View of the deck, pool, 'yurts' and beach from main building.
    Christina B.

Our family had a good time at Crystal Lake. Here's a brief run down: The advantages: - It was very affordable. We rented a cabin for $85/night for all of us. What a deal! The Leinies on tap in the bar were just $2 too. - Everyone was friendly and helpful. We had just come from the Dells where the welcome was a bit cold due to the sheer masses of people. -The swimming pool is huge and well maintained. They even have a lifeguard on duty. - The sandy beach also has a lifeguard & has a trampoline and other fun toys to keep kids busy. - You can rent a pontoon boat and/or golf cart. - There are other activities too like mini golf, Skyball, volleyball, playground. Disadvantages: - The hot tub was broken & we missed it due to chilly temps. - Our cabin's (cabin A) deck faced the parking lot so it wasn't very private or nature-y. - Cabins A & B are actually in the same building with a thin door separating them. When our neighbors talked in normal voices, we could hear them clearly. This was annoying the night they decided to stay up until 1am. We complained the next day & front desk staff said we should have told them as 11pm is curfew. Cabin C or A-Frame seem to be individual buildings so maybe choose those... - Overall the cabins, campground, restrooms, etc were clean however the windows hadn't been cleaned in a long time. I opened one to let in fresh air in our cabin but came across a ton of spiders so quickly closed it back up... -A fresh coat of paint would be good. Especially to the cabins' exterior, mini-golf, deck. All in all, we had a very good few days and would certainly go back, especially given the low budget. My 8 year-old says everything was his favorite :)

The beach. Sectioned off area of the lake for swimming with a bunch of anchored rafts/slides/trampoline/etc out there.

We rented two of the cabins and the amount of space inside was perfect for this family of 4! Each kid got their own loft, we had a bed with wonderful space. The number of things to do while there was perfect for the ADHD kids and the ability to sit and watch them do ALL THE THINGS was perfect for this tired momma! We played mini-golf at 6:45 am, horseshoes at 6:54 am, and playground at 7 am to just start all over again (multiple times)! Definitely plan your drinking schedule with the fact that the bathroom is not in the cabin but still close! We had s'mores on the fire pit and two nights of BBQ! We even swam in the lake and the kids LOVED the inflatables (even the 40-year-old fat dudes got out there). The owners were incredible and friendly. Really can see that they care and have built a wonderful community. We will be back!

We had no phone/internet service the whole time we were there, even though it is posted that they offer it. There was a sign posted that wifi works 30 ft from the office, did not work on any of our devices even at the dining area right next to the office. If you are looking for a nice, quiet, relaxing camping trip DO NOT go here over the weekend. The people that own their own go carts are reckless and irresponsible especially the teens that go way too fast in between the sites. There were a lot of children around and it was nerve wracking watching these people go so fast. They have tons of amenities and some are included, but most cost extra. They have a well stocked store, prices are high! They have showers in public areas, but they charge $ to use them. We had a scary incident with our 12 yr old daughter. She was outside with her friend when two teenage boys approached them on our campsite with scary clown face mask and ski masks on. I did mention it to management who said she would check with security, whom we never saw the whole time we were there. Of course, security never saw anything like that because teens are teens. The VIP sites are nice and level with a table, grill and a cement slab. Be warned there are no onsite sewer hook ups at the individual sites. There is a dump station that you can use by the office. They also have a truck that will come to your camper and empty your tanks for a small fee ($20). If you stay 4 nights it is complimentary. If we were to ever stay again, it will not be on the weekend.

The owners have put so many very thoughtful touches and it is crystal clear that they are looking to help your family build a lifetime of wonderful memories here. So many amenities I hardly know where to begin... The road into their expansive property is perfect and looks brand new. You pass by the 3 beach volleyball courts, the horseshoe pits, you pass by the stocked fishing pond, the heated pool, pavilion, fully stocked store and main office complete with snack bar including pizza, ice and firewood. Don't forget to check out the massive inground trampoline or all of the various inflatable water toys/attraction (slides, bounce house, merry go round, etc). Canoe, paddleboards, and kayaks available. They even have golf carts available for rental. Clean bathrooms and showers (coin operated showers), multiple dump stations, 300 rv sites with 30amp hook up's with water. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring and plenty of room to offer pull through service. A few cabins are available for rent but I imagine those book out quite some time in advance. Laundry facilities and WiFi. Now, let's be realistic people. This campground is hundreds of acres out in the middle of nowhere. You're not going to be streaming ANYTHING. But then again, you're not out at a family campground to be surfing. There's no cell reception on any carrier so everyone is jamming their measly 3bps WiFi system. You're just going to be able to squeak out the occasional text or email. Just enough to check in on those you love and vice versa. If you need something more than get yourself a WeBoost or similar product and stop complaining. This place is immaculately maintained and it is clear to see why so many people come back year after year. If we lived in Wisconsin our family would book this place long-term for the whole season. It's that good. A special thanks to Taylor who made the after hours check in and set up a breeze and who's great attitude was such a pleasure to see at various times during our stay.

Dear Cedar Hills Community,…read more Please help me spread the word! You may or may not be aware of the situation that happened on campsite #9, well known as the "golf course", and what happened to the couple that purchased and renovated the campsite (fully remodeling the whole camper) Let me tell you... I had the pleasure of meeting them at Cedar Hills and watching the transformation of their campsite Mid-September Dennis & James (Jimbo) Sohol sold the camper to a woman named, Tami. This quickly became her dream! And Zak helped by gutting the moldy camper as it was severely damaged by mice infestation, repairing way more than they expected with water damage but flipping the camper and making it look amazing! Well conveniently after the camper was almost complete Dennis changed his mind and said the camper isn't for sale anymore!!! WHAT! At Cedar Hills Halloween party Dennis pulled Zak aside and told him the camper wasn't for sale anymore he requested receipts and would reimburse for the bldg materials & the $1,000 down payment. but he would not pay for labor for their time!!! It was a total of $2,088.71 I know so many people at Cedar Hills stopped by to see the campsite, ask about the golf course, they worked hard as they were so excited to enjoy the newly remodeled camper and view! Tami & Zak gave Dennis receipts and he has been going back and forth with them saying he doesn't remember his conversations, constantly changing his mind on what he says!! I stopped by the campsite to see their progress a few weeks ago and they surely turned that campsite around. They would "light up" as they showed you everything they had done. It didn't even look the same as it had prior! All of the neighbors were excited and so many people were happy at Cedar Hills to hear about the renovation! There was a lot of talk if they were still going to let people use the golf course! This breaks my heart even more listening to this story so I want to start a Go Fund Me Page to get their $2,088.71 back (they have receipts for everything!) Please please please pass this around Cedar Hills and let's come together as a community and help Tami & Zak get their money back!!!! Shame on you Dennis! I have decided that I cannot go back to Cedar Hills ever again!! This story was too sad for me and my friends to learn about after we saw what they did to the campsite! I have included a few before & after photos that they shared with m

Pretty much had the pool to ourselves on Thursday, but it was pretty busy around noon on Saturday, which is to be expected. We spent about 12 hours total in the pool area throughout our day. They also have a basketball court and a volleyball court, mini golf (for an additional charge) and a small arcade area. They also have two bars and food available to purchase. You can eat there, get it to go, or have it delivered to your campsite. Drinks were priced cheaper than they are at our local bar back home. They also had different activities going on throughout the weekend. If you download their app, they will send you a notification 15 minutes before any events. Campsites are pretty close together, but we enjoy meeting new people, so that wasn't an issue for us. Also, some people want a quiet campground, and I wouldn't say this is necessarily one. There were a lot of different groups of people hanging out pretty late and having a good time. Again, not an issue for us, but something that should be noted for those that want quiet campsite. We did not use the showers or bathroom facilities often, but they were pretty clean anytime I went in there. Campground is also animal friendly.
