I don't trust any other place to hem my jeans! As a shortie who's lived in Arlington for over two decades, I've tried many places. Cupid's is by far the best for pant/jean alterations. read more

Best place in the area. We rely on them for everything from cleanings to repair. People are lovely too.

Service was very friendly, cheap price for dry cleaning, good value, and clothes were on time and in good condition

I have tried a few local cleaners ever since I moved back to Arlington (2 years ago now). I dearly miss Vienna Valet ( http://www.yelp.com/biz/vienna-valet-vienna ) But I think I have found my new love at Cupid Cleaners! Love the fact that they are organic and no Chemical Odors in clothes - a BIG Star! Also the clothes dont get misshapen and feel fresher too. Only thing against them is the higher prices - but they are worth it for all our expensive and fragile clothes! read more

I drive out of my way to take my shirts and dry-cleaning done here. I tried about 4 cleaners within walking distance of my home, and they all failed to iron my shirts without adding creases where they don't belong, or worse yet, produced new stains (burns?) to my clothing! Why is it so hard to find good cleaners in Arlington? I've never had this problem anywhere else I lived. Cupid Cleaners not only irons well, but they are environmentally friendly cleaners. The staff is always friendly, and helpful when I'm not sure if a shirt needs special treatment or not. I dock them a star reluctantly (almost gave them 5) because they are expensive. But, who can blame them for charging more when nobody else can do the job right. (I admit, I'm on the lookout to equal quality in the Rosslyn area so that I don't have to burn fossil fuels picking up my clothes.) read more

I gave them 4 stars because they are environmentally friendly, but to be honest, it seems to me like they've been going downhill a little lately. I don't know what it is, but my clothes have come back with broken buttons and wrinkles in shirts and pants where there shouldn't be any. Don't get me wrong - If I ask them to fix the buttons, they do so right away, but it's still a pain. They're always extremely nice, though! read more

After moving from Boston, where I was spoiled with a dry cleaner down the street with great prices and service, I was nervous trying cupid after seeing so many bad reviews of other places. First off, the service is pretty quick. People complain about the prices, but I find that under $2 for shirts with 1-2 day turnaround (No extra charge) is CHEAP, although $5ish for pants is not expensive, its pretty normal. Whatever on the eco friendly - it'll add to my conscience but not to my quality of cleaning. The shirts came back clean, no press lines, stiff collar, and so far no crushed buttons. Hours are good, service is good, wish they had afterhours drop off or VIP program. But seriously, good enough for me. read more

Even though I've moved to another part of Arlington, I still come to Cupid Cleaners because of the quality service. I've been a customer for five years or so now, and I've always been pleased. Dry cleaning is expensive, and its no exception here, although they do not charge extra for next-day services, which is a great benefit. There is a private lot with six spaces behind the building. They also have good hours - open until 7 on weekdays. read more

Our apartment down the road on N Washington has a deal with them so we have our clothes dry cleaned and delivered to our units. However, the other day I went into the cleaners to pick up on my own. I had a silk shirt that had stains irremovable from just dry cleaning. They called me ahead of time to ask for permission to hand wash at no extra charge. I got the shirt back and it is like new again without fading the color. Friendly staff, prompt, great with communication. So glad that our apartment building uses them. read more

Magic. I took in an impossible series of stains on a 100% silk dress- two days later & cupid and it is totally gone! It was fair priced (about 12$ for my dress) and they gave me a first time customer discount (which I consider great customer service). read more

I don't have a reason to not give them 4 stars, other than that they close early. 7PM! I always say "no rush" when they ask when I need my clothes by because it'll be til the next weekend. I started going to Cupid when I lived a few blocks away.. I moved to S Arlington and kept making the trek, mainly because it was super convenient right across the street from Giant. Could drop off/pick up and grocery shop easily. Then Penrose opened and I tried the dry cleaner there, big mistake. Not only were the two items I dropped off extremely itchy the first wear (and subsequent few wears) but they shrunk my pants. Back to Cupid! I trust the women there to always have my clothes done and point out stains I didn't even notice (sorry for partying? should be past tense, I've been hermiting lately). The stains don't always come out and the hanger has a little note "We tried" - which sends me on a search to find the stain that I can then never find. Anyway, I don't know, prices are reasonable and my clothes are yet to come back with any flaws. read more

$38 for a simple machine hem? Really? And they had the piece for over a week and it still wasn't ready. Dry cleaning not much better - shrunk & lost buttons. I'm done with this place. Slow, unreliable, and ridiculously expensive. Run! read more

I get all of my dry cleaning done at Cupid Cleaners, thanks to their partnership with my apartment building. The prices are reasonable, the service is reliable and unlike a lot of other dry cleaners I've tried, they don't melt the buttons on my shirts. Clothes come back clean; they've gotten out every stain I've sent them. They also claim to use an environmentally friendly cleaning process. I don't what the environmental impact of this is, but I do know that my clothes don't smell like they were just dry cleaned. read more

So disappointed and frustrated. I've used them for years but I will say its gone down hill the past year. My final straw was I took my wedding dress to be cleaned, very minor dirt marks at the bottom of the dress that is all. It took weeks before it was ready and they were still there. Asked them to do it again we marked the few spots. I just went back to pick it up (3 weeks later) and nothing was done. All I got was a "I'm sorry" written on the tag. No one would try and talk to me, I tried to ask for suggestions, maybe hemming off the bottom to clean it up, nothing. I can accept the fact the marks on the dress won't come out, or they don't know how clean it...but really how about a little customer service? They could at least have the decency to have someone come out and talk to me. Not just have a lady point at receipt that says "I'm Sorry". Not worth the time or money to go here. read more

Nice people, lots of parking in the lot, and a 10% discount for my first cleaning. I really don't understand "organic" cleaning, but I DO understand getting my clothes back looking nice, smelling good, and polite people in the store. And when you are dropping off three dresses that you plunked down about $450 total for, isn't that important? read more

I have used Cupid Cleaners for several years now and I am happy with them. Prices are more expensive than other places, including prices for tailoring, but I like the fact that the clothes don't smell weird and the chemicals are more environmentally friendly than most. I also had my wedding dress cleaned and boxed at Cupid Cleaners. They charged about $170 total, including about $35 for the preservation box, which is competitive with other cleaners. read more

Horrible service!!!! They ruined a very expensive silk dress. They didn't even offer to reimburse me nor ever apologized. Don't take expensive clothes here. I'm very disappointed!! read more

I have been coming for about six years and, up until about two weeks, I had no problems. However, I brought in a vest with a zippered front and zippered pockets just for a cleaning. However, when I got the vest back, the pull tags for the pocket zipper were missing; the front zipper was fine. I took it back but it will take some time because they have to order new zippers, remove the older zippers, then sew in the new ones. In the meantime, I also took a comforter in for a small repair and cleaning. When I picked that up, it may been cleaned but no repair work had been done. I tried to call and stop by but they were closed today. Not sure if they will bother to get back to me but I will not be taking anything there anymore. read more

I can't find enough good things to say about this place. They have a nice friendly staff and they've saved me on more than one occasion. They do an excellent job at removing stains, coffee, blood... Thanks guys! read more

My husband is very picky about how his shirts are pressed, and after trying several cleaners, we are both happy with Cupid. They don't make me unbutton all the buttons (as some other cleaners have asked); they will quickly and without protest fix any broken buttons (which has happened only very rarely on older shirts); and as I go usually on the same day/same time, they remember my name and have my order ready often before I even walk in the door -- a nice touch! The shirts are always nicely pressed and without odd pressed-in folds, as I've experienced at other places. When I have had stains that require extra attention, they do the best they can with regular procedures. Then, if needed, they ask me if it is okay to try harsher procedures, and make sure I know all the potential consequences. Sometimes the harsher procedures work, and sometimes they don't, but I've never felt like I was blindsided after a cleaning. The fact that they're environmentally-friendly is just a bonus. PS They only accept credit cards for sales over $10 (about 6 men's shirts) so sometimes I'll pre-pay my next order so that it's over $10. read more

I have been amazed how those people are nice and politely. Definitely highly recommend them.

My wife and I have been using Cupid Cleaners to clean our clothes since we moved to Virginia. Up until this week our experience has been good. However, now that we have encountered a problem with Cupid's service things are not going well. Some background: Last week my wife dropped off a regular load of dress shirts, slacks and suits. Included in the load was an older (~5 years) Hart, Schaffner and Marx suit and a brand new Jack Victor suit (less than three months old). My son had smeared some gooey substance on the Jack Victor that necessitated cleaning. Yesterday moring I took my suits out of the cleaner's wrapping and began to get dressed. Only then did I notice my pant legs on my Jack Victor had shrunk by almost an inch. My pants were now "no break" when they had been "full break." Not only that, the fabric between the double vent in the suit jacket was now wavy with bubbles at the seam. I inspected the Hart Marx suit and saw the same thing. Given that I have dry cleaned the Hart Marx suit a number of times, I know the garment holds up well to cleaning. I knew that Cupid had damaged both suits irreparably at this point. The next morning, I returned to Cupid with the suits and spoke to the manager. Needless to say, they were no longer helpful or friendly. I explained what I though had happened (the suit was dried/pressed at the wrong temp) and requested they reimburse me for the cost of replacing the Jack Victor or repairing it (I have spoken to my normal suit salesman and he indicated this type of damage is not easily fixed, especially given the damage to the jacket). The manager repeatedly denied that Cupid had done anything wrong, and insisted if they just cleaned both suits again all would be fixed. At numerous times I was told I know nothing about clothes and this just happens with suits; all in all they were very condescending. Given my Hart Marx suit was older, I am willing to write it off. Though, I am peeved about the new Jack Victor. It was made with really nice Loro Piana wool and I expected to wear it for years. I hope no fellow Yelper's have a similar experience. It is very frustrating when you spend a ton of you hard earned money at a business only to have them turn on you when they make a mistake. I'll be taking my business elsewhere, I suggest you do the same. read more

I've been going to Cupid Cleaners since I moved here in February. They've always been pretty prompt. Last time, they pointed out a rip on my shirt's sleeve that they claimed was there when I brought it in... yet, still decided to clean it anyway. The employee offered that they could "patch it," which obviously does me no good on a very nice shirt. Lo and behold, two more of my shirts were torn in the same place. I informed the employee that I did not tear these sleeves on my own, and she simply said that I did. Now, I'm out three of my nicest shirts. Stupid Cupid read more

I tend to refrain from buying club clothes that are dry-clean only because A) I'm lazy and B) well, I'm lazy. So of course my newest exception quickly fell pray to an unfortunate drunken late-night-munchie-mishap (don't judge, we've all been there.) My new cute dress had a not so cute stain. I thought about throwing it away because come on, that's what Forever 21 clothes are for; but this dress made my butt look too good to give it up and lately those dresses are far too hard to come by. Cupid not only got the stain out, they're also eco-friendly and fairly priced. Yay Cupid! read more

They generally do a great job, and, if stains are pointed out beforehand (like tea stains on shirts), they'll get them out. But if you forget to tell them, the most they'll do is put a tag on the item stating "Sorry." For $5.95 for a blouse, it would be my expectation that they look at the blouse before cleaning to see if it needed extra attention. When I got the blouses home and noticed the tags, I was able to get the stains out with a little OxyClean. read more

I have been on the quest for a Dry Cleaner that can do a good job on my suits and shirts in the Arlington area. After trying two different places near my apartment complex (and being sorely disappointed), I read the reviews on Cupid Cleaners and had to try them out. I was very happy with my first test batch of shirts and suits. They did a good job of cleaning the dark and light shirts (no mysterious additional stains) and the suits came out good. My second batch was just as good as the first. All in all, I was really pleased with their performance and service. And to top it off all, they actually searched my clothes and put a few items into an envelope for me. They use a process called GreenEarth Cleaning, which is supposed to be eco-friendly so that was a bonus. It isn't cheap but I found the peace of mind of not having to double check for random stains or broken buttons a real relief. read more

You pay for what you get. And I have to say that while the prices seem a bit steeper to me, the service is amazing. I appreciate that they give you a receipt that describes what items you've left with them (ex: gray pant with tan pinstripe). No more lost clothes. I tend to drop a ton of stuff off at one time because i'm too lazy to go more often. It's comforting to know I'll actually know what got lost if something is missing. In addition, I was impressed that they called me to ask if I wanted to dry clean an item that they found a tear in. Most places would just clean the item and not mention anything (including the place that created the tear to begin with). Parking is easy since they have a private lot as well. read more

Cupid does good work. I've had them dry clean and do alterations and I have absolutely never had a problem with their work. appropriate that they are next door to a BBQ shop. so...you can spill sauce on your clothes and know where to clean them. :) read more

I'm still a fan of their drycleaning (even though it's pricey. but no chemical odor so worth it) but I won't be doing any alterations there. I recently had to have some pants taken in over an inch in the waist (yay!) and decided to try Cupid since they've always been great as cleaners. They took in the waist ($20) but took the entire amount from the center, causing the hips to bulge out in a clown-pants sort of way. When I asked them to fix it they tried to charge me another $24 (but then offered to 'discount' to $16) to fix the seams. In my opinion an experienced seamstress should have known that taking in a large amount from one place would create that problem, or at a minimum should have warned me that it was potentially a problem and given me the choice of how to proceed. I've taken the pants somewhere else to have them fixed (who, for the record, is only charging me $15 even though I didn't have the initial alteration done there.) Verdict: still a fan for cleaning but NOT for alterations. read more

I have used Cupid Cleaners for the past year mainly due to them being extremely close. The first time they showed a rip in my shirt, I assumed it was my fault. The second time it occurred, they apologized and offered to give me the price of the shirt in store credit. I was disappointed but I didn't like the shirt so I accepted. The third time it occurred, I knew enough was enough. With so many cleaners in the Clarendon/Ballston area, do not waste your time here. They are subpar when it comes to cleaning stains and their prices are higher than you can get elsewhere. read more

I've been using Cupid Cleaners for my dry cleaning/laundry needs for the last 5 years (except for the short time I used Soapy Joe's). They have always provided good service at a reasonable price, until yesterday. On Saturday, I dropped off my brand new custom suit with instructions to use the foil covers on the suit's mother of pearl buttons because they were delicate. They obliged and the receipt read: "COVER ALL BUTTONS." Yesterday I went to go pick it up and did a spot check only to find 3 buttons on the sleeve broken and the experience went down hill from there. First I was told the buttons came in that way (not true - the suit was worn once on my wedding day and I double checked ALL the buttons before bringing it in because I've had button issues in the past). Then I was told by the manager that they were women's buttons and not meant for men's suits and was told for a fee they'd replace all the buttons on the jacket. After I rebuffed up-sell I requested that they knock some money off the suit cleaning and was told they couldn't do that. No problem though - if $24.50 for one dry cleaning is worth more than keeping a loyal customer of 5 years that's fine by me. Sigh, my search for a quality dry cleaner continues in NoVA... read more

Don't be fooled by the big size of this cleaners. I thought a big store would equate with strong customer base and high quality. Not the case. The service is poor and unfriendly. The were not able to remove stains (and in some cases made it worse) and they still charged for the service! Every other dry cleaners I have been to waived the cleaning fee when they were unable to remove the stain. Other cleaners usually apologize or express some degree of regret for being unable to remove the stain. Not this place. They were unfriendly and did not seem the least bit bothered by the fact that the clothing was ruined/stained. Seriously, take your clothes and money elsewhere. read more

I feel obligated to write a review for Cupid Cleaners since I practically live next door to the place. I've had a winter coat and a business suit cleaned there and both of them came out great. Since it's been a few years, I'm updating my review. My husband and I continue to go to Cupid Cleaners because of the deal with his apartment complex. Positive: Cupid did a wonderful job cleaning my lace wedding dress and removing most of my spray tan stains, which enabled me to sell it. That deserves an extra star. The negatives: my winter coats, dry clean wool pants, and every single one of my husband's dress shirts have shrunk in length considerably. The cost of continually replacing dress shirts outweighs the discount we receive, and when we move in a month we will not be back. read more
