You also get bonuses for giving eight times in a month and every time you give two times in a week. I would also recommend a blanket and maybe some headphones just due to the process making it super cold at the end, and keep your phone charged because you most likely can't charge it when you're there.

I moved to Greensboro 2.5 years ago, which is when I started donating at the OneBlood location on Pasteur Dr. The last two times that I went to donate blood, I dealt with Stephanie. The first time, I went to a OneBlood portable location the next day and was fine. The most recent time was last week, I need to find a portable location near me soon. I did the pre-check questionnaire and that always saves time. The desk person (usually a volunteer) was nice and dutifully scanned my card and checked me in. I've had good and bad phlebotomists, and on this viist mine was kind of indifferent. He was just very nonchalant about everything from my pre-tests to my donation experience. I drank lots of water so I knew my donation would be rather quick. Well, he disappeared into a breakroom or something while a beeper was going off -- probably indicating my bag was full. Another phlebotomist removed the needle, bandaged me up and sent me to the canteen area to recover. Got some juice, some snacks and waited my 15 minutes before departing. All in all a very quick experience.
