Dr. Yang is super duper nice and helpful!

Dr Yang has been my dr for over 20 years. The office is well run. I rarely had to wait when it's my appointment. She keeps great record of all the visits because she remembers what we discussed on last visits which could be as long as a year. Medication refill, test, referral are very easy. Her office calls me about test result as soon as it gets in. Her office calls my pharmacy for medication. Her nurse takes great care in drawing blood or giving shot. I feel just a little bit of pain. I can't imagine moving away from Houston because of dr Yang. I feel spoil with her when I visit other doctors. I hope she continues to take my insurance. I'm so lucky to have found her. read more

Please consider twice. Have medical insurance and yet i was charged for a "level three" office visit for the amount of $115.00. Despite this price, E. Yang did not take any x-ray and was not respectful towards my medical answers, she interrupted me too much therefore was not able to get my message across. She charged me $115.00 for an office visit so I called my insurance and made a complaint towards that office visit. Not visiting her again. read more

I've been going to Dr. Yang for about 8 years now. She always knows what you're talking about before you even finish your sentence. This use to be a flaw as she use to interrupt and not listen, but I believe enough people mentioned this to her and I have noticed she really does listen now. I have been a patient, of Dr. Yang, for over 15 years. In 2003, her nurse, Elizabeth, kept calling and calling, reminding me that I was past due for my mammogram. I had a lot going on, at work, and kept putting it off. Because of her persistence, I scheduled my mammogram. And, a lump was found. It was cancer in its beginning stages. A lumpectomy and radiation followed. Thank God that Elizabeth kept badgering me or I would have put it off for probably another year. When I go in for my annual well visit, Dr. Yang always thoroughly goes over my chart, on her laptop, ask questions and makes notes. Nurse Elizabeth always follows up with a phone call to update me on blood work or tests results. Dr. Yang put me on a certain fish oil for my cholesterol, before prescribing drugs, to see if that lowered it. Yes, it did. She believes in trying lifestyle changes and alternative medicines before prescribing drugs. I like that in a physician. I highly recommend Dr. Yang (and Elizabeth of course) for a primary care physician. They have taken very good care of me. read more

Dr. Yang has been my family physician for about thirty years. She is a top practitioner in her field of family medicine. I have always found her to be attentive, knowledgeable, thorough and kind. I am healthier today because of her! I usually don't have to wait more than a few minutes with each scheduled appointment, due to the efficiency of her office. The waiting room is comfortable and has a large TV and good reading material; parking is easy and available. If you are looking for a primary care physician, I highly recommend Dr. Yang. Dr. Yang has been my primary physician for more than twenty years. She is diligent, thorough and responsive. When appropriate she has referred me to excellent specialists. I've read some negative reviews on this site that sound to me like the person is lying. Certainly no such experience has ever remotely happened to me. Dr. Yang is always polite, listens carefully and explains clearly and at length. She is also on top of my fairly extensive history with her practice and doesn't make mistakes because of faulty memory of past issues. She obviously works long, long hours and is very dedicated. I can't account for the negative reviews of Dr. Yang. I have been her patient for ten years. She comes from a family of doctors and is energetic, highly competent, and caring. She keeps careful notes and follows through with any concerns she has. I've never known her to miss a beat, and several of the specialists I have consulted have commented that they consider her an excellent doctor. The main drawback is that if you are injured in an automobile accident she requires you to pay out of pocket and apply to your insurance company for reimbursement yourself. Either that, or she will refer to you another doctor who accepts automobile insurance. And I live in Houston, not San Francisco where Yelp has for some reason located me. read more

I came to dr. Yang just to do shingles shot. After I was waiting for about an hour, she wanted to collect $25 for the doctor's visit. I have explained to her that I just had a physical and I do not need appointment, but she insisted! Fine! It was like a bad, really bad joke. Dr. Yang has been my doctor for the past 3.5 years or so ever since I moved into the area. She's been great! She's knowledgeable, thorough, caring and very professional. The problem I have is not with her but her receptionist. The current one is sort of new 'cause I already went through two receptionists. The first one was quite good and the second one was really awesome. The current one sounds very blunt and even rude. I have made several phone calls since she was hired. Every time I called Dr. Yang's office, I always hung up with a very bad taste coming from her. I was yelled at by Dr. Yang's husband (who is also an employee at the office), treated with disregard, told to go away, and told that the matter I contacted the office for was not important. Mr. Yang also gave me copies of another patient's full medical records due to his negligence in verifying my identity because he was preoccupied with speaking to me in a demeaning tone. He spoke to me in such a way that a grown man should never use towards a young woman, or anyone else for that matter. Dr. Yang herself ultimately condoned her husband's behavior by being careless in not taking initiative to resolve the issue. This office is extremely rude and unprofessional. DETAILED REVIEW: I called this office after previously being seen to inquire about a bill that I received after the visit. Mr. Yang answered the phone and after I explained to him what I needed, he told me to call back "later" because he didn't have time to deal with my issue, because the office was "busy". I asked for a specific time and date to call back as well as his name, and he repeatedly stated " I don't know, just call back later," refusing to transfer me to someone else who would be able to help me. After repeatedly asking for his name, he gave me his first name, and told me he didn't have a last name and hung the phone up in my face. I proceeded to go to the office to try and handle the situation in person with another employee only to find that the office was in fact not busy at all. Upon arrival, Mr. Yang was at the front desk and I let him know that I was the individual he previously spoke to on the phone. He immediately began to address me very aggressive including asking "what's the point of you being here, we can't help you", "go away, just leave", "your issue is not important, it's just XX amount of dollars on the bill just pay for it!" He even ignored me and refused my request for copies of my medical records. I asked to speak to the doctor (as she was the only other staff member superior to him there) and he refused to even notify the doctor I was there to see her. After threatening to report him for refusal of providing me with copies of my records he finally printed them out. He did not ask for my ID or any other form of confirmation of who I was and subsequently gave me another patient's medical records due to his negligence. He then proceeded to call security after arguing with me regarding notifying the doctor that I was there and falsely accused me of impeding other patients of being serviced, but there was only one other patient in the waiting room who confirmed that this was false once the security guard arrived. The security guard tried to mediate the situation by asking Mr. Yang to ask the doctor for a good time for me to return and Mr. Yang again refused. The security guard waited with me in the waiting room for 3 hours (the office had closed by then) before Mr. Yang finally let the doctor know I wanted to speak to her and she later came out. Instead of listening to my concerns and explanation of what transpired with her husband, Dr. Yang continued to interrupt me as I was discussing the matter, and continuously made excuses for her husband such as, "the office is short staffed and he is under a lot of pressure due to this, so I needed to be understanding". She continued to try to sweep the matter under the rug and tried to change the subject instead of taking ownership and seeking to resolve the issue. She had absolutely no concern with what transpired for the previous three hours, although the security guard also tried to explain the situation to her because she kept cutting me off. Once we discussed the billing situation, she stated that it is in fact her husband who deals with such matters and he should have helped me. I cannot bring myself to think of any logical reason as to why this man treated me with such disgust and disregard and why Dr. Yang condoned his behavior. read more

Went to see Dr. Yang on Friday afternoon because I have been sick for 2 weeks. At the end, she said she will call in the RX to my pharmacy. I called my pharmacy and there was no call or order of the RX. Tried calling her office back, and chose the emergency line but no one picked up. Waited for 15 minutes then finally left a voicemail under option "RX". Now I am going to stay sick all weekend until I can reach someone on Monday. read more

Dr. Yang has been my primary health care physician since 2005. I always get appointments within the time frame my work schedule allows me. She is very meticulous in getting all symptoms and check ups to prescribe the right treatment and get you well as soon as possible. Her integrity, dedication and commitment to provide the best health care are among many qualities of this Dr. I moved further away towards 288 S and decided to keep her as my primary Dr. even though she offered to find me a good Dr in the area closer to home. She's still my doctor. Elizabeth, her nurse and assistant is the only one can get my blood drawn in only one try and no bruises. That's a lot to say in my case. read more

After reading all of the wonderful reviews on Dr. Yang, I was disappointed when my visit with her was less than satisfactory. After waiting about 45 minutes to see anyone, Dr. Yang had a nursing student come in and visit with me before she came in to visit with me. Honestly, the nursing student was a better listener and more polite than Dr. Yang. It was shocking. Dr. Yang was abrupt and not inclined to listen to how I was feeling. She said everything "looked" fine and basically, nothing was wrong with me. I tried to explain to her that I suffer from allergies and was worried that I might be coming down with a sinus infection (very serious stuff, can put you out for weeks), as I've been allergy prone my whole life. Dr. Yang then proceeded to tell me that no, it's not allergies. She totally disregarded my knowledge and past experiences. After constantly being inturrupted and told that I'm fine, nothing is wrong, she sent me on my way with a 6-pill box of Aleve. It's been one week since I've seen Dr. Yang and I still have the same symptoms that I had when I saw her last week. Bottom line: Find a doctor who listens to you. If you appreciate that much out of a doctor, Dr. Yang is not for you. read more

I was rather disappointed. Having seeing all the good reviews, I decided to go with Dr. Yang. They have an IPAD set up at the front desk and I was asked to check in on the IPAD. Beware, you are automatically enrolled in an online portal service program by signing on IPAD and will be charged $ 60 annual fee every year if you do not call to cancell it within 30 days. This service is provided by a thrid party company located in NY and the relevant information is buried in pages of forms you need to fill out for your first visit. You will receive an email from doctor (not from the NY company which could have raised a red flag for me) afterwards. Your option to cancel it, again, hidden somewhere at the bottom of the email. I do not recall anyone in the office spoke about the anuual service and its fee, which will be automatically renewed unless you call the NY company. I was not aware of this additional charge at all throughtout the process. I wish I had read that email in detail but I simply assumed that charge will be impossed only if you take an active step to enrolled online. The money involved is not a lot but I feel I was unfairly taken advantage without being sufficiently informed. I do not like this kind of arrangement. read more

Dr. Yang has been my primary care physician for 16 years and I would never go elsewhere. The staff are helpful, friendly and efficient (physician's assistant Elizabeth is the best). Dr. Yang discusses her diagnoses and treatment plans with me in as much detail as I ask for, which I really appreciate. I am not a young woman and I searched long and hard for a doctor who would fit my needs and , hopefully, personality..and found Dr. Yang after a recommendation from a neighbor. She has been my doctor now for four, maybe five, years and I have never been disappointed with her services. Dr. Yang is a hands-on doctor, a personal physician, one who cares and follows up with her care. I feel secure in her diagnosis and her treatments. She treats the whole person and keeps record of the whys and wherefores of previous treatment, not only that given by her but by my other specialty doctors.
