Excellent hemming job on a bridesmaid dress, and it only took a week! Very reasonable pricing too.

Awesome customer service, care of my garments especially St John pieces. I don't mind driving from Maryland to Virginia for there services.

Disappointed with the service today. I came in for a quick sleeve alteration that the seamstress kindly agreed to do, but the man at the front desk was very disrespectful about her 'wasting time' with me. I decided to leave and will not be back! read more

I've only known this place since it's been under current management. The new owners do an excellent job. I've had both tailoring and laundering done and everything has always turned out great. read more

I've sent Pentagon Row Cleaners my whole uniforms and suit set for alteration and they have done an AMAZING job! They were so knowledgable with materials and fits and now I look French & Italian fitted in my suits and coats! After trying a few places around Arlington...THIS is the place to go to for a job done right! read more

Negative experience twice. Ruined material of my cashmere sweaters and shirt. May have used water instead of dry cleaning solvent even though I paid for dry cleaning. Seems to have no idea how to work with delicate materials. Beware. read more

A number of years ago when unhappy with a local dry cleaners, I found what was then Crystal Cleaners. They have been nothing but exceptional! The quality of dry cleaning, removing unremovable stains, and having items ready on time. They're also a very nice husband and wife team. With the Crystal City Underground shops closing by the end of 2024, I feared they would close. In fact, like the Phoenix they rose again in a new, better location, and a new name -- Pentagon Row Cleaners. As long as I'm in the area, I plan to use Pentagon Row Cleaners and encourage others to do so too! read more

Top notch establishment! Took 7 suits there for tailoring and they did an outstanding job. Highly recommend this place for cleaning and tailoring needs! read more

SO many good things to say about this place. They took all the stains out, all the fuzz balls out, and brought pleats back to life as best as they could. I couldn't be more grateful for the owner and their kindness from the moment you walk in the door. I highly recommend the dry cleaning services, but also the tailoring. Great value and work! read more

Pentagon Row Cleaners is (as of 2024) under new management; my comments pertain to the new management, which moved from a previous location. I have been going to this dry cleaner for years because their work and their tailoring is absolutely phenomenal! They're so good that when the new management moved to the Pentagon Row location this year, I followed them. Most recently they restored a wool suit that had been stained, and their tailoring has allowed me to salvage quite a few pieces of clothing. They clean my suits flawlessly every time--even though I usually request same-day service--and over the years, not a single piece has been lost. I give them 6 stars on the Yelp 5-star scale! read more

So as a dry cleaner this place is insanely expensive, like i look at the people who go there and think "are you millionaires? do you not know cheaper dry cleaners exist?" and once i was like "maybe its amazing and worth it" and guess what, it was really just run of the mill and unexceptional in the world of cleaning. BUT where they shine is their tailor- she is *amazing* and i mean *amazing*- her prices run from "fair" to "this is a tad more than i want to pay but i know she will do a great job, so i will deal with it." And honestly, she has never let me down and I have thrown a lot her way, from indian clothes to moroccan kaftans to hemming jeans and pants and dresses (at 5'2 even petite clothes need to be hemmed for me :) She is pretty fast, there is a changing room for you to try things on and she is easy to communicate with. I highly recommend this place for alterations. read more

They're under new management. The very dirty bathroom rugs we submitted came out pristine. The dry cleaning quality was excellent--stains were removed completely. All in all, this is a marked improvement from the prior cleaners. read more

Disrespectful staff, made me wait for service and didn't want to help with a simple alteration. Please STAY AWAY!!

Typically 24-48 hour turnaround and best prices I've found anywhere. Excellent service, highly recommend.

I guess the honeymoon had to end at some point. The doubts first crept in about a month ago when I picked up a skirt that was still dirty. Then, the night before my husband's grandmother's 93rd birthday party, I was stunned to discover that the dress I was planning to wear hadn't been cleaned. I don't mean clean well, I mean clean at all; the stains were from things I eat all the time (very sloppily, obviously) and would have come out easily. I had to make at least one attempt at saving the relationship, and I'm glad I did. Called at 8 am to ask that the dress be cleaned again, dropped it off at 8:45, and picked it up at 10. My faith hasn't been restored completely, but I have hope, at least for now, that we can work through our problems. read more

I have been going to this place since it opened since it so close to my apartment. Two weeks ago I dropped off my mother's jeans to be hemmed. I walked in, showed the jeans and asked how much it would cost. The lady said $15, which I paid. When my mother brought the jeans home a week later, I was shocked to see that they hemmed the jeans as they would normal pants. Mom does not speak English, so said nothing but was very sad that the jeans looked horrible. I went back to talk to the seamstress. She said that she asked me which hemming I wanted and that I told her I did not want the jeans hemming. Which is not true. I did not even think they would hem Levi's as they would wool pants. We never had this discussion. She never told me that was separate price for jeans hemming. The lady said she'd talk to the manager and that I'd need to come back in two days, she kept the jeans. I went back today. The seamstress just made the stitch narrower but the jeans still do not look like jeans anymore. A gentleman to whom I tried to talk, which I presume is the owner, told me that they did not guarantee the quality because they cannot find the same thread - he did not even try to understand what was going on and left to deal with another customer. So I lost the $15 and what I paid for mom's jeans. The seamstress just said she was sorry and waited for me to leave. read more

Had my comforter cleaned here, and $40 later I received my comforter back with much of the stitching destroyed. I pointed this out to them and they offered to fix it. Once they finished I received an incredibly amateur repair job. I practically paid $40 to destroy my comforter. I've had to purchase a new one. Needless to say, I will never return to this cleaners. read more

I should have listened to the reviews. This is the worst cleaners I've ever used. My comforter is completely destroyed. There are multiple stains all over the comforter. The diagonal stitching is ripped in several locations. The stuffing is bunched, not smooth like it should be. They are extremely expensive. Do not use them. Zips can do a better job for a third of the price!! read more

I created a yelp account for the sole purpose of documenting my experience at Pentagon Row Cleaners yesterday. I have been a customer for over 10 years and I will not give one more dime to this establishment. I dropped off my dry cleaning on a Saturday morning before 930AM to ensure I can receive same day service. When I came back to pick up the dry cleaning at around 5PM, I noticed a big 20% off sign on the window and that the receipt I received did not include the discount. I ask the older Asian lady why I hadn't received the discount and she lies and says - oh the discount should have been applied when you dropped off in the morning. If that's the case, that's your employee's fault and not mine. I didn't see the sign in the morning when I dropped off my clothes. If you have a sign up that applies to all customers for all types of service, then you should be responsible for applying the discount. The customer should not have to tell you to apply it. So after I tell the lady that there's no mention of when the discount has to be applied on the sign, she then lies again and tells me it does not apply to same day service. Again, this is nowhere on the sign. As I've been a customer for well over 10 years, I've seen the sign before and it has always been automatically applied. The lies you told today will have me taking my business elsewhere. I'm not sure if the 20% "sale" is a sign of decreases in sales, but either way, blatantly lying to customers will have you going out of business. Do better! read more

Fair prices, quality cleaning and repairs. Did a great job with a tiny hole in the back of one my polo shirts. Have also sewn on several buttons for me and they have stayed on since. read more

Dry cleaner located in Pentagon Row next to World Market. The staff is pretty friendly and they do same day dry cleaning if you get your items in early and request same day service. Prices are a little higher than most other dry cleaners, but the location is convenient and they do a good. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. Exorbitant prices and HORRIBLE customer service! Ruined my dress shirt with a huge rip and said that I brought it in that way. When you consider that neither I, my wife nor the person accepting my shirt noticed this HUGE rip it sort of strains credulity. So, in summary: chargehigh prices and then blame the victim of their mistakes to avoid any liability for that mistake. Go ANYWHERE else. Beating your shirts against a rock in the Potomac is just as likely to get your shirt clean and undamaged as Pentagon Row Cleaners! read more

Pentagon Row Cleaners - Huge rip that I allegedly "made, "according to the rude staff member - Sewing & Alterations Near Me - Arlington, Virginia

Pros: * Friendly service * quick turnaround, always on time * Have always been very pleased with the tailoring services. * conveniently located * in 3 years, have never had an item damaged Cons: * On the pricey side * sometimes stains do get missed * lost the removable cuff buttons to a blouse once read more

Very good cleaning, fast, efficient, and the clothes came on time. No rips or any damage was don't to the clothing, I'll be returning here for more cleaning. Highly recommend them. read more

$11 to clean a plain black dress? Without any embellishments? *Politely puts Tahari dress back in timelessly elegant Whole Foods bag, walks out* The dry cleaners in and around P. City (major side-eye to Kim's Tailoring, who I had to fire recently) have lost their minds, and I refuse to indulge them in their nonsense. read more

I called Pentagon Row Cleaners to see what they're estimated quote was to hem (just shorten the length of) a bridesmaid dress. They told me it would be around $20-45. When I went in, they told me it would be $65! I thought that was outrageous and asked why, and they said it was because my dress has 3 layers. The three layers are VERY THIN and it's nothing complicated. Most bridesmaid dresses have 2-3 layers anyways. I knew it was a complete rip off but I had no choice because my car broke down and the wedding was the following weekend. All the other bridesmaid I talked to said theirs cost around $15-20. On top of rippig you off, the lady that works at the register and answers the phone is completely rude. She yelled at me and gave me an attitude even though I was polite the whole time. My friend went there to hem her pants, and she told me she had a similar experience as well. Horrible experience - I will never go back to them again. read more

Having worked at a dry cleaner in my youth, I have to admit that I am not impressed with their service. I think they abuse their privilege of being located on Pentagon Row, next to two TDY filled employees with dry cleaner allowance. It is very expensive for the quality of work. This place does their job but their attention to detail is not so stellar. Also, if you get your shirts "boxed" it will come out wrinkled. read more

Just moved to Pentagon City and have started to use this place. One missing button on one shirt in maybe 10 visits. This place is way too pricey for what you get. The place I use to go to in Navy Yard charged 99 cents a shirt, this place hovers around $1.50. I need a cheaper, more reliable option. read more

Medicore at best, often poor, this time is the last straw. They lost 5 of 6 buttons off my girlfriend's suit, then would not own up to it. "It came in like that" is all they would say, which is not true. No relief, no discount, no admission of guilt. They skate by on their location, and this is not the first time we've had problems. I recommend you don't go there. read more

Ask for creases in the sleeves. Ain't gonna happen. I can crease my own sleeves so that's really not a big deal. The bigger deal is that one of the ladies in this place is so rude you can taste it. Walk in and she's immediately pissed! Ask her a question and she's double pissed. Won't be going back again. In a world where dry cleaners are ubiquitous, they shan't get my business (old English), lol. I'll walk the additional blocks in the freezing cold or tropical heat on general principle alone. These folks don't know me. Who is she you may ask? Don't know, but she's the only lady from Europe who works there. Heavy accent. Tell her she lost me at hello. One star is because they cleaned my clothes. Wish I read the other reviews. I predict this place goes under in a year. read more

$17.00 to get a dress cleaned! I asked why it costs so much? They said because it is long and fancy. The dress is plain polyester, 3/4 length and has two small wooden disks on it. $17.00 to clean the dress is far too much money. read more

I've been using them for almost three years and have had no problems. I have a tendency to get stains on my blazers and they always get them clean. They are courteous and professional. read more

My prices here are high but nothing outrageous considering the area and convenience. However, after using this dry cleaner for several years, I have given up on them. I've had over half a dozen nice work dresses come back with huge parts of the hem undone. A few of them were several years old so it's somewhat understandable at first, but I buy pretty high quality work dresses so it shouldnt be happening this often, particularly with my new dresses. What I find most frustrating is that they don't fix them or alert me that they need to be fixed. Why send me home with a clean dress that I can't wear and will have to bring right back to be hemmed? read more

This place destroys clothes. I used to go here a lot because it was so conveniently located. But the last couple of batches of clothes I had cleaned here came back RUINED. My very expensive, new wool pants came back with holes in the crease. Three expensive wool and cashmere sweaters were returned to me full of holes! I was so upset. I could not believe they returned my clothes to me in that condition with a straight face and took my money! Don't go here if you want your clothes returned to you in good condition. This place is terrible. read more

My dry cleaning experience was fine/standard, but when a problem arose they make it clear they don't give a damn about customer satisfaction. Also their alteration skills are poor. I had them hem a pair of denim and when I tried them on the hem was wavy and curling. They told me they could not fix it and did not want to refund my money. Then the lady/owner made some very unprofessional and rude comments to me because I was insistent that the work was not okay. If you want to earn people's money then you need to be prepared to do good work. To their credit and after much persistence on my part, she eventually did refund my money (after removing the stitches of the hem). I went over to Nordstrom and the professional tailors there knew what to do to properly hem denim with stretch. I won't be going back due to their lack of responsibility and bad attitude. read more

I have been coming here for about six years now, and truly have had a bad experience yet. Sometimes, I do get items back that clearly w cleaned, but a faint reminisce of the stain is still there. Also, I took something there at ten in the morning once, and asked for same day service, which they offer for drop offs before nine. They wouldn't accommodate. I figured for the number of items I have taken there over the years, they could find a way to dry clean one suit by five pm, but I guess not. Other than that, they generally have been pretty good to my clothes, as long as I give them the two days it takes to clean the one or two suits I take at a time. read more

Avoid this place at all costs. They have ruined my herringbone pants and refused to take any responsibility. I had expected they would offer to repair it or at least compensate for the damage. But they seem to have no sense of customer satisfaction, let alone any degree of politeness. The man simply walked away saying he doesn't care. read more
