I made an appointment and the gentleman showed up, looked at the tree and gave me a price just to put it on the ground. I agreed with the price because it was very reasonable, considering the size of the tree and the fact that they used no heavy equipment. There were two men with chainsaws and ropes, and one climbed the tree, and as they cut off each limb or part of the tree, they lowered it by rope to the ground. I appreciated this because the tree was next to my house and there were a line of Frasier furs under the tree on the other side so they didn't damage anything and did a great job and I'll definitely be calling them back in the future. read more

We were particularly concerned because one of the trees was really huge and both were situated in the wettest, swampiest part of yard. We had a large dead tree that was causing our neighbors some concern so we decided to get some quotes for removal. Isai with Tree Men Services was very responsive when we asked for a quote and came out the same day to look at the tree. We had gotten about 6 different quotes, but chose to go with Tree Men Services because they were the cheapest option. We were told that it would be $600 cheaper to have the power company come out and disconnect the power line while the tree was being removed; otherwise, they would need a crane. We decided to go with the cheaper option and have Duke Energy come to disconnect our power. Isai showed up with his team the day of the tree removal along with Duke Energy. However, Isai said our total cost would actually be $800 more than our quote. He stated that he had asked me if the gas line ran along the property, which was incorrect. I could have called 411 to have the line identified. He said that if they let the tree fall, it could damage underground gas or water lines so they would have to take more time to safely take the tree down. This was the explanation for the extra $800. He showed me that there was an asterisk on the quote about utilities. Since his men were already starting the work, Duke had already cut the power, and we had been planning this for weeks, we felt no choice but to go ahead. If we had known it would be an extra $800, we would have gone with a different company where we didn't have to cut our power all day. We didn't have power from about 9:30am until 6pm, which was frustrating since we had a four-year old child at home to entertain/feed and it was still cold weather outside. As far as the service, Tree Men Company did a very safe job. The tree was removed safely by his team. However, we felt like we did not receive fair service. This doesn't seem like a good way to run a business. If it was going to be $800 more, just be upfront, open, and honest during the initial phase. They did end up going down $200 in the end, but that still left us paying an extra $600 more than we expected and budgeted for. Next time, we'll choose a different company that will be more honest with their pricing; I will not recommend this company to anyone. read more

We have a tree whose lower branches rest on or bat at the electrical service drop and cable line from the pole to our house. Tree Men Services came out the the same day I requested a quote and offered a fair price. They were able to come out two days later, a quicker turnaround than anyone else we quoted. Their team finished the job in a bout a half hour. They did a great job cleaning up the branches. Now we're able to rest a little easier knowing there's less of a likelihood that our power or cable will be knocked out by our tree. This was the 2nd time we used Tree Men Services. We were so happy the last time, we didn't hesitate to call them again!! The first time they cut down 2 trees and trimmed one to make room for a pool. This 2nd time we needed a large tree trimmed that overhung the house, garage and hot tub. There was a very tight space to work for the branches to fall. Mr Rodriguez gave me a great estimate to remove several large trees from our back yard. He and his men arrived with tons of equipment early the morning we had scheduled for the job and got right to work. They had removed seven trees and ground their stumps and had limbed up four more within four hours. They were mindful of our retaining wall and our house as they worked so as to prevent any damage.
