Reviews were very mixed, but this was a creperie in the area that was open on a weekend, which narrowed the field significantly. We have some other favourites in Paris, but were staying near Opera, and didn't want to travel just for lunch, so decided to give it a go. We made a booking for lunch, and arrived just as they opened. Agreed that this place is tiny, with maybe a dozen tables, fairly close together. We didn't have any problems with service, I presume it was the owner/cook who served us, and while we weren't BFFs by the end of the meal, she was pleasant, and tolerant of my rubbish attempts at speaking French. We each got a savoury gallette and a sweet crepe, and all were great. Wasn't sure the lunch special would be in effect on weekends, but we were pleasantly surprised that it was. We ended up with several glasses of cider, which was a very nice treat. Loved the buckwheat gallettes, and tried the house caramel and chocolate crepes-- we got one of each and shared, and those flavours together were great. If you're looking for a uniquely French experience in a pretty touristy part of town, this is a great option. read more

Tried to come here 30 minutes before closing on Wednesday night and was scolded and yelled at by the woman. She kept shooing us out yelling that they were closed when a table still had menus and were browsing them. Second attempt on a Friday night we show up and the woman is closing up shop saying,"I'm closed! I close at 22:00!!!! No more!" It was only 21:15....if you leave/close at 21:30 every day don't say you close later and then be rude to people who want to give you business. The most amazing crepes I've had in my many visits to France. They offer a variety of crepes from traditional sweet to savory. I opted for a basic maple syrup crepe with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and it was beyond my expectations. Soft, chewy with a little crispness on the edges. The vanilla ice cream was rich with cream and vanilla beans. The service was fast and overall superb. I will come back over and over again. read more

What a great find! A very quaint place with limited seating but looks the part, and happy to say plays the part, and well. There were not many out of tourists there either. A slight language barrier at first, but he did an nice job helping us through the menu. I saw a lot of prior comments on the chef who is also the waitress, and we her attitude. She did have a waiter, but she came poked her head out a couple of times but seemed ok. We beat the local lunch crowd by around 10 minutes as it filled up pretty quick by 12:45 Let's get to the good stuff. The food was incredible! My wife and I split the 3 cheese and the beef with ementhaller(sp) which was also excellent. My kids split a desert crepe and cheese and meat one which they loved. This is a quaint place tucked away in a lively part of Paris. It's very mom-and-pop, the staff consists of the chef/owner and a waiter. For all anglophone tourists (like us) wondering, yes the waiter speaks English. We ordered the savory crêpes for lunch and a bottle of cider that paired very well. They were delicious and very filling, and would have ordered sweet crêpes if we had any more room in our stomachs. The waiter and owner are very friendly; we all had a nice conversation about us visiting Paris, being bilingual, and my attempts at speaking French (lol). My only regret is that we are not staying longer else we would definitely visit this place again. I plan on coming back the next time I come back to Paris. read more

I've been living in Paris now for 4 months and my French roomate took me here after a movie. It was such a quaint, nonParisian place. Very homey. Relaxed. I felt right at home as though I was eating at a Creperie in Brettagne. The crepes were amazing! I had leek, emmenthal and egg well cooked and it was perfection. Had a little side salad and for dessert had the caramel au buerre sale w/chantilly, all homemade there. We hesitantly visited this place after reading some of the reviews about the owner. We walked into this creperie and there were 4-5 small tables. All were full except 1. The owner looked stressed at her full cafe. While the owner wasn't overly friendly when we walked in, I didn't think she was hostile. She doesn't smile like Americans do, but this is the culture of Paris. We attempted to speak French and was given our first smile by the owner. She speaks English, but you can tell she is not overly confident with it. I'm certain that is why she mainly uses French. Just like us Americans use English. Do not mistake this as her being angry or crabby. Things to keep in mind. The place is small, so don't be too loud. Be respectful and you will be respected back. Be ready for a wait. So many good things to eat in Paris. So little time. So much confusion. We took advice from Yelp and found Creperie Traditionnelle for traditional Breton crepes. It was within walking distance and had rave reviews. When we got there it wasn't open yet for dinner. We patiently waited outside and when the lady flipped the sign to open we walked in. Get ready for a true French experience. You will get it at Creperie Traditionnelle. It will help greatly if you speak French. The lady does speak and understand English but will only speak to you in French. She gestured for us to sit at a table and when we sat at the wrong table, she went off on us in French and did a range of hand motions. What a way to break the ice and make your customers feel unwelcomed. We were confused and it felt like she was cursing us out. We then moved all the way into the back corner and all was right in the world again. Let it be known this is a tiny creperie. You will be most comfortable here if you are thin and not carrying bulky bags or heavy coats. We ordered two savory crepes made with the buckwheat batter. One was ground beef, swiss cheese, and onion. The other was mushrooms, bacon cubes, heavy cream, and onions. Both were delicious. The ground beef one was a little dry though. After the savory crepes we both ordered a sweet one for dessert. The lady looked at us like wow you guys have an appetite. Yes we do! We love food and had been walking a ton in Paris. Let it be known that no matter what you eat at Creperie Traditionnelle for your main course, you have to get a sweet crepe. It's absolutely divine. We got a salted caramel one (light and sweet) and one nutella and jam one since they were out of fresh strawberries. The crepes are absolutely authentic. If you aren't planning on getting dessert, you might want to pair your savory crepe with a salad. The crepes aren't so filling. We've had a lot of crêpe all over Paris, we didn't find this place anything special. We tried savory and sweet, just ok.

Love this quiet little shop (as opposed to the fast-food style craperies nearby). Cozy and inviting, nice, "lived-in" decor with French-style art on every wall. I ordered the chocolate blanc and pomme crapes. Soft, delicate, and delicious. Much larger than I was expecting. The white chocolate melts to a liquid and is not overpowering or overly-sweet. The coffee was ok but host/waitress/cook was very pleasant. I loved being the only customer around brunch-time, but they were about half-full of customer by the time we left. You can tell the owner takes pride in their work, and that it's their passion to offer a quaint, traditional experience. The banana crapes were also delicious and filling. The lady there didn't speak English, but we were just fine. Saw a family at the window debating whether or not to come in and I gave them a thumbs up. Super adorable, quaint little creperie with delicious crepes. What more could you want? We had dinner across the street at a Vietnamese restaurant and saved a little room for dessert afterwards. My husband ordered the sugar and butter crepe and I had the one with nutella. Both were scrumptious. We also had coffee and tea, which were also excellent. The very nice woman who served us (maybe the owner?) was the only one there running the shop. She was both the server and crepe maker. Visiting the opera house we decided to take a quick stop to have lunch here. The place is small and unassuming. The options on the menu seemed endless. I was so indecisive I had a build you own type with onion mushrooms and Swiss cheese. My husband had one of the menu items which was good but I actually liked mine a little more. I give it a four because I didn't really like the buckwheat flour. We had the salted Carmel crepe and the mint ice cream crepe for dessert. Talk about indulgence! They were both very good. read more

I was here in February 2016. Just found this place from Yelp and thought to give it a try. It was off a small side street and this place was tiny. We walked in when they first opened and 2 ladies were running this place. It was very quaint with cute furniture and great service. We wanted to order one savory and one sweet crepe so we can try both types. We first had the salted caramel crepe, which was in some secret homemade sauce. That was most delicious crepe I've ever had in my life. If I can I would have 10 more, I would!! Then we had the ham/cheese with egg on top. It was very good. It was made out of buckwheat which made it more "stiff" and not mushy like I'm used to. I would highly recommend this place to get a real french creperie experience w/o the heavy tourist traffic. read more

Creperie Traditionnelle is a wonderful find. A little off the beaten path, and tiny. The wine selection is quite limited, but they offer ciders that seemed quite popular. But really, you're here for the crepes. Try the savory varieties. I had one with steak and onions. Wonderful. Dessert crepes are even better! We stopped in here after looking on Yelp for a creperie in walking distance from our hotel. We were a family of 8, which was somewhat large for this little hole-in-the-wall restaurant. The owner/chef was SUPER friendly and nice to us even though there was a language barrier. The food was great. Buckwheat crepes at affordable prices? Yes please. Also, the dessert crepes were awesome. Everyone ordered a crepe and we got a few sweet ones to share. So good we went twice! We wanted to eat savory and dessert crepes since my mother in law had never had savory ones. It was May 1 in Paris, so lots of things were closed / slow. Arriving late, the pleasant lady (owner, waitress, and cook) didn't speak any English, but the menu items were listed in multiple languages. The savory crepes were quite good. We had a bottle of the Bretagne cider, which is low alcohol and pleasant. I recommend the desert crepes with the homemade caramel or homemade chocolate. Simply delicious.
