    HAIR IN MY EGGS!

This is the single worst experience I have ever had with a restaurant! I ordered and had my food delivered. It was packaged in collapsing cardboard containers. Eggs were hard cooked and dumped into a small cardboard container. I managed to scrape some of it onto a plate and then realized there was no bacon. I was hungry so I decided to just eat - on my third bite THERE WAS A HAIR IN MY FOOD!!!!!! This is just plain disgusting!!! My family had food either stuck to the cardboard that needed to be scraped off or it was so dry they couldn't eat it! This was not pizza cheese stuck to the top of the box - it was a meal with chicken and pasta! We order out quite often and this was far far far the worst experience I've had!! We were looking for a place close to home that we could start going to - this will definitely NOT be the place! Don't just pass it by - speed up and run!!!

Look at all the extra cucumber!!!!

I CANNOT RECOMMEND CRYSTAL DINER. ordered thru Grubhub, but this review has no criticism of Grubhub. ordered dinner for my family. Greek salad, NO CUCUMBERS PLEASE. got a Greek salad loaded with what appears to be EXTRA cucumbers cut up in the salad. also is so wet, fluid pooled in the bottom of the container, and leaked into the plastic bag. See photo. if they think I am eating a salad, drenched in an unknown liquid, uh...no. also no Greek salad dressing, got a honey mustard type dressing instead. garden salad was good, but instead of ranch dressing, creamy Italian. good thing we had ranch here at the house egg salad on rye, -- who puts half a head of wet lettuce on an egg salad sandwich? instead of the sweet potato fries, got regular steak cut fries that were limp and obviously left over not hot not fresh. will not order from nor dine at Crystal diner. do not recommend. they obviously do not care about the accuracy, nor quality of the product they send out.

Crystal Diner (formerly Edgewater Queen) in Edgewater Park, NJ, is a small footprint roadside attraction on southbound Route 130. It looks recently renovated with stone and stainless fascade, and has a cozy if crowded ambiance. I sat down at the end of the counter and was immediately welcomed by a few of the staff hustling their platters and coffee pots. The menu was a tour de force of traditional diner cuisine with several pages just for breakfast. I went with something small (I thought) before a more elaborate and expensive meal. The breakfast sandwich (sausage, egg & cheese on kaiser) seemed about right. I asked my server if they used quality rolls as opposed to the poor varieties found in some kitchens. She assured me theirs were good. They weren't. What arrived minutes later was a large plate, half of which was loaded with home fried potatoes, and a transected sandwich with long toothpicks holding the two halves together. I didn't mind that they used links rather than patties, even when they began to roll out of the sandwich. No biggie. However, the kaiser was a cheap imitation of an actual bakery product. It was crushed, lifeless and tasteless. What was worse were the home fries. They lacked flavor and were dry beyond redemption. Not even salt, pepper and hot sauce could salvage them. It was obvious that the kitchen didn't have a clue and that management was likely part of the conspiracy. When was the last time anyone sampled their offerings to provide quality control? Not often enough. It was a full house, so I expect I am whistling in the wind, but it is one and done for me.

It's supposed to be a Nutella Mini Pizza with strawberries and bananas, almost everything is missing.

I bought dinner for my family and it was very disappointing. I know the cooks got to follow up with the chef or the owner of the business but it was awful. We ordered a normal hamburger with lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles unfortunately i received just buns and burger. The only thing edible was the fries and garlic bread. Next time I'll stick with crazy cow pizzeria, I paid $43 dollars for my order and it wasn't worth $10 to say the least. I didn't take a picture of te burger because I had to add my own stuff to it to make it taste somewhat decent.

We were greeted with a warm and inviting welcome upon entering while being seated in a classic New Jersey Diner. Although small it was tastefully styled in Art Deco fashion with a glass showcase featuring decadent deserts like carrot cake, chocolate, assorted pies and cannolis. Abu was our server who graciously place our order of a chicken cordon bleu melt and and a Greek Salad with anchovies minus the grape leaves. They both were quite good. The chicken cordon bleu melt came with fries, pickle and coleslaw. The slaw needed a little something else added to make it taste better but everything else was great. The Greek Salad had too much vinegar not enough oil ratio and the amount poured over the salad was too much. Next time I will ask for the dressing on the side. Overall, I was please with my meal and their prices are very reasonable and clean! The raspberry ice tea was spot on! Just like this place and me returning for another meal!

The most disgusting food ever sold. I am so made I wasted $33. On what's was supposed to be a Thanksgiving special. If you have no family to celebrate with and are craving holiday food stay away from this place. Everything was frozen or canned food.

We come to the restaurant at least twice a week enjoy almost every meal that we have unlike the other person the salad dressing is always on the side

The Crystal Diner has recently gone through a management change and since I needed a new diner, it made it an easy pick. I wasn't sure what to expect, as it was new. I had driven by before when it was under an it's old name and it looked like a decent diner, smaller but not bad. Atmosphere: There is nothing about the exterior that screams diner. It's a normal cobblestone building. The interior is smaller with several booths and a full length bar. It's a clean restaurant but it's not a big, shiny, building and with so many chrome diners along the same road, it doesn't stand out. Coffee: The coffee was brewed fresh and the waitress made sure it was refilled. It was the local Lacas blend, and I have no complaints. Service: The waitress was clearly either young and new but she was extremely enthusiastic. She was friendly, came to our table often, and made sure food came out quickly. Even though she was new and intense, she was friendly and everything came out quickly. Food: The Crystal Diner has everything a Jersey diner usually does: breakfast, lunch, and many different different options from steak to seafood. I noticed they had a hummus appetizer and we decided to order that. I overheard the manager telling our waitress they no longer serve it, so I guess they haven't changed the menus from the old diner. The meal came with cheesy bread which was good. Any diner with a cheesy bread basket already starts off on a good foot. I ordered a burger which came with fries. The burger was average, nothing unique or unusual but nothing bad either. It was average. The French fries were from the frozen food aisle. In all, my meal was extremely average. Not the worst, not the best. Summary/Would I come back? The Crystal Diner isn't a bad option and has a lot of different options. It's not my favorite local diner, but not my least favorite either. The waitress was definitely better than average though.

UPDATE!! THIS PLACE SHOULD BE CONDEMNED. I am beyond…read morefurious. I NEVER write reviews, but this "restaurant" was so disgusting, so overpriced, and so flat-out terrible that I feel like it's my civic duty to warn everyone. The food was a straight-up nightmare. The mac and cheese was so watery it looked like cheese-flavored soup. The eggs were slimy, sticky, and honestly impossible to eat. Even the fruit tasted old and mushy, like it had been sitting out for days. I ended up with a stomach ache afterward -- and that should've been the first red flag. But it gets worse. I put my leftovers in the fridge and ONE DAY LATER they were covered in mold. MOLD. That's not just bad, that's dangerous and unacceptable for a place serving food to the public. The bathroom was tiny and uncomfortable, barely enough room to move, and for how expensive everything is, the quality is insulting. For the amount they charge, this is borderline criminal. The whole place should be inspected, shut down, and rebuilt from the foundation up -- because right now it's an embarrassment. Save your time, your money, and your stomach. DO NOT EAT HERE. THIS IS YOUR WARNING.‼‼‼‼‼ ZERO ZERO STARS!!!!!

We came to Amy's because we were in the nearby area and it might be my new favorite breakfast spot. The entire place looks like an old school diner that has seen better days, but to me that makes it even more endearing. There is no glitz or glamour in the decor but all the love is in the food and service. Our server brought us their GIANT menu of skillets, pancakes and more. It was a tough decision to make but I got the southern sampler which came with the MOST DELICIOUS grits I have ever had in my life. The sampler consisted of two large pieces of perfect french toast, a crispy chicken cutlet with spicy syrup and a generous serving of grits topped with tons of bacon and scallions. The portion was big enough to share, but trust me, you won't want to. My hubby got an omlette with chorizo that was really tasty and my son was obsessed with their french toast. The prices of breakfast were also comparable to a Cracker Barrel, but the service and taste was amazing. Definitely get there.

I found Aamir's Halal Jamaican kitchen in the Country Club Plaza Shopping Center and walked in to check it out. Service was with a smile and the menu laid out on the cashier counter was extensive. I opted for a lamb gyro with white sauce wrapped in a thick pita. There were only two tables for eating in, so I had my gyro bagged for home consumption. I also too a chance on a pineapple ginger drink that appealed to me. The lamb load was enormous, well grilled and heavily spiced, with lettuce, tomato and onion filling the capacity of the premade pita. With the white sauce squirted over it all, it was actually more than I could consume in one seating. I enjoyed it, it was a situation where less would have been more. The small shop was designed for takeaway, and it accommodated a steady stream of customers going in and out. I enjoyed the Jamaican patois coming from the kitchen, which gave the restaurant a very pleasant atmosphere. Four Skas and a bag of Reggae

I didn't have the pleasure of visiting Dog & Bull before it was renovated, but I visited last night and can't wait to return. My friend and I made a reservation for 5:30 PM (just in case) as we read online that reservations were recommended, but I don't actually think one was needed. When you walk in, it's bright and inviting. The garage doors throughout the property provide a ton of natural light. I can only imagine how lovely it is when they're open in the summer. Additionally, the outside has a nice patio and an area with a fire pit. The restaurant's layout was designed wonderfully! Our server was Alex (Alexandria) and she was the epitome of exceptional service. She checked in on us multiple times and always had a smile on her face when she came over. We really appreciated having her. The baked feta and hummus appetizer was just as delicious as it looks in the photo. The thick pieces of garlic, roasted red peppers, olives, cucumbers and pita bread triangles paired so nicely with the feta. The hummus was warmed up and it looked like the kitchen staff may have torched the top of it. It was phenomenal. Boy do I have notes on the lentil burger - it was 10/10!! I'm not a big bean person and even though this burger had beans in it, it somehow tasted like an actual beef burger. Sounds crazy, I know, but trust and believe it was pure excellence. I added cheddar for an additional charge and upgraded my regular fries to garlic parm fries. Finally, the caramel apple bread pudding... oh my oh my! What a DELIGHT. The top was piled high with a big scoop of frosting. Yes, you read that right. Frosting! Not ice cream! You can taste the apple pieces in the bread pudding. My friend and I wanted to order it twice. It was THAT good. It was easy to make my way to Dog & Bull from Center City thanks to the Septa station located directly behind the restaurant. Street parking also wasn't too bad yesterday. I absolutely loved the experience I had here and will be stopping by again this summer! Thanks, Dog & Bull!

I am not sure if Management has changed but whatever it was / is needs to be addressed immediately for the sake of not losing customers. Asking to be seated at a different table other than the one we were initially seated at (bc it was right by the door and the wind coming in was freezing) was the first red flag because the hostess seemed bewildered and bothered that we wanted a new table despite there being 50-11 other open tables throughout the joint. It literally then took 15 minutes before our server greeted us and it just kept rolling downhill at a faster and faster rate by the minute. Appetizers done before our cocktails arrived, cocktails done before we could order our entrees, entrees arrived missing key components and it took a good 10 minutes before we could get our server and the minute she walks over she says oh you need the ABC ... ma'am! If you KNEW what we needed why didn't you immediately address it without us having to flag you down???!!!??? And the reason it took 10 minutes to flag her down was because the rest of the floor staff was running around like chickens with their heads cut off ignoring diners trying to get their attention. Oh and the best part was that there was this "figure of management" present ... and I say "figure of management" because he was also ignoring diners and not checking in with them like a restaurant manager typically does ... he was only going to the empty tables cleaning them, slowly adding place settings, rearranging the empty tables ... trying to look busy!!!!! It was honestly comical at one point. We asked for boxes for our food because we still never received all of what was missing despite our server acknowledging it was missing and stating she would bring it back. We literally never ever received it smh . My BF told her this was the worst service we've ever had and it probably didn't even phase her because her attitude overall was just sucky from the beginning. If this is all because of new management they need to go on and get new new management before this place's reputation is ruined.

By the time they let me go, it was after two o clock and I was hungry enough to consider eating the clipboard having been required to fast since the night prior. Instead, I drove over to Golden Dawn Diner, an old Route 130 diner that proudly runs on solar power and seems determined to keep the great New Jersey diner civilization shambling onward at least another few decades. The parking lot looked a little lonely when I pulled in. Not dead exactly, just resting its eyes. Inside were a handful of regulars who had the settled look of people who know which waitress works Tuesdays and which booth wobbles. My kind of crowd. The waitress appeared almost before I sat down. I did not need the menu. Two scrambled eggs, home fries, white toast, scrapple, coffee. Scrapple, for the uninitiated, is what happens when Pennsylvania Dutch thrift and ingenuity collides with breakfast meat and nobody asks too many questions afterward. It is made from pork "scraps," cornmeal and existential resignation. Fried correctly, it is uniquely magnificent. Mine was magnificent. Thin slices, crisp around the edges, soft and moist in the middle, clearly worked on a grill by somebody who respected the material. The eggs were right, the home fries actually tasted of potatoes, and the coffee arrived hot and kept returning as faithfully as a Labrador retriever. The food came out with astonishing speed, which under the circumstances may have saved me from gnawing on the booth. Eighteen bucks including tip. If in the area, I wouldn't hesitate to go back.
