and was there for an hour and 40 mins in the middle of my work day. Considering their hours of operation, the cost, and the wait time - this is clearly not a service targeted to anyone who works regular business hours or (let's face it) even works at all. If this review saves one person $199... I'll feel way better than I did after this treatment. Let's talk about how I feel: Like someone who wasted money paying the tab for someone they just spent two unproductive hours with and who they are never going to call again. And two hours later, my urine is the same color as the fluid they had in the bag. Coincidence? Bonus: While I was impressed (and maybe a little hurt) that they didn't try to upsell me to anything else they were selling in the building (Lipo, Saxenda, Botox), I do feel like they are missing a HUGE marketing opportunity by not offering a Super Soldier discount - a bag a week for only $10,000 (That's a savings of $348)!

There is no price chart in this office or on the website so it hard to argue with them. I felt confident that I didn't ask for $275 option b/c in my mind my budget was under $200. However, I will give them the benefit of the doubt that there might be a misunderstanding or miscommunication between us and the office. But at the end we had to pay for more than what we were quoted for. That did not sit well with us.
