The initial service was impeccable, which is why I decided to return. I'm giving two stars out of grace for that first visit. Unfortunately, my second experience with the exact same item was disappointing. When I picked up my comforter, I noticed small specks of lint scattered across it. I brought this to the manager's attention, and while she insisted she personally handled my item and attempted to remove the lint, that explanation didn't align with the final result. If the issue couldn't be resolved, I should have been notified before leaving--not after I had to point it out myself. I did receive a refund, which I appreciate, but I genuinely wanted this to work. It seemed like the manager had already made up her mind that nothing further could be done, and there was no real effort to try to resolve the issue. At that point, I simply asked for my item back so I could take it somewhere that handles items with more care and attention to detail. It honestly made me question whether my comforter was mixed in with others during the process, especially since I take great care in maintaining it, including regularly steam disinfecting it at home. What was also frustrating was that instead of focusing on my concern, the manager began explaining how other customers' items can come in, as if I was expected to sympathize. My only concern was the condition of my item. Based on this experience, I would recommend keeping it simple here--stick to everyday dry cleaning. I would not suggest bringing larger bedding items like comforters or duvet covers, as the quality and attention to detail may not be consistent.

It was about 7 weeks out from the wedding, and I couldn't wait any longer. I found Fashion Center Alterations after another place I called was booked out up until the day of the wedding itself. Luckily for me it was walking distance, but in the hot summer sun, it felt a little more than walking distance I walked in and I felt like I was in an old ballet studio in the room where all the hemming takes place and costumes are stored. Mae was very kind, and estimated the dress would be done the date I needed. It was a pleasant surprise that she got it done even earlier!! Mae is a cute Filipina Lola (grandma) that has no filter... she says things as it is - this is definitely a cultural thing. I was sweaty when I tried on this dress walking back to pick it up, and she lightly said as she was zippering me, "you are holding onto water today" which could've meant sweat or bloat haha. She then modeled me like a fashionista and told me how to pose (see attached images), which made me smile. Though I wish it the dress was also steamed for the price I paid, I was in a desperate time and she fulfilled my dress hemming needs as bridesmaid.
