I think you can tell the quality of a business by what they do when by dint of circumstance they absolutely have you over a barrel. One evening an ash spontaneously gave way and came to rest heavily on the roof of our house. After spending all night trimming what limbs I could near the house to reduce the load and try to reduce potential damage to the windows, the first thing I did was call CS Tree, who have serviced my property before. Steven let me know that by a stroke of luck they happened to have a crane crew ready to head out that very minute, but they wouldn't be able to give me quote until they got there. They arrived within the hour and realistically, they could've quoted almost any number and I would've paid it. Instead, Chris gave me a quote more or less in line with what the service would cost even without the emergency callout, and the crew set to work. Watching Chris work the grapple crane is like watching some George Ballanchine choreography. Just *chefs kiss*. By mid-day, they had removed the fallen tree, taken out another dead one that I was waiting for another crew to quote me on (who never did call me back), deadwooded/pruned several other trees, ground the stumps, cut the trunks into firewood lengths (which I requested at extra cost) and cleaned up after themselves, leaving the place pristine. I used CS Tree Service to remove a Bradford Pear tree that had lost a major limb in the front yard of my rental property. They were quick to come up and give me a quote and even suggested trimming other trees in the backyard away from the house to prevent possible future damage. They broke down the quote so I could pick and choose the exact work I wanted done. I got quotes from two other services and their prices were in the same ballpark. I chose to go with CS Tree Service given how prompt they were in coming up, please the additional advice they gave versus the other companies that merely quoted taking down the main tree. Once we agreed to begin, they were also prompt in scheduling a date to come out despite their busy schedule. They did everything they said they were going to do in a timely manner and cleaned up well after themselves. Since they did grind the stump out, there was a pile of debris where the stump used to be, but that was to be expected. We LOVE these guys. They removed an enormous dead oak tree from our backyard so fast it made my head spin. It was amazing to watch. They used a grapple crane and as fast as Chris could get a limb down it disappeared into the mother of all chippers. They were fast, efficient and safe. They left the yard cleaner than they found it. We contacted CS about removing some large diseased trees from our heavily wooded yard, as well as trimming a number of limbs overhanging our roof. Steven was quick to come out and give us a thorough, detailed and reasonable estimate. (We solicited 4 estimates for the job.) Before we could schedule the work, Hurricane Matthew sent a large white oak from our neighbor's yard crashing over on our roof. The tree was not stable on the roof and presented a somewhat precarious situation. CS responded quickly to my call. Steven came out the next day (Sunday) to survey the situation and Chris and their amazing crew showed up the next day and went to work. This was an incredible team of professionals. With a huge crane, a bucket truck, a chipper shredder, dump truck and bobcat, these guys worked like a well-oiled machine. In six hours, they expertly removed three large trees (one mostly dead and unstable and one propped against the house with 40 or so feet of branches lying on our roof). They cut and hoisted huge -- tree-sized -- limbs, threading a needle up and over the house and through a maze of trees and power lines and down onto the street where their crew made quick work of cutting and shredding all the debris. They beautifully protected our landscaping, driveway and even some sculpture. They picked up every twig and blew off the roof and driveway, leaving barely a trace that they had even been there. I have used CS Tree Services numerous times and they are excellent. They have never damaged any property around the trees they are removing and always go the extra mile to clean up. My neighbors didn't even know they had been there other than the trees being gone. They most recently removed a tree with their grapple crane and brought the pieces down to the driveway for the rest of the team to remove and their wasn't enough room for the chipper to be entirely in the driveway so it stuck out into the neighborhood road. To ensure that people driving around the chipper didn't damage the neighbor's yard they laid plywood down along the neighbors grass. That is the level of detail these guys take. read more

There are not enough nice words in the English Dictionary to let you know how pleased Apex UMC is with CS Tree Services. We have approximately 20 old trees (old, old trees) on our campus and they were in need of some TLC. CS Tree Services came out and has fed 3 of these trees from the base and from the roots. They are all showing signs of making a comeback. All of the other trees were pruned, old dead branches removed, and over hanging branches were removed. CS Tree Services work has made a huge difference to all of our old trees. Will be calling them out every spring to check to make sure our trees stay healthy. Outstanding company! Great communication throughout the process of getting to a rain-free day so work could proceed. Crew was on time and the job proceeded very efficiently. Clean up was great. No damage to neighbor's lawn or ours. Crew was appropriately outfitted with safety gear and it was obvious they all were very safety conscious. Very pleased with this service. I called on a Monday, Steven came out to give me an estimate on Tuesday and sent me an estimate within the hour. On Wednesday, I told Steven I wanted to hire them, and they came out that morning to complete the work. Initially, Steven told me it might take a few weeks to get out and complete the work, but I told him I needed it done sooner than later, so they fit me in that day. Their price was equivalent to another service I got a quote from, and $50 less than a third service. Steven was very pleasant to talk with and responsive to my emails. While he was at the house for the estimate, he also gave me some advice on a tree I was concerned about. He told me it didn't need to come down, even though I thought maybe it did, which made me happy that he wasn't just trying to sell a service I didn't need. They seemed to do a good job with the stump grinding. The area is flat with a bunch of wood mulch, which is what I expected since I didn't ask them to take away the mulch.
