This is the company to use if you need tree removal. We recently moved into a house that had been vacant for a year after the elderly owner died. We have a wooded lot, and noticed that some of the trees next to the house, were leaning and hollow. Lester surveyed Monday afternoon, and scheduled removal of 11 trees (8 of which were more than 100 feet tall) for the next day. Lester was a pleasure to work with. He's very seasoned, explain the process, and provided a quote on the spot. I booked the service for the very next day. The crew of ~six arrived on time, with multiple vehicles and equipment, and the job took about 8 hours. When they left, you couldn't tell (except for the missing trees), that anything had been done. I think my yard and street were cleaner than when they arrived. When moving debris in my side yard, they also cleared trees that had previously fallen. As promised, they came back the next day and ground the stumps in my front yard. They have the expertise, the personnel and the equipment to do any job. Alan and Mike were very pleasant, answered my frequent questions, and it was a pleasure watching the process and meeting them. Their pricing was very reasonable. One last note, their office staff is incredibly kind and responsive. Gisselle even returned my call after hours. Highly recommend. Below is an example of the size of trees they removed. There were at least 5 similar truckloads removed. read more

I recently contacted North Raleigh Tree Service to have several very large Oak & Pine trees removed. To say this team is professional would be an understatement! Watching them remove trees was like looking at Swiss watch, every move planned and precisely executed. The crane operator worked with such precision that about half the development came out to watch. They were so impressed with the team's performance that 3 of them had trees removed before the crew left the area and several others got estimates for future tree work. They are professional and the pricing was very fair, all work was completed and the cleanup was outstanding. If you need tree work give them a call, you won't be disappointed. read more

The primary point of contention with them is regarding damage to my concrete driveway from their crane. I and two other neighbors hired them together to remove trees from our 3 yards. They told me they would use a neighbor's 2 driveways to park the crane, that they should be able to reach my trees from there. They never once spoke with me about backing crane down my driveway. (I would not have hired them had I been aware they were going to use my driveway, and would have hired someone to just climb and lower the trees in sections instead.) On the day of job, half way done with the work on three yards, they pulled crane down my driveway unannounced. They did not use mats to protect the concrete (already cracked in upper area) while backing down to house. Then they parked crane a yard from garage. Weight bearing supports were placed inches from concrete side steps less than a yard from the house and foundation. This is VERY irresponsible and unprofessional. Who just pulls a crane down someone's driveway without discussion in advance to highlight possible risks and simply to get permission!? As a result I have significant damage to my driveway over several areas, including close to the house, which will require expensive concrete repairs. Note: they drove their heavy Bobcat loaded with huge limbs up and down the unprotected driveway as well. They also trimmed 2 hardwood trees incorrectly, not as agreed. They removed far too many limbs from a maple, all on wrong side of tree. I had asked them to cut exactly ONE limb, the one hanging over roof. They did the opposite. And they didn't cut limbs hanging over roof on a poplar tree, which had been in our agreement. They did come back and remove the poplar limbs a few days later. (Side note- they also dragged many heavy limbs through flowerbed areas instead of the nearby driveway, damaging flowers and eroding the soil.) 3- After initially offering a token discount, which seemed like an admission of responsibility, they later refused to reduce price at all. They tried to make it seem like they did me a favor by coming back. Wrong--they came back to finish the incomplete job. And by that time I was aware of how badly their crane had damaged the driveway. Yet, they accepted no responsibility for this, and no reduction in price to offset my future repair expenses.. Toni S. read more

We were referred to them by a co-worker and had a very positive experience. Same day estimate and in two business days they were cutting down my trees for a reasonable price. Very courteous staff who went out of their way to protect our yard, and did an extra deep stump grind where we planned to build a shed. Can't thank them enough. read more

My son in law used North Raleigh Tree Service and had recommended them to me. I had 2 huge trees next to my house that needed to be removed as well as 2 massive branches from another tree. North Raleigh Tree Service is the best in the business in the RDU/Triangle area! Over the years, I have hired them on three separate occasions for tree removal, and they did a fantastic job each time. Very conscientious workers, great attention to detail, pleasantly receptive to special requests, painstakingly thorough in clean-up after the job, and all for a very reasonable price. I hope I never need a tree service again, but if I do, I wouldn't dream of calling anyone but North Raleigh Tree. read more

We received a prompt reply to our inquiry and a prompt estimate for service. We were surprised to find them at our home the following morning since we hadn't approved the quote yet - but we were going to approve and let them get to work. They had a number of workers on the job and completed the work very quickly and left our property free of debris. Note for future reference: You should really ask if they will trim what they can reach from the ground or if they will climb to do a thorough job. These are two very tall trees and probably needed some pruning higher than they could reach from the ground. read more

These folks respond quickly, are timely, and follow up. They had a problem with machinery and called me up to explain the delay. They were very fair with their pricing. I could not of been happier. I'm having them come back and do some stump grinding. I'm a small contractor and understand the challenges involved with this kind of business. I would hire them, again, in a heart beat! read more

Very professional group. I requested an estimate and had someone come out the next day. Very fair pricing and 5 guys who demonstrated a lot of experience removed a very large over hanging limb of an old oak tree without making a scratch to my manicured yard. Great job and wouldn't hesitate to hire again if Mother Nature needs some help keeping the trees healthy. read more

I contracted with them for storm cleanup for a set price. After doing half the job they came back 2 weeks later and wanted me to pay per hour for the rest of the job. Not at all what they told me to start with. The yard and driveway are still trashed. They took the large trees that they could sell and left the trash. read more

We had a large oak starting to uproot and leaning over the house. Positioned on a slope, a crane would be needed. We got a couple estimates from other companies that were a shock to the system. Kevin's estimate was much more reasonable and he prioritized us because of the potential damage if the tree fell onto the house. The North Raleigh Tree crew showed up the next morning with their crane and ample equipment to do the job right and efficiently. It was something to see. They were seasoned professionals who worked as a team to quickly remove our oak and clean up afterwards. On request for some firewood, they left pieces cut at the perfect length for me to split later. Very nice folks, too. This was the second time I used North Raleigh Tree and I highly recommend them. read more

I had some precut logs that I needed to have picked up. I contacted North Raleigh Tree Service and I got a visit same day with quote. They arrived the very next day to take them away and even cut an additional tree stump for me. The team did an outstanding job and will not hesitate to use them again and provide referrals. They were very professional and courteous. read more

I had three very large loblollies removed from my back yard and the guys North Raleigh Tree did a fantastic job - first rate! They quoted me a very reasonable price to have these three trees removed, were very professional, courteous, and quick to respond via email. Nothing was damaged, and they even protected the azaleas that were at the base at the trees. There is literally nothing bad about this experience. Without hesitation or second-thought, I will use them again and would recommend them to anyone looking for tree removal done the right way and at a reasonable price! read more

I had North Raleigh Tree Service take down a tree that a recent storm and wind took down beside my house. The crew arrived shortly before there designated arrival time. The crew looked over the tree first for the best way to remove it. The crew was professional and took great care to not damage my side walk with their crane. They left and cut several smaller pieces of limb for me to keep and even helped load some for a neighbor kid who wanted some bigger pieces for himself. The foreman listened to my requests. After the tree was cut up and removed, they blew the debris and raked up the remaining leaves leaving a clean yard behind. Their price was reasonable and they were professional in doing their work. I would use them again, which I have in the past, and would recommend their services that need to have trees removed. read more

I want to thank the entire team at N. Raleigh Tree for an excellent job removing many large pine trees from my backyard by crane. I sought out 5 different Tree removal company for estimates. N Raleigh Tree was timely from the start. They came out for an onsite estimate within a 1-2 week period. They were very competitively priced and have a crane that was able to reach over 100 ft. You will be hard pressed to find as good of a tree removal crew for the pricing and service they provide. While onsite the day of the tree removal, I asked for a few additional items to be done. They were very flexible and reasonable with pricing add-ons. In the end, they removed 10 large pine trees, 2 smaller trees and trimmed several trees within a 4 hour period. It was incredible site to watch how they removed trees by crane, processed the tree and hauled them away. Lastly, when the job was done the owner came to my door to ask if I was happy with the service provided. I am thankful I selected N Raleigh Tree and feel confident recommending them to others. read more

We had initially received an estimate from this tree service for cutting down a very large tree that was dying, and leaning dangerously towards our home. We also had dead limbs hanging over the house. My husband called them in advance of hurricane Florence to ask if there was any way they could come sooner, and they prioritized our tree and came out the next day. They were so professional, and worked quickly and efficiently. We were so grateful to have peace of mind during all the rain and wind that Florence brought. We would definitely use them again! We especially appreciate their concern for our well-being. read more

I have been using North Raleigh Tree for the past 10 years and always found them prompt for the arrival time and cleanup after the trees are down and the branches are chipped. Watching the team is facinating to see the coordination of each member of the team and what they are responsible for doing. Might just grow more trees to have them back in a few more years! :) read more

I contracted with North Raleigh Tree to take dow 5 rather large trees, all of which were very close to our house. The estimator showed up exactly on time, and gave us a quote that was far less than others. The crew showed up right on time, and got to work immediately. They were fascinating to watch, it is obvious that they all had their own job and knew it well. I do not know how much they pay the guy that was swinging among the branches 100 ft in the air, but it ain't enough! The trees were all down and cut as I had asked, the smaller branches were chipped and blown in the yard as I wanted, and all the small debris was raked up in about 3 hours. Amazing. They even took the time to smooth the gravel drive that got a little rutted from the equipment. They were all very careful and respected my property. I would definately use this Company again, and highly recommend that anyone needing tree service give them a call. read more

I chose NRTS based on their favorable Yelp reviews, but I didn't have the greatest experience with the crew that removed one tree and removed limbs from another in my yard. There were several things I took issue with. They drove the bucket truck up into my neighbor's yard AFTER asking and being denied permission. They either took or knocked down my TWC connection leading to house, and left the wire coiled and hidden in some shrubs. Internet was out for a couple days until I could schedule TWC to come reconnect. Lastly, they left several empty water bottles in both mine and neighbor's yard. I was scrambling to pick up left trash before my neighbor got home and discovered for himself. To the owner's credit, he called me to apologize after I reached out to crew foreman. I appreciated his intent, but I still feel like I paid big $$$ for less than mediocre service. I would not use North Raleigh Tree Service again. read more

We had a large tree that was split in half and leaning towards our neighbors house. We called North Raleigh Tree Service this morning because we wanted to have them come give an estimate as soon as possible. Our kids and our neighbors kids could be injured by the tree if it fell. The winds were high today and the tree was swaying a lot. North Raleigh Tree Service came out a few hours after our initial call. They saw how hazardous the tree situation was and cancelled one of their appointments in order to take our tree down quickly. We really appreciated the genuine concern and thoughtfulness that they gave us. They didn't have to cancel their other appointment, but they did it and it meant the world to us. read more

I hired North Raleigh Tree Service to take out about a dozen trees in my yard. We moved in a few months ago and our house had very large Pines that were close to the house. Also, we had a large Oak that was leaning over our back deck and roof. They sent a whole crew of workers and trucks here. They worked the whole day and by noon, I couldn't believe how many trees had already been taken down. I had called a few other tree companies prior to this and only one responded with a response of "we are very busy right now, we will send someone out next week". This happened a few weeks in a row and they eventually stopped calling. Not, North Raleigh Tree Service. The owner came out the same day and had a crew here the very next week. I seek value in the businesses I use and I really feel I got the most value for my money with North Raleigh Tree Service. Our yard looks great, we actually have a back yard now instead of our house being completely engulfed in forest. I love trees and we still have plenty but we have some breathing room now. read more

North Raleigh Tree Removal rocks!!!!!! These folks removed the largest oak in our neighborhood and it was only 15 ft away from our house. They took it apart surgically piece by piece in an orchestrated fashion. They did the same for 3 other large trees. They removed ever stick of wood and cleaned it up as if the trees were never there. Very fast, very cheap and extremely friendly. You guys rock!!! read more

I called North Raleigh Tree Service to get an estimate and Kevin was able to schedule an appointment within a few days. He arrived early (always a good sign) and was well prepared. He offered me estimates for two options (one for trees I knew had to come down in the front yard and a second for things I was considering in the back yard as well as pruning some ornamental trees). Both estimates were fair. We agreed on the work and he had a crew available to complete the job within a few days. The four workers were fast, neat, polite and tidy. There was no damage to my property and no mess left when they were done. Kevin was a very easy businessman to deal with and excellent about communicating and returning phone calls. I hold no reservations in recommending North Raleigh Tree Services. read more

Very impressed with the service and most of all communication. What really impressed me was the communication. When we first scheduled the appointment needed to be canceled which was not a problem since Kevin was upfront and gave me warning. That is all I ask. If you can't make it at least let me know so I'm not tracking you down. He rescheduled a week later and even let me know there was a problem with the log truck and he would be back that afternoon. Again fantastic because I would have been scratching my head if I just got home and saw a pile of logs there. The area where they removed the tree was cleaned and way less debris than I expected. Happy to use them again! read more

These guys were first rate. Did what they said, paid attention to detail and did it for less money than anyone else. North Raleigh Tree Service is awesome. I had ~15 trees taken out of my yard back in October 2015. I have come back to write this review now because I walk through my yard on a daily basis and am reminded of how professional Jerry and his crew were from start to finish. Absolute professionals, and did NOT try to up-sell me on anything. Highly recommended, and my neighbor used them directly after I did. These folks do it right. read more

Horrible, unprofessional company! I have no idea how they have so many good reviews. I made an appointment for an estimate. 5 minutes after the appointment, I received an email saying that it was cancelled. The second time I tried to make an appointment, I called the company 15 minutes after the appointment time. The rude lady said he was "on his way." After another half hour of waiting, I called again to ask what happened and she told me the same thing. I immediately told her to cancel it all together. I ended up using a different company that actually respected my time and appreciated a customer's business. read more
