A little over a year ago, these guys removed a number of trees from my neighbor's property and in the process damaged two of my trees including a 50 ft red oak and a smaller maple. I consulted an aroborist, and after giving the tree some time he came to the conclusion that the tree was not able to be saved. I asked Arbor Lawn to remove the tree free of charge. I could've asked for them to replace it, but I didn't. They told me that the company had changed ownership and all they could do was give me a discount. I accepted a 20% discount figuring it wasn't these people's fault as it happened under previous ownership, and this was likely the best offer I was going to get. Well, when they came out to remove the tree (that they killed, that I loved), the same guy that mortally wounded my tree in the first place shows up to do the job. My neighbor even recognized him. Despite having an entire open field to one direction of the tree for it to safely fall on, instead he sends the top of the tree falling the other direction damaging a newly planted red bud tree. I will never use or recommend Arbor Lawn. Their work crews are reckless. I honestly feel like I've been taken advantage of. read more

Arbor Lawn removed 2 large trees from our property on 5/24. In the process, they caused damage to our well which was located nearby. (it appears they backed against it with the backhoe) Once We discovered the issue, the team was apologetic and promised to compensate us for any damages. Its been more than 2 months now and still no compensation! Instead they sent us an email stating "we thought we had agreed to pay half of the $1600 repair bill. We weren't told about the well area and didn't know it was there. Splitting the repair cost with you seems fair." Sound fair to anyone else? Can you spot the well in the attached pictures? read more

Arbor came out and bid on cutting down some trees and pruning several others. The guys were professional and cleaned up the yard from any debris left behind. They pay attention to detail, especially when their are sprinkler lines that I wasn't aware of and brought that to my attention. They also included grinding the stumps for the cleaner look. John the owner is very responsive when called with any questions. I would recommend calling Terri at Arbor and get scheduled. read more

We recently had two large trees removed that were precariously close to our home. Our concern was that it would be a tricky removal as it was between our home and our neighbors. They arrived right on time and had an abundance of vehicles and equipment to handle the job. They were professional, courteous and cleaned the area of any debris from the removal and even cleaned the street where their equipment was located. We would highly recommend this company and we plan to have more work done by them in the future. read more

I can't speak to the service of this company. Why? Because they won't actually show up for the appointment to perform an estimate. We set up a time, they didn't show, we called back, they didn't show, we called back again and they were just rude. Good luck! read more

Arbor Lawn was recommended on my neighborhood listserve and I needed a really tall pine tree taken out so I decided to give them a try and it went great! Pros: They were willing to do an estimate without me having to be home (which is fine with me - the tree that needed to be taken down is in the backyard) which was more convenient for me. They had a great price compared to the other quote I received. They were quick and professional when they did the work. Cons: they were really busy and it took about 3 weeks before they could come and do the work (but it wasn't an emergency so that was fine). read more

Waste of Time We received a quote from Arbor Lawn in February. Here it is almost May and they have not cut down or trimmed one tree. What they did do, however, is cancel twice in 24 hours. Work schedules had been adjusted, plans had been made, and at the last minute both times they rescheduled with no explanation. Unprofessional and unreliable. Stay away. read more

I've used them in the past. Their work was ok but getting in touch with them, scheduling etc is a nightmare. I don't think I ever had them call me back ... I had to chase after them. Just not worth it. Find a company that actually cares about customer service. read more

After calling for a quote, you'll get weekly calls asking if you made a decision. Irritating as heck. We decided to go with them, and most of their crew was fine. One driver of the small construction vehicle drove way too fast for safety. The driveway is not a racetrack. The stump they left (that we wanted left) was not cut cleanly on top. They refused to fix it. As part of the quote, I asked for the chips from the pine trees, and the person doing the quote said "SURE!" The foreman on the job said "NO," but he said would return THE FOLLOWING WEEK with good chips. LIARS! When I called (it took multiple calls before she responded), the woman said there was a LONG LIST of people who wanted chips. No mention of when these chips might arrive. LIARS! We have a lot of trees. We'll never, ever, use them again. We prefer people who do not LIE and who respect the customer. read more

These guys were great! I was concerned my neighbors would be upset with all the disruption - instead they all commented on how efficient the crew worked and how well they cleaned up after. 5 stars thanks guys! read more

I received a bid and signed a contract with them to cut down (2) trees in my yard. After 3 months and 3 missed appointments they finally responded saying that they under bid the removal of my trees and decided they will not be removing our trees. This is a very poor way to handle your business and after many emails/calls this is the way they decided to handle their mistake. I would not recommend using them because even if the price is good, it doesn't mean anything if they don't actually show up. read more

We had two trees trimmed. They were here for 30 minutes and charged $550. I feel like we over paid, but we didn't get estimates from other companies. The work was OK but they obviously tried to get out of here as quickly as they could. They didn't even do everything on the estimate. They only cut branches lower on the tree. They did no shaping at all. read more

While I have no knowledge of the competency of Arbor Lawn's landscaping skills, I do know that I would never trust them with anything. One of their workers backed into my car while it was parked, did over $2,500 worth of damage, and fled the scene of the accident. They have been unresponsive to the police and my attempts to get their insurance information, however they did leave an incredibly unhelpful note on my car (the day after the accident happened) that said their insurance would be in touch with me. It has been over a week and we still haven't heard anything. read more

Saw the negative reviews on google search 6 ot of seven were five star on angies list. John quoted price,s for 5 homes on our street We had 11 huge pines in tricky locations completely removed. These guys are awesome !!!! Left only some wood chips behind no branches or debris . No damage and all in on days work. . John will work with you on any level and .on my sons yard took the timber left branches and stumps for a great price. They have the crew and equipment to grt the job done . Emailed me a solid quote and kept in constant contact on any changes in price. He also did not nickel and dime the price doing some extra small things at no charge. Highly reccomend them read more

Great crew. Took extra special care to make sure nothing happened to my house, my fence, my neighbors fence, and my new grass. 3 big trees were down and out with no sign they were ever there. They also made sure the neighborhood kids who were watching the process covered their ears before they started the chipper. Excellent service all around. read more

I got three bids for removing a large oak tree in my yard that had died over the winter. The tree was close to other trees, and could do damage to my fence and power line if not removed properly. Arbor Lawn was the low bid by a huge margin. I liked the fact that they had a bucket truck, unlike the other two bidders. And they sent me an insurance certificate within a couple of hours from my request. They came in with a large group of workers and plenty of equipment. They even cut some dead limbs from an adjacent tree while they were at it. Within two hours they had removed the tree and were ready to be paid. The pasture was a little battered, but clean. The people I dealt with were professional and friendly. If I ever need to have another tree removed in the future, I will call Arbor Lawn. read more

The crew arrived promptly and took out 2 HUGE split oak trees and a diseased pine tree with ease. They ensured my lawn and property was safe during the process. They also came in at 30% of the estimate that was given by another service - I would recommend them 100% read more

Not only did the respond immediately to my need for an estimate after a tree fell on my car during hurricane Michael, but they came out almost immediately gave me an estimate that was better than four other companies I called. They didn't take advantage of my need to get my car out and my driveway blocked by overcharging. They were out the very next day, were very professional and safe. Quickly took down the tree without snapping the Internet wire that was entangled in the tree. They did such great work we had them take another tree while they were here and our neighbors had them take three more. I cannot recommend their work highly enough. We will certainly be inviting them back for more work. Thank you all so much!! read more

After five successful years of using this company, they neglected to finish a small job and refuse to finish or return phone calls. I guess the bigger they grow, the worse the service gets. They were quick to cash the check. I've now filed with BBB since they don't want to come finish up a job that might take an extra 15 minutes to finish, as was outlined in their estimate. Sad. read more

They arrived early the Forman wanted to use heavy equipment on my driveway which was already cracked I explained to him that when the gentleman came out to give the estimate I instructed no heavy equipment no bobcats no nothing soon after that he sort of just left I was pretty upset. The owner called me and said he would forfeit the project. This made me very angry I got up early I made this reservation two weeks ago , the neighbors had cleared their driveways. The owner came out and figured out a way to do. He sent his 15 guy crew out after lunch and they did the job to perfection. Freddy the climber was incredible. The owner was on site and checking the work. John the owner took a bad experience and turned it around. His work was excellent and his crew welled trained in their art. read more

Horrible! If I could post pictures of the extremley inappropriate and rude things that the owner said. All the reviews on here and google say the same thing- dishonest, rude, and then duck your calls! So unprofessional. Had a man curse numerous times, and call me names... Just sad to see this behavior at a professional level. read more

Wow, I'm so surprised by the bad reviews, and almost didn't call them because of the negative ones. However, my neighbor highly recommended them so I called for a quote. They made an appointment and came out when they said they would. We had previously gotten 5 or 6 quotes and they ranged from $575 to $1375 to remove one tree and do the exact same work... quite a range! This company came in at only $475, so I'm glad we called them for one last estimate! They did a great job and cleaned up all of the debris. Will not call anyone but this company in the future. Oh, and the lady who takes the calls and schedules work is super nice! read more

After a bad storm left me with lots of broken limbs and about 4 or 5 downed trees. I was in need of a tree service. I searched Google and found Arbor Lawn Tree Service. I cannot say enough good things about John and his staff at Arbor Lawn. The owner is very knowledgeable and took the time to answer all my questions. They were timely, responsible and did an amazing job.The crew that came out to work were on time and very polite. The work was done quickly and efficiently. I'm so glad that I found them and I will definitely use them in the future. I've recommended them to several of my friends who have been just as pleased as I was! read more

Our experience was great! We saw the company logo and phone number on a truck in our neighborhood when Arbor Lawn & Tree were working on another job. We decided to give them a call and are so ever thankful we did. Arbor offered the best competitive quote for the same job that others were charging almost double (and that did not include grinding the stumps with others). We called and were on their schedule and the job done in less than a week. We had hickory, oaks and walnuts trees of various sizes taken down. They finished the entire job and left our home and yard clean and intact. My husband was impressed and I in awe compared to what other companies had offered. We asked about other items and appreciated the the owner gave objective recommendations and saved us money by not suggesting we add on unneeded services. We've seen others reviews and have to say we had no problems and a great experience. Arbor is definitely worth the call. We highly recommended Arbor Lawn and Tree Service of the Triangle. Paid these guys 1K to remove 10 leyland cyprus trees back in late winter. Crew turned my yard into a mud pit, splashed mud on the side of house, left debris. Foreman, said he'd be back in the spring to aeororate and throw down some of my fescue. Have called twice and not heard back from these bums. The manager of our HOA will get an ear full for the referral. read more

We went with Arbor Lawn to remove and trim a few trees on our property, because our neighborhood was using them and the price was right. However, you get what you pay for. They damaged a post on the railing of our house, and they over-trimmed one of our trees and put it into shock (it is an evergreen tree and it lost all of its leaves). My wife and I have been in touch back and forth with the company about coming back to repair the post for 2 months now, and it has yet to happen. There is always some reason they can't come out. They have a phone service who answers the phone, so that you never actually speak directly with the company. They also have no listed address so there's no other way to get in touch with them. They have stopped responding to our phone calls and emails, so I am pretty sure we are out the money for the post and we have since had to get another tree trimmer out to our property to fix some of the damage they have done to our trees. If the price seems too good to be true it probably is. Lesson learned! read more
